His cloack being an extension of his arms is so cool and the way he glides is just amazing. A giant batdemon who literally watches over Gotham. Best Batman equipment wise!
I love how Absolute Batman feels like a mix of Bruce and Jason Todd, with a bit of a Gotham setting as the cherry on top. Also, them switching up Joker to be more of a green goblin is also a Spider-Man reference. It works well and I'm here for it.
How I think Bruce's friends were changed. Waylon: doc conners lizard style mutation. Selina: black cat amulet. Onwald: gets some form of scaring that makes him look like a penguin. Edward: severe psychological scaring, resulting in his obsession with riddles. Either way they all stay close friends.
The two most interesting aspects of the story to me so far are that Martha is alive and that Bruce grew up with his rogue's gallery essentially. Him being childhood friends with Catwoman, Killer Croc, Penguin, Two-Face and the Riddler can make for a very interesting plot development down the line depending on what they do with those characters in this universe. I honestly did not think a broke Batman would work, but this first issue really sold me on what this universe can offer like with Marvel's Ultimate universe. Here's to hoping both universes have amazing runs for the forseeable future.
What I like most about absolute batman is seeing how he's still choose to be a hero. In most iterations of batman it's always the lost of his parents that make him dawn the mask and sometime if he keeps them never touches being batman. So having a batman lose his dad, be a genius, be middle class, and have all the reasons to turn a blind eye to crime and still chooses to be a hero is amazing. Plus I love seeing how while batman may break things in his pursuit of crime Bruce Wayne helps to repair. Kind fixing my beef of prime bruce wayne being more of the mask for batman.
@soulance8342 I get that but I feel like other versions of batman are still batman but this just sounds like a completely different character and not as interesting owl man was more interesting.

I'd just love to see a beginning, middle and end to comic books that don't leave it all open ended and then retconned two issues later.

In my opinion, the alteration of Batman’s iconic origin is a bold move to capture readers. I think Snyder has pulled it off. For me, this is definitely a Batman I personally relate to. In a broader context, it’s important to note that Batman has been written from multiple perspectives throughout his nearly 100 year history. And as a result, he means different things to different people. One aspect of his character could intrigue 1 reader and a story element could hook another. This allows our mind to amalgamate the character we know as Batman into the “absolute” version of him that we prefer. I think this latest version is a brilliant example of a way he is written to connect with another kind of reader. The more Batman fans the merrier!
Only been 2 times in my life I've ever been a batman fan. Batman beyond and now this one. This series seems so cool and love that batman feels more down to earthish

It was Martha Wayne saying that big Speech at Gotham City Hall,Not Selina Kyle. She even tells Bruce that she was about to win over the crowd until the Party Animals gang came through(Also She is wearing the same Pearls on her neck when she was at city hall,So I think we'll see Catwoman soon, but she wasn't introduced in the story other than Bruce Wayne's childhood friend in a picture frame)
14:55 - Batman just casually whips out a battle axe and chops a dude's hand off... Gotham's got a new definition of 'hands-on' crime-fighting! 🦇💥😂
Surely that would be a more hands off approach.
No One:
Absolute Batman: [ Sees a Someone pull out a meat cleaver]
Also Absolute Batman [ Pulls out his axe]: ''Mines Bigger''
HE'S THE DEFINITION OF I'M HIM🔥🔥❤🔥
They call me Himinem
You didn't have to use the no one it's a comic book in line with the story the "no one" implies it happens randomly
@@danielhughes5932Ok paragraph Paul you understood the joke. It's not that serious
That's not a knife.
"pulls out double sided axe" THIS is a knife.
_MINE ARE BIGGER THAN YOURS._ *[BATSMIRK]*
The batman who laughs ❌
The joker who doesn’t laugh ✅
*the joker who deadpans.
The Batman who lifts
In some comics Oswald and Selina have been Bruce's childhood friends
21:58 Bro literally brought everything around full circle. Whoever wrote this story understands atmosphere. You're an amazing writer. You literally did what it takes Oda years of build up in a couple of pages. OOOOOO YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW THIS IS BATMAN!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS ATMOSPHERE!!!
OOOOOOOOOOO YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YEYES YESY EYYES YEYS YES YES YES YEYS EYS EYES YES YESY
OH MY GOD OH MY GOODNESS. YESSS PLEASEEEEEEEEE.
I'd love too see a timeline in our universe where Batman wasn't constantly retconned to redo the origin, redo the batman and joker fight and redo his will they won't they nonsense all over again... I'd just love to see a beginning, middle and end to comic books that don't leave it all open ended and then retconned two issues later.
Yeah I feel like this is what American comics are in need of, not to necessarily copy everything about Manga/Anime, but make a cool story that has an end. Not every end needs some big universe reset
This is cool. A long time ago I would have liked a story of Bruce being a regular dude, an engineer that works for and lives in the city. I like this.
I was worried about this universe but we seem to be off to a good start. My favorite part is how Jim Gordon doesn't hesitate to draw attention to himself when the Party Animals attack.
This version of batman is so fucking awesome i want a videogame so bad
This comic was absolutely amazing but your narration was absolutely perfect ......I love it u have my subscription no doubt.....this is my first time on your channel and it won't be the last
Gotta say, this is absolutely insane. Loving the fresh take on the characters and their dynamics. Can't wait to see where this goes. Always loved Batman, can't wait to love him more now that he's the underdog.
22:25 dude modified his shotty to pump out batshot and GTA'd him with his own piece. Gangster.
I had to rewind it cus i was watching in the shower and was like yup.... them lil bats
Who would have thought that darksied and the maker would have the most interesting universes
facts, neither marvel nor DCs main lines interest me rn but the ultimate and absolute universes are really exciting for me
Man😢wish I could hear Benny narrate absolute Batman. This would been so good. 15:14 R.I.P.
The batman who laughs did a number on me when i finished it, deadpool on quantum steroids and multiversal plot armor, constantly falling off it’s own edge.
Thanks for covering this story, i got to remember the feeling i got when i watched the 90’s animated series.
This is AWESOME keep the Absolute universe stories coming
Just finished reading the first issue. Undoubtedly one of thee best intros to a Batman story I’ve read in a long time
Bane finna be Hulk size bruh
or the venom makes him smarter not stronger to flip the concept around.
I was thinking about that. I feel Bane would actually be more of a really intelligent drug dealer who makes his underlings juiced up on venom. Basically, going with "Don't use your own supply."
Never imagined hearing batman and Knife work in the same sentence.
Bats out here slicing fools up!
hadda pause at 1:18 to tell robb, that alfred becoming the spectre is by far his SHINING moment across ALL of dc lol
Now this is how you write a character who's more relatable yet still batman, not taking whats there and just dumbing it down like they do in every single liveaction, they redid his entire arc and its beautiful, soooo beautiful
Absolute Nightwing about to HIT THE FUCK HARD.
I hope not
With what money? Bruce sure as hell isn't adopting him.
@@baki484 we could see a crazy different origin for him too. alfred is so different here.
@@gloquehartMaybe the Graysons move into the same apartment complex as Bruce and his mom, John and Mary go out one day and never come back leaving Bruce to come home seeing Dick waiting in the hallway? Idk just spit balling
Possible. That kid at the gym with Bruce seemed to look up to him alot and looked a bit like him. That could be the opening for Nightwing being his homie and not his adopted son
More gains, less money. this is the perfect Batman
Im just realizing absolute is another ongoing universe. To be sure absolute isn't a reboot, its another universe alongside the normal dc universe.
It's basically the Ultimate Marvel universe vs the mainstream Marvel.
Darkseid made sure of that.
Like @@Jonkin715said, it's DC's own Ultimate universe. Not really a part of the multiverse, where universes are pretty similar, but different. It's own, much different universe.
@@tvsavery666it is a universe in the multiverse.
@@ked49 I guess so but the multiverse makes me think of Earth 2, where everything is basically the same but with a few changes. Absolute almost changes everything, it seems.
Holy shit im not much of a batman fan but this is actually PEAK 🔥🔥🔥 i genuinely love this take on batman with him being more.... realistic? if you can call it that. Love it dude I WANT MORE IM HUNGRY
Hey Rob, I hope you're doing good ❤ This community loves your content because of your hard work, Thank you 😊
I like this origin story way better . Puts the fight back in every D.C characters .
I bet Alfred's handler is Rasul Ghaul.......
MOST IMPORTANTLY this BATMAN COMIC CONCEPT IS REFRESHINGLY EPIC🔥
He's dead in this universe.
@@nerotheyoungno they said the league of assassins is dead but not Ra’s.
Could be Amanda Waller
Q? What multi-verse is this BATMAN from...???
That Joker cliffhanger was MADD😮😮😮
I'm just coming to the realization this writer has done like 4-5 of some of the best Batman stories ever put to the page. His run on Batman is legendary. We're in for a treat.
such an interesting switch of roles between batman and joker, and all i’m all for it! 😍
I loved how it was implied that it was the joker who took bruce's training tour but ended killing all of the masters, also not a huge fan of another case of red head erasure
agreed
Yep! I would've been all-out in major support of this one, but them erasing Barbara Gordon from being a redhead just to sate their evil DEI/ESG masters is peak sellout. I'll casually keep up with this one, but count me out as a paid supporter.
who still cares about race changes lol
Boo hoo
Another universe, they can change whatever they want
His suit is dope maaan.....
One of the best Batman story ever told
the dozen mini batarangs in alfreds face is HILLARIOUS
The BatWing shrapnel in Alfred's face *chef's kiss* S-Tier 😂👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I absolutely ADORED this concept, so many smart and strong decisions made to craft an interesting version of the Batman world
As someone who has fallen far from Batman in the last 5 years (bar The Batman and The Penguin by Reeves), I will stay tuned and LOCKED IN
The new cape is beautiful asl too
are you not picking up that that mask dude is Black Mask, bro....
😂 fr
😂 like
Ong it was so fkn obvious
so u tellin me . . . that the guy in the black mask . . whose gang wears black masks . . is Black Mask?
i could not have seen this coming
@@jjwang7597 Nah bro it's obviously the "animals"(?) gang or whatever lmao
Batman bulked up on protein along with his bat symbol
The Absolute DC comics so far seem to have an almost manga esque feel to it, and I love it :)
Especially with Batman's bloody action.
This is such an unhinged take on Batman
... I want more
In my opinion, the alteration of Batman’s iconic origin is a bold move to capture readers.
Already, i really like all these ideas for the backstories and everything, i already knew this'd be one id enjoy, but i wasnt expecting this
Anyone else notice the guy in background of Bruce talking to his dad doing the joker laugh 🤔
This is an excellent intro to this world. The logo… man, we all made fun of that new logo, but Mr. Snyder knew what he was doing.
Only been 2 times in my life I've ever been a batman fan. Batman beyond and now this one. This series seems so cool and love that batman feels more down to earthish
Calling it now, Alfred is a proto Deathstroke
Imagine Alfred takes the death stroke mantle and we just end up getting the early 20s teen titan animated version of death stroke but just call him Slade.
definitely
Let’s hope he doesn’t inherit the uh “other” part of Deathstroke
Raj ?
@@themightymikeshow1992 Raj is going be dangerous in this universe but Im going assume in this universe,he isn't going be the leader of the league of shadows . This Raj might have mission to destroy gotham more than rebuild it .
i really liked this...and, of course, the ever talked about in such a short time, the reveal of that giant "controversial" bat symbol on his chest
(and ya know what, sure, even the traditional story twist ending...)
FUCKING YES! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO DROP THIS!! 🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm so glad to be able to read and keep this comic. We needed something new and different. This is it.
21:10 Alfred as Solid Snake
