My ex dropped me so fast. He was online in 24 hours. Even his ex wife is shocked how fast he moved on. In my opinion, if it was that fast, it was happening during the relationship.
Oh, for sure. It's tragic. My ex-wife asked for a divorce back in April. 5 days later, she was in an apt. 1 month later, she was already telling our 12 year old son about someone she was talking to. I would later find out she was talking to this person she met online when she was atill in the house.. Phone records indicated she started phone calls about a day or 2 after she asked for divorce. When I confronted her during mediation, she said she cheated. She denied it, saying it wasn't cheating because she had already asked for divorce. It was unbelievable. I would also find out during last summer that he was 19. She's gonna be 37 this July. I have been having a hard time with not viewing the whole thing as grooming.
Typo...I said she cheated. Also, I believe 💯 that she was already talking to this kid before she asked for the divorce. I have never been more aware of certain behaviors as I am now.
The best thing you can do is focus on yourself and allow yourself time to heal. You can’t make someone want to be with you. And if they come back it will be when their ready.

It's highly unlikely your ex is going to tell the rebound that they still have feelings for you or that they are healing in any way. They're not going to say anything that reduces the chance of them having sex with this person, lets face it. They will probably lie about how long you've been broken up and totally minimise the relationship altogether.
Mine is using him to get over me and supposedly he talks with her about all her problems - she has outsourced dealing with everything to him - he set up a new life for her in a foreign country with him right of the bat, he listens to her all the time, buys her everything, pays for everything etc. No care in the world, that she just got out of the longest relationship of her life.
Yes I agree with this the ex will stay quiet about their previous long term attachment partner so as not to frighten the new rebound off. If they do know about it the breakup then the new rebound has antisocial personality traits and is grabbing at the opportunity of the exes loss generally to take sexual advantage of them in their vulnerability

More than 60% of conventional, traditional NON-rebound relationships don't even go the distance (see divorce rate). So, a rebound relationship basically stands no chance of survival. If your ex jumped into one of these, work on yourself and let it go through its cycle. It when begin to crumble after 6 months to a year if not sooner. Then your ex will either monkey branch again or start breadcrumbing you depending on how their perception of you changed over that time. You either take them back or have moved on. If your ex is in a rebound, you are in a win/win situation. It may not feel like it, embrace the stated facts and believe.

I needed this! My ex told me, after we had started chatting friendly (which sometimes ventured into flirty/spicy), that he was seeing someone but it wasn’t serious. My wife became very difficult and argumentative towards me. To a point I ended it because she wouldn't talk to me properly. She then used me ending it against me constantly. I might add that within the first few days of him telling me he wanted to 'see other people' and us separating, he was on tinder. It's like he can't be alone. I can relate to your situation. Mine’s a little different, but similar in that I realized that my ex hadn’t fully processed, taken responsibility for, or healed from his divorce before me. We dated for over 1.5 years, and he abruptly broke up with me on the phone when he was very emotionally shutdown with very little conversation. I’ve realized he’s very avoidant and possibly has some narcissistic traits as well. Within two months of us breaking up, he jumped into another relationship, and five months later got engaged. His son was also killed three months after we broke up. He’s running from his pain, not dealing with anything, and pretending everything is great. I think rebound relationships are determined by someone’s emotional state rather than by time. I absolutely think my ex used me to distract himself, even though it had been longer, and this new relationship is absolutely a rebound, because he didn’t deal with the end of our relationship. In fact, he now has his marriage/divorce, our relationship, and his son’s death, all piled up. So it’s even worse now. Some people can just jump from one rebound to another if they never deal with the end of their relationships, regardless of the time in between. Obviously the chances of them healing are greater with more time, but not necessarily.
I think both of you are the rebounds. It's possible for someone to rebound with multiple partners just to try to get over that one ex which in her case is her ex husband.

We broke up on 10/21. We kept in contact for a couple months after our break. However in Dec, we had a huge argument and we said horrible things to each other. I immediately apologize for the things I said. We didn't communicate for several months after the major argument. We reestablished communications in April 2022 and she informed that she was dating but we could be friends. Like an idiot, I agreed to be her friend. Shortly after I informed her that I couldn't be her friend. But I will be in contact with her to return her stuff that she left at my house. In July 2022, I tried calling her regarding her stuff but she blocked me. I emailed her but she wouldn't reply. So...from July to Sep I tried contacting her but she wouldn't respond. In Nov, I sent her a Happy Thanksgiving card. She replied to the card three weeks later via emailed. In the email she thank me for the card. Then we started to email each back and forth. On Christmas Day, she text me Merry Christmas. Remember she had me blocked since July. In Jan 2023, she sent email regarding her stuff. I replied with, "If you wouldn't to contact me regarding your belongings call me. I'm no longer will be communicating with you via. Don't worry I will never call you while you her dating another man, but feel free to call me!!" I sent that reply almost two months and she hasn't replied back. LOL LOL Just ridiculous, but it's all good. I'm dating again. I wish her the best.
I got monkey'd in 2021 it took psychology sessions for me to realize I was verbally, and emotionally abused on top of cheated. it slowly happened over 2 years then cheated at the end. I had been alone 11 years working out and didn't care for dating or hooking up after a 7 year relationship . the red flag I missed was her last relationship was 4 years prior but it was a rebound for almost 10 years and yes it was extremely toxic and ended in physical abuse. I got lucky the monkey branch happened because I was alone for so long I didn't know about relationships other than stay away from drug addicts so I would have continued being abused by her.

Went through a similar situation. My ex broke up with me and wanted to remain friends. I agreed to this thinking it would help rekindle our relationship. 2 weeks post breakup she is in a new relationship and posting him all over social media (but couldn't post me when I was with her). When I found out she has a new man, I blocked and removed her on all social media. She reached out to me and called me childish for blocking her and I can't face the fact that she has a new man and has a connection with him. I told her a friendship isn't on the cards for me, she has a new man, and we have history, so I'm not meddling in someones relationship, and I am moving on. I blocked her again and never looked back. Oh, for sure. It's tragic. My ex-wife asked for a divorce back in April. 5 days later, she was in an apt. 1 month later, she was already telling our 12 year old son about someone she was talking to. I would later find out she was talking to this person she met online when she was atill in the house.. Phone records indicated she started phone calls about a day or 2 after she asked for divorce. When I confronted her during mediation, she said she cheated. She denied it, saying it wasn't cheating because she had already asked for divorce. It was unbelievable. I would also find out during last summer that he was 19. She's gonna be 37 this July. I have been having a hard time with not viewing the whole thing as grooming.

My wife became very difficult and argumentative towards me. To a point I ended it because she wouldn't talk to me properly. She then used me ending it against me constantly. Making it look like I'd forced her I kept telling her she had the choice and she could talk to me

I might add that within the first few days of him telling me he wanted to 'see other people' and us separating, he was on tinder. It's like he can't be alone. He needed to get into a relationship instantly and now he is moving in with the coworker he monkey branched to. It seems like he would try to make it work. He hasn't done any healing or being by himself all while I'm heartbroken. I can relate to your situation. Mine’s a little different, but similar in that I realized that my ex hadn’t fully processed, taken responsibility for, or healed from his divorce before me. We dated for over 1.5 years, and he abruptly broke up with me on the phone when he was very emotionally shutdown with very little conversation. I’ve realized he’s very avoidant and possibly has some narcissistic traits as well.
Within two months of us breaking up, he jumped into another relationship, and five months later got engaged. His son was also killed three months after we broke up. He’s running from his pain, not dealing with anything, and pretending everything is great.
I think rebound relationships are determined by someone’s emotional state rather than by time. I absolutely think my ex used me to distract himself, even though it had been longer, and this new relationship is absolutely a rebound, because he didn’t deal with the end of our relationship. In fact, he now has his marriage/divorce, our relationship, and his son’s death, all piled up. So it’s even worse now. Some people can just jump from one rebound to another if they never deal with the end of their relationships, regardless of the time in between. Obviously the chances of them healing are greater with more time, but not necessarily.
I think both of you are the rebounds. It's possible for someone to rebound with multiple partners just to try to get over that one ex which in her case is her ex husband.

We've broken up for 14 months. We broke up on 10/21. We kept in contact for a couple months after our break. However in Dec, we had a huge argument and we said horrible things to each other. I immediately apologize for the things I said.
We didn't communicate for several months after the major argument. We reestablished communications in April 2022 and she informed that she was dating but we could be friends. Like an idiot, I agreed to be her friend.
Shortly after I informed her that I couldn't be her friend. But I will be in contact with her to return her stuff that she left at my house.

In Nov, I sent her a Happy Thanksgiving card. She replied to the card three weeks later via emailed. In the email she thank me for the card. Then we started to email each back and forth.
On Christmas Day, she text me Merry Christmas. Remember she had me blocked since July.
In Jan 2023, she sent email regarding her stuff. I replied with, "If you wouldn't to contact me regarding your belongings call me. I'm no longer will be communicating with you via. Don't worry I will never call you while you her dating another man, but feel free to call me!!"
I sent that reply almost two months and she hasn't replied back. LOL LOL

I got monkey'd in 2021 it took psychology sessions for me to realize I was verbally, and emotionally abused on top of cheated. it slowly happened over 2 years then cheated at the end. I had been alone 11 years working out and didn't care for dating or hooking up after a 7 year relationship . the red flag I missed was her last relationship was 4 years prior but it was a rebound for almost 10 years and yes it was extremely toxic and ended in physical abuse. I got lucky the monkey branch happened because I was alone for so long I didn't know about relationships other than stay away from drug addicts so I would have continued being abused by her.

I agreed to this thinking it would help rekindle our relationship. 2 weeks post breakup she is in a new relationship and posting him all over social media (but couldn't post me when I was with her). When I found out she has a new man, I blocked and removed her on all social media. She reached out to me and called me childish for blocking her and I can't face the fact that she has a new man and has a connection with him. I told her a friendship isn't on the cards for me, she has a new man, and we have history, so I'm not meddling in someones relationship, and I am moving on. I blocked her again and never looked back. It's been tough, but since cutting her off in totality I have realized a lot about her, and myself, and I'm glad she showed me her true colors, because I was blinded while being with her.
The saddest is when they keep the rebound in shadows after 6 months. It’s like having a mistress that your friends and family disapprove. Don’t want to be in her place 😢

Yep, that sucker didn't mind she was in a relationship with me 5 yrs ago, he then threatened to kill himself if she left him (she came back to me, nothing happened), now that we broke up after 8yrs together, she jumped straight back into his familiar arms, supposedly he is now reformed - yeah reformed my ass, he didn't waste a minute to lure her to him when she was the most vulnerable she has ever been and made her move in with him 3 weeks after the break up and bought her an entire new wardrobe and then another two or three weeks later they got engaged - she asked him supposedly..lmao... like what? I am crushed ofc despite being the one who ended the relationship, that I wanted to save, but couldn't and now she is doing this and that guy?
