I LOVE the fact that you always mention substitutes for less common ingredients, and always look for ways to make cooking more approachable. Such a breath of fresh air, compared to certain other food youtubers. There's no reason to make cooking harder than it needs to be, and gatekeeping is only going to discourage people from ever trying. That's why this is probably my favourite channel to go to for recipes for almost all Asian food.

Several of my neighbors kids ended up wanting to come to eat with us when they smelled all the food I was cooking. While I myself grew up in a mostly vegetarian household & have loved tofu in many ways for decades, the neighbor kids absolutely loved it & they thought it waa meat!
Until I explained to them it was tofu. They ate second helpings they loved it so much!

Aaron almost always mentions substitutes - it's one of my favourite things about this channel, to be honest! Certain other cooking youtubers drive me utterly and completely nuts with their "my way is the right way and everything else is HORRIBLE" mentality (I won't mention names, but there are a couple of specific ones I have in mind). There's zero reason to gatekeep cooking, of all things - and Aaron is doing a wonderful job of making it MORE approachable, rather than less so.

I would love a video of all the different sauce variations. So many of them have shared ingredients just in different amounts.

She doesn’t finish all of it. Probably takes a bite or three for the review portion and then set aside the rest for her husband. 😂

YUM. Much more my cuppa tea. I am going to try this one SOON. The normal beef cuts are delicious but honestly when you just want the flavour without the hassle then this is a great compromise.

Great substitute for Shaoxing wine is dry sherry Jerez wine, in my country it's easier to get one than the chinese one while the taste is very similar.
