@@Tstreet91 First off I have to say that this dish is really easy to make and it is really quite delicious - i’ve made it probably a dozen times so far in the last six months or so
Given I’ve made it a few times now I’ve played around with the quantity of the garlic and plum extract (we use apricot jelly) and our family has found it great just as it is in the video - if you don’t want as much garlic I’m sure you could lighten that up but given the sort of braising that takes place in the cooking, the garlic really mellows out

Several months ago, I was craving Bulgogi but didn't have the money for sliced beef. I made up my own recipe that I called "Budget Bulgogi" using ground beef. It is very similar to your recipe, almost identical, actually. I have served it every other week, sometimes with rice and other times with rice noodles. The family loves it and it works for my gluten free son.
All this time, I felt like I was cheating or it was second rate but you have vindicated me!
Also, this is only the 2nd video of yours that I have watched. I intend to watch them all. Thanks for the encouragement to keep cooking!

I sent an IG message to Jacob about this, but want you to see it, too: Last night my Partner decides he wanted Bulgogi. Bulgogi on Labour Day evening. I remembered this video and tried it - my man was iffy about it, but when he saw how much Jacob enjoyed it he gave it a shot "Jake obviously loves it. THAT is a Bulgogi happy face. If Jake likes it that much, I want some!" An hour later, NO leftovers, and he practically licked the bowl clean LOL Thank you both so much for making these videos! I love Korean food anyhow, but my partner was stationed in South Korea with the Army for MANY years and was married to a Korean lady, so we eat a LOT of Korean dishes - and your videos have REALLY helped me learn. We bought a bunch of burger patties for the shelter in place period and were getting tired of burgers so I happened to find this video and tried it out, it turned out really good and my picky wife really liked it. I had to make one small change since I didn’t have the plum extract so I put in a Tbsp of Grand Marnier, since it’s only one Tbsp I’m sure it’s not a huge difference.

What a lovely lady, so original, with the cute accent and the perfect skin. Anyway, I prepared this recipe this evening. I had just about all the ingredients except for the plum extract which I substituted with excellent California grapes. My wife is from Iowa, you know, meat, pork, potatoes, and corn. And, plenty of milk and tons of ice cream. I guess depending on what part of the state you come from. So, this type of food is alien to her. No more! She loved it to the point she said she was going to add more ground beef to her rice. Hahahahahaha... Of course, we both enjoyed it very much and the recipe stays until next time. Thank you very much nice lady. I had a fun time preparing your recipe and my wife gave me a ten out of ten. Keep them coming.

I finally tried this! Substituted mirin with chinese cooking wine (but a little less) and the plum extract with apricot preserves and it was so good! The apricot gave it a little tang too. Highly recommend

You can substitute plum abstract for honey! It worked amazingly; or dare I say…..better 🤭. Idk, I made this recipe a lot of times, and this time was the best. I used the honey and added some red curry paste by Thai! It was incredible!
