Made it twice so far, first time on rice, then tonight on linguine with the addition of broccolini and hot chili peppers. Absolutely stunning, thank you!
Thankyou, it makes me so happy seeing someone show us how to cook without using the most expensive crap when it's not needed. We can't afford meat like we used to so it's lovely to see people give us better options. Can't wait to try this meal. Thx for video, looking forward to more
I'm making your Mongolian beef today with stir celery in pan fried rice paper, served with rice. Meal prep also did rice noodles as an alternative did add bean sprouts on the side for after. Thank you Flo for the solid base for me to create other dishes. You're God sent to all of us
I make a large batch of this ground beef dish every week for my family. Very quick and easy source of protein. Ground beef is also a good source of collagen. I omit the slurry/gravy because I prefer a dry version of the recipe. I also add a tablespoon of both Hoisin and Oyster sauce to the ground beef when cooking. And I omit the sugar. I also add a fried egg and some shredded cheese to the ground beef on rice as an added extra!
@@Cljonesy1185 Great! As a tip, I usually cook up the ground beef by itself first before I add any ingredients. That’s so I can collect the accumulated liquid (almost a bowl full) fat/grease from the wok.
Tried this recipe with rice. Delicious!!!! Then decided to use the leftovers in a cottage pie with mashed potatoes with cooked cabbage in it and some cheese on top. Fantastic! Your options are indeed endless!
quick tip, if you are wanting to use a low fat ground meat, but don't want to miss out on the juiciness of the meat then when making the corn starch slurry, add a packet (about 8 to 9 grams) of unflavored gelatin.
@@derek2593 Where did I mention adding unhealthy fat? Where did I mention cutting out healthy fat. My comment has nothing to do with getting rid of avocados or fish or coconuts. "Low fat" doesn't mean "no fat" ffs, eat more brain food.
Thanks for another Great Dish Flo. Just took Ground Beef out to thaw for tomorrow evening ! I do the same with Green Onion butts during the Summer outside, and starting mid September plant them in shallow pots indoors throughout the winter months ! A lot more economical when prices are seasonally higher.
Thank you Flo and Dude for all you do. I have been watching you guys for years and have used a lot of your recipes thank you. The recipe you just posted is something i have used for a lot of different "holders/bases" from rice wraps to rice. Best one for summer i found is lettuce leaf wraps and even tortilla chips. But I know having a growing son back in the day, anything to fill them up.. God bless you both and thank you again for all you do.
Just discovered your channel and subscribed after the red curry video! These are so calming!! And great recipes of course. Love that there arent too many cuts and love the music when thetaste comes on.
You kind of glazed over it, but you should make a short about replanting green onion butts. The best "hack" I ever learned. I bought two organic bunches of green onions, replanted the bottoms and I have way more than I could ever use, they never stop growing!!
Oh my stars!!! I’ve been searching for this recipe for years!!! We love Mongolian beef but I could never get the taste right. This is going in my recipe box! Thank you!! Thank you!!
Thank you for this wonderful video! Our family invested in lots of ground beef earlier this year! We bought a 1/4 of a cow from a burcher in our area. I priced it all out, and it was a very good bargain! And, it's fresh, local, and cuts out the middleman! The order included some nice staeks and roasts, but lots of ground beef! This looks like a delicious recipe! 😋 It would go well with the garlic eggplant recipe that I have also been watchibg! Our earthboxes have produced a wonderful harvest of Ichiban eggpants this summer!
I’ve done this with a Massaman curry before, I cubed up the potato’s quite small, to mix in with the mince better, but it worked surprisingly well!🤷🏻♀️👍🏼🥰
I am so happy I found this recipe. I've developed an allergy to certain seafood, so now can't eat from our usual Chinese takeout because of their ingredients. I *love* Mongolian beef or chicken, and this recipe looks super easy and fast, done with cupboard items so nothing super fancy. I'll add this to my "everyone wants Chinese takeout but I can't have it" list of foods. Thank you so much! I have definitely subscribed.

Mongolian sauce, beautiful! I make and keep it all b the fridge for instant noodles. Usually put peas and green onions in the noodles, along withe finely dice chicken or beef pieces leftovers. Stunning beautiful sauce. Our granddaughter chopped up some coconut meat for the birds and left it in the fridge covered. I thought it was rice so I put a few tablespoons of it in a dish, added some sauce, mixed it up and then realised it wasn’t rice 🤣🤣🤣. Wasn’t too bad, but the granddaughter was p*ssed that I’d eaten her bird food 😂😂😂. I’m a male!! What do I know about food!! Oh, and I add a tablespoon of Shaoxing rice wine per cup of soy sauce and use brown or dark brown sugar, I’ll try raw and white sugar in future batches, see how it goes. Good timing! I was planning on making bulgogi beef bowl for dinner tonight. With rice and side of pickled cucumber. I would add a dash of sesame oil to the beef at the end. I hear you about boys eating more. I had to add 2 sunny side up eggs to it or else it's not fill him up.

My mouth is going watery just by looking at you cook it. I also wanted to watch the video cause I made something similar to this the other day with ground beef and just wanted to know if I was doing it right. I was, I did. It had about the same ingredients, except for the dark soy sauce, I added a tad bit of rice vinegar. Since this was dinner for me and my grandson and he's not a fan of rice, but loves pasta, I used penne pasta and mixed it with the meat in the wok. It was delicious, I need to make it again. Thank you for sharing I'm loving cooking in a wok type of pan, food cooks quick and fast.
Love this. I am going to try this with ground turkey, and sweet potato starch instead of cornstarch. I don't eat rice, and I avoid wheat, so I may try it with black beans wrapped in nori.
I've made this twice now and everyone loves it. Only thing I changed was to use reduced salt soy sauce as first attempt was way to salty. I was using kikkoman brand. Not sure if brand makes difference but just thought I'd say. Going to be making this every week now. Thanks for the recipe.
My parents use basically the same recipe except with some veg (corn carrots etc) and called it "japanese food" (i am part japanaese). Simple beef stir fry and i have all these ingredients. I love simple recipes 👌 thank you for sharing.
Corn starch and cool water is probably the reason we have "thickening agents" added to everything now. You can even buy xantham gum at the store, if you like everything you make being slick and glossy. Oh! Poutine? Subbed.
