Our family loves bulgogi but can rarely afford it, and a wide range of physical disabilities in the house means making it from scratch is an all-day-teamwork situation... so I surprised them with this tonight. It was heavenly. And it's something we can afford (money wise *and* physical effort/ability wise) to make again and again. This isn't the first time I've thoroughly enjoyed one of your recipes, but it's the first time the aroma brought instant tears of gratitude to my eyes. Thanks for giving my family one of our favorite foods back. Hope your family is doing well.
I make this regularly in the instant pot and add vegetables (mushrooms, bell peppers, leeks, zucchini, carrots, steamed broccoli) to it to make a complete speedy meal. It's a hit !
Love this, I’ve been making this with minced beef, pork or chicken for about a year now. I’m more lazy so I buy 1.5/2 kilo of mince fry it until crisp throw in the appropriate bottle of bulgogi marinade and for every 250 grams a table spoon on Gochujang to spice things up a little. Making a big batch, I freeze the rest in smaller containers and on a lazy night I pull out one container, heat it up and you have dinner in minutes!
dear Flo, I made this for dinner on 6.30.23--It is FANTASTIC! I will never look at chopped hamburger again the same way. Thank you SO much, just delicious. Oh, I steamed some broccoli and added that at the end.
I enjoyed watching this video. Simple and clear directions and I liked her soothing voice as she explained. I will be making this Bulgogi ASAP and I will be following more of her recipes.
I made this last night for dinner. It was awesome. I didn't have mirin, so I used the Chinese cooking wine that I can;t spell. I made extra rice, so tonight I am going to make one of your fried rice recipes. I have leftover back ribs that i will put in it.
My boyfriend was stationed in Korea and loves Korean food. He took me to a Korean restaurant and I love the food now also. I even make my own kimchi and pickled veggies. This is one of our favorite dishes and your recipe is so good. Yummy 😋 Thanks 😊
Oh thank goodness, I was running out of ideas for dinner. I started cooking bc restaurant prices are crazy now, and I’ve been watching your videos. Thank you ❤.
I love bulgogi and this will be a great spin off to try! Speaking of cast iron skillets, I just received my moms...which was her mom's. I'm wondering if you could show us how to clean or season it? I also have her very heavy cast iron Dutch Oven pot. Ohhh I'd love to see more recipes with the cast iron skillet!! 😉🤫😉🙃😊🥰 Enjoy your Sunday!
Often, I just use coarse salt and a paper towel to scrub off any cooked on food. If I’ve made a sauce or gravy, I’ll just use a drop of detergent and a scrubber to clean and dry immediately. I usually just put the skillet on the stove, heat it up and turn it off. The residual heat will fry the skillet. If it needs seasoning, just rub in about a teaspoon of cooking oil with a paper towel afterwards while it’s still warm. Hope that helps!
This method is exactly how my sisters and I do it! Make sure that the pan has cooled down before you try to spread the light coat of cooking oil on the pan with a paper towel after heat drying. Sometimes I am anxious to do that last step so I can put away the pan… don’t get burned!
Flo you are my favorite youtuber ❤. Your recipes have become part of my regular rotation, and my whole family eats them up! I find it funny that my Caucasian kids know how to cook mostly Asian recipes! As a fellow lower mainlander, it makes me so happy to see you succeed. Blessings Flo, and happy Easter (this message comes to you in April 2023).
That’s going on my Sunday dinner prep list. That looks delicious and we will have leftovers which is so impossible since I don’t want to cook every night. Thank you for always sharing your recipes. I send you hugs 🤗
Made this for dinner, added steamed broccoli! Sooo good!! I don't know where in Canada you are, but this low income BC Gramma thanks you, very much appreciate your videos 🥰
I’d never heard of this before! I’ll be making it again (and again!). We had the ground beef in the freezer and everything else was in the fridge or panty and it was DELICIOUS.
Wow!!! so easy, quick, and looks delicious. What helpful ideas for a low-budget meal that could last for several days. I don't have any of those ingredients, but I'll write them down. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Flo, made it last nite. My daughter said it reminder her of the dish she used to get at a Korean restaurant. Didn’t have mirin, went out to buy it today. Making it again tonight!
I made this the other night. I didn't have any ginger or mirin so I added a little more garlic and a little more soy sauce, it was still really really good. And my husband really liked to. So I will be getting the mirin and ginger so I have it for the next time I make it. Might even try a different kind of meat. ❤❤❤
I made this today. It was great :) added a little kecap manis by accident (force of habit because I always add oyster sauce to similar dishes) and it enhanced the sweetness. I also used shallots instead of onion but the flavor was delicious and aroma was good, I didn't have to add the second round of sesame oil. Thank you for the idea!
I really enjoy your channel thanks so much for doing it. I love Korean food and have done the ground beef bulgogi before and made rice balls. Its a delicious meal. I use the korean Chilli pepper flakes to give a tiny spice lol...
I opted to make a different recipe for Stuffed Shotgun Shells but I'm glad I did! It gave me the idea for a way to use this recipe of yours! I have 4 manicotti shells left and what I had in mind was to make the recipe but use it to fill the remaining manicotti shells and then steam them in the Instant Pot. I'd cover them with a big batch of the sauce you made for this. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for so many great recipes!!!! 😀
I ❤️ YOU..... for doin all these "down to earth" recipes (with simple instructions) that any of us, can head out to the supermarket and get! Ps. And you're gorgeous!!!! 😘
I made this recipie of flos a couple times with veg protein crumbles and ordered this dish at a take out place in Philly. I was so disappointed in the take out version compared to my flo version!!! I'm making it with ground chicken tonight!😊
I made this today and it will make a superb burrito/wrap! I did stuff some of it into 4 manicottis but I probably should have given them a minute or two more in the IP. Practice makes perfect! Thanks again for another great one!
Bulgogi is a favorite dish of my son. Mommy might have to prepare this when he comes home for a visit and score some big points!! Thanks for another great recipe, Flo and Dude and kitty, too!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! TFS, Sharon♥️🤗🐈
Yeah, frankly i prefer mince meat more than those steak type. In fact those steak type, one have to cut it into strips too. Will try out this recipe for sure. Looks so yummy. Yes, teenage kids need a lot of nutrients food when they are growing up and this is a good one for their lunch in school. Have a great day to your family.
Mmmm.....I neeeed to make this. With the cold weather this weekend it will the perfect, warming meal for dinner. BTW, was that Kopi or Kaya talking in the background? And how did you have the willpower to not answer? Thank you for the delicious recipe, stay warm!
Doesn't cooking the sesame oil reduce the nutty flavor? If so would adding the TBL of sesame oil more towards the end improve this at all? Like maybe add all of the sauce except the sesame oil while burning-off the liquid & the sesame after? Or maybe a more neutral (less expensive) oil, like coconut then sesame at the end? P.S.: Woks rock...even though I love my cast iron skillets too.
Another quick and delicious, affordable meal for you. Eat well, save money. Happy Sunday! 💕
Is the recipe written anywhere please?

I love the cat talking in the background.
My kind of meal! I will add some shredded carrots to this for color and because carrots love ginger! Many thanks!
I tried your recipe for tonight's dinner.. yummy!! Thanks for sharing. It'll be included in our meal rotation.
Cat in the background 🐈❤️

I do a wilted cabbage and carrot "slaw" on top for a Complete meal. Yum! One of our favorites.
I’ve made this several times. I could make this once a week and still enjoy it. Thanks for something tasty and easy to make.
Just made this for dinner, it was so good especially with a fried egg on top! Thanks so much for this easy recipe! Adding it to our dinner rotation!
I enjoyed watching this video. Simple and clear directions and I liked her soothing voice as she explained. I will be making this Bulgogi ASAP and I will be following more of her recipes.

People are constantly 🙄 complaining here in the U.S. I tell them inflation is a world wide problem. I love making this with peas & carrots

This was delicious, quick affordable, tasty dinner on a week night. This was a hit with my family, thank you!
Ground turkey also does a bang up job for bulgogi. Turkey really absorbs the flavors of the sauce.
Delicious affordable and easy to make, thank you!
Looks delicious, All appealing seasonings and especially the use of sesame oil.
Very nice and quick dish , so versatile too , great thing about mince beef , Thanks , have a great day .
Added diced carrots with the onions yummy😋
This dish is so delicious and so easy! Thank you for making this video! 😊
This dish is soooooo underrated ❤️🏆

I am making this tomorrow. I have ground beef and turkey. Thanks Flo and Dude.
I searched for beef mince recipes and this showed up! Thank you -something different from spaghetti bolognas and hamburgers.

We eat the bulgogi and rice as a lettuce wrap with the saamjang sauce. Try if you like spicy!
Thank you for sharing 🙏
Great job. Looks delicious and inexpensive. My wife (Shanghai) says she'd have to add vegetables. I think it would be good either way.
This recipe checks out. It's delicious.

What type of rice do you use? Would brown rice work?
Mmmm.....I neeeed to make this. With the cold weather this weekend it will the perfect, warming meal for dinner. BTW, was that Kopi or Kaya talking in the background? And how did you have the willpower to not answer? Thank you for the delicious recipe, stay warm!
Thanks so much for this video for those of us without a wok! Looks delicious and want to try it.😊✅
Hi Flo...I love your recipes...Can you suggest what I can use instead of cooking alcohol? We don't get cooking wine/alcohol here in my country
Don't have the Mirin--what would be an acceptable substitute for alcohol-free household? Thank you for all your videos!
Cool I was gonna make spaghetti again but I will try this tomorrow.
a fried egg would go so well on this
