Yep agree both of those brands have some good options! I have several of the Viseart little quads and one of them (Lilas) is mostly very cool silver dusty pink purples, soooo pretty.
I did the same thing with my ND Xenon, removed a black and put in a silvery green from the Retro Glam. I know you have to cover all price levels but I’ve quit buying anything at the low end of the spectrum. I’d rather save time money and have one quality palette. IMO
Yep, I hear ya there. I think one of my number one fave palettes is the ND Yucca one just because the green shimmers in that are better than anything I've ever tried. SO good. I want to make a mega faves palette out of all of her palettes but I'm afraid to mess up the ones I have since I use them to refer to for people on the channel all the time. Maybe someday..
You are so welcome! I’m happy I could be helpful! Next week I’ve got some Fall drugstore eyeshadow palette finds to share and some of them are amazing for only around $10!
Adept x Amy Loves palette is an amazing special shade formula and very cool toned palette. Also Blend Bunny just released a palette called Longing that is all cools and it is stunning. My absolute favorite matte formula of all time
Amazing and thorough reviews! I respect everyone's style of makeup content creation, but sometimes I wish more time was spent on exploring the color stories and who they might work for beyond "this palette is nice, the colors are cool". Even things like mentioning what palettes you pack on trips build a clearer picture in my mind of what kind of palette it is and how it might work for me in my makeup kit. Another fantastic video, thank you Jessica!
My favorite category is cool tone palettes. The best black I have that’s deep is in the Honest palette in the get it together palette. I use it as a liner. The palette is deep and might be too dark for most people but I love it for liners. But that palette has a deep matte black called magnetic ink. Thanks for sharing and love that colorpop palette baroque palette. It’s so beautiful ❤
Ooo thanks for the recommendation on the black shadow! And yes, that baroque palette is probably one of my top 5 fave palettes...the colors are so sophisticated and beautiful. 😍
This is such a great cool-toned video! Some of my cool palette faves: Kaleidos Venus Trap, Too Faced Born This Way Cold Smolder Nudes, Smashbox Cover Shot Eyeshadow Palette: Punked, Flower Knows Moonlight Mermaid Five-Color Jewelry Eyeshadow - Celestial Castle, Revlon ColorStay Day to Night Eyeshadow Quad in Stunning, Kaja Eye Bento Bouncy Eyeshadow Trio in Neutral Moment, Viseart Paris Cool Mattes, and Doll10 Doll Squad Palette 3.0!
Thank you! And thank you for sharing all those awesome recommendations! I totally forgot about my Kaja bento...gotta go dig that out again, it's perfect for cool tones!
I have brown eyes and I actually love those super blue grey smokey colors, it makes my eyes pop. But I see what you are saying, it does go quite well with lighter eyes.
I think if you are very dark eyed but pale skin it can look fantastic for sure! I was thinking of seeing these kind of shades trying to work on someone with a Kardashian complexion and it just being a tough thing to look right. I should've been more specific ;-)
@@JadeGirl73 your coloring sounds beautiful! I often love the Korean style foundations because there is always a very cool almost grayish tone that works great with my coloring, in some ways we actually have very similar color needs when it comes to makeup and definitely need those cooler tones.
The perfect channel for me. I'm fair and cool toned also and i wear only cool tones. For eyeshadows i love indiebrands, but for blushes, lipsticks and other products, i love drugstore, high end and luxury. I love blue, blue-grey, taupes, icy tones and vool muddy-grungy colours on me. I've a bluish-grey undertone and turns into a taupe shade in the sun, very dusty. New subscriber from Germany ❤
Oh shoot! I was editing and trying to remember but it is a mix of things so hard to say. I know I used that new essence meta glow lip gloss in 03 Pink Vision as the topper so that's most of what you are seeing.
These were great recommendations, having cool tone skin but having dark brown eyes and hair I lean opposite of you and really go towards purples, pinks and mauves, with some green/teal here and there. Grey sometimes if it's really dark and sparkly like gunmetal looks good but silvers and blues don't play well around my eyes unless i use them as liner and browns don't make my eyes pop like I want. 😅
Oooh yes those colors would look gorgeous on you and are some of my faves. I can still wear them but have to pick slightly warmer versions for them to not look weird on me, probably due to the red hair being so warm in contrast to everything else being cool. Purples and greens with brown eyes is SO pretty.
@fabianaoliveira3817 Umm, I don't use a lot of pallets because I normally use cream and liquid eyeshadows, I'm 44, and my eyelids are very dry . But I do like the Rose Water pallet from E.L F. Wild Orchards from Revlon and I have tried the Mauve pallet from Kiko Milano and Lottie London, but that one does have a few brown shades. I have heard some good reviews from a few Korean brands that do pink and purple pallets. But I have not gotten to try them. My favorite eyeshadow sticks are from Kiko Milano, and they have some pretty colors in the pink/purple and Mauve. I use the Revlon eye pots in Black Current and Cherry Blossom. And I have a few Colorpop Super Shock shadows in the Shades: Haze, Ripple, Frog, Mountain Lion, and then I have a duo collection with Plot Twist and Main Character. And I love the Butter London sheer serum shadows in Mauve Mist and Rose Petal
Can we talk about how professional and wonderful Jessica is? So genuine and calm and a pleasure to watch. I just came across your video and I am so surprised you only have 3k subscribers! Definitely subscribing! Also, I am a cool toned girlie too! I can't wear anything remotely warm because it turns yellow orange on my fair skin and it clashes with my black hair! Glad you did this video!
This was a really fun and helpful review! That Morphe palette with the silver in the middle…❤❤❤ Thanks for that tip about having a teeny bit of warmth in an eye look. I hadn’t thought of that, and I think that would help me, too. Do you have the Natasha Denona retro glam palette? That one looks beautiful, but it’s hard to tell if the greens are cool or warm toned. I’m not sure if “sage” is cool or warm. I’m probably going to hold out for the rose midi palette, assuming everyone’s predictions are correct and that they’re actually will be one. Lol. I absolutely absolutely adore my Xenon palette!! The first time I tried it, I was like, now that’s how eyeshadow is supposed to work! Where have you been on my life?! I had no idea how easy making an eyeshadow look could be if one simply had the right color undertones!
Thanks! I'm so glad to be helpful! I almost bought the retro glam palette but when I went and swatched it I found that it did something similar to the essence elemental palette on my skin...just too clean of an aqua blue/green to quite look right on me, went sort of mint pepto bismal esp. with the pink tones in there. I feel like it should've looked good but somehow it just didn't so decided to pass on it. I love the gray/brown midtones in it though, super pretty. And to answer your question, sage is definitely a cool toned color, basically a blue undertoned green with lots of gray mixed in. It's a very muted green. At least from what I can see online I think the colors 'evergreen' and 'oz' in the retro glam palette qualify as sage where the others are more 'mint'.
@@redgirlreviews thank you for that description, that’s really helpful! Sounds risky. I’ll be happy with my Xenon palette and wait and see what the rose midi palette looks like, if we get one!

@@redgirlreviews I had a hard time biting the cost for 6 shadows as well. It’s really special though. The formula and the tone mix is really something on the eye and the shimmers are phenomenal.
I always do my eyes last too! I used to do them first but half the time I’d end up hating my eye look and starting over, and I found when I did my eyes last I ended up loving my eye look more often. Couldn’t figure out why that was. Then one day I was watching someone’s video and they did their eyes first and I was thinking how their eye look was not working out lol but as soon as she finished her full look, the eye look was amazing looking! I was like well dang, I guess that’s why I always love my eye looks more when I do them last because I need my full face done! 🤷♀️
I hear ya! I think at least for me I have such dark undereyes and ruddy skin that it throws my color picking off until I get my face in order with foundation and powder/concealer.
@@redgirlreviews same! I have a lot of redness! My under eyes are more like a dark red and bright red than purple/blue like a lot of people. I get a little dark blue in the inner corner, but for the most part my under eyes are just super red and my nose and cheeks have redness. So it definitely throws everything off trying to do an eye look with all that going on! 😂
Dior came out with a limited edition backstage palette last year, Silver Essentials. That was a true cool palette (only one pink is a bit peachy, the rest of the colors are cool) and it was glorious. Im' so happy I scored one. Why they made it limited ed, I have no idea - it would still be selling like hotcakes now.
My all time favorite black matte shadow is ABH Noir single. Unfortunately, I think she stopped making it. If you can find it second hand it’s great. Super pigmented with a slightly creamier formula so it doesn’t kick up as much as Morphe….but you will get a bit of fallout depending on the brush and technique.
