Hiiii remember meee?? 😼💖
@@lillineviellewasherelmao Hiiii Yes. Yes, I do. Yesterday was my Yorkie's birthday. We watched Lion King (He loves that movie.) And calling history.
@@savagedarksider AWEEE TELL HIM/HER/THEM I SAID HAPPY BIRTHDAY 😭💖
@@lillineviellewasherelmao He's A boy. He loves the two princes in the tower; he constantly tries to find them and bring them home.
@@savagedarksider what is your opinion on who my acc is cosplaying as? (Philip V of Spain)
I knew she was Queen of France, but I didn’t know she was Queen of Portugal
Glad I was able to provide you with some new information !
Thank you for telling her story. What a life she led. It is sad that she never got to enjoy a family life eventhough she was married twice and had one surviving child. She truly endured the roller-coaster of the politics of her time.
Thanks for watching Vishnu ! Hope you are well !
@@TheKingsofFrance Thank you. I hope you are well too.
Love all these hidden gems you present to us thank you
So glad you like them Toni !
Hi! I'm from Talavera la Real, Badajoz, Spain.
Eleanor of Austria died in TALAVERA LA REAL (a village next to Badajoz). She travelled to Badajoz because she wants to meet with her husband María there. María declined this meeting. Eleanor, I'll and broken with pain, returned to Yuste with Carlos V and, when she travelled through Talavera la Real, she became very sick and, after 3 days in this village, she died.
Every years, in October, we (the residents of Talavera La Real) put on a play the last days of Eleanor of Austria in Talavera La Real in many places of the village.
Hope this information were useful to you ☺️.
Thanks for watching.
Thank you Nieke, I knew very little about this lady, superb as always. ☺️
Glad you enjoyed the video !
@@TheKingsofFrance Yes Very much,
Actually King Manuel of Portugal negogiated the marriage between Eleanor and his son and heir, Prince João. It is said that the portuguese king found Eleanor so beautiful that he decided to marry her and later he married his son, Prince João, to Catarina, Eleanor 's younger sister. It is also said that Prince João, future King João III, never forgave his father for what he considered a treason.
Thanks for sharing this additional information with us.
Oh the political games of marriage! I wonder if she had been happy with Frederick. Maybe happier than what her life came to be. And her only daughter was haughty towards her! This made me cry. Poor Eleanor! I'm glad she had good relations with her siblings. Thank you so much for telling about her life! I enjoed the pictures too, as allways ❤️
Her only surviving daughter was also left behind as a baby, and never had any proper contact with her mother. Her life, and the possibility of marriage, were hampered because of her position at court. She lived in a limbo. She was one of the wealthiest women of her time, and her dowry would have left the Portuguese treasury basically bankrupt. This made her both a very coveted bride and a pawn the Portuguese Court could not let go of. In Portugal, we refer to as Sempre Noiva, the Ever Bride.
Now bare in mind that this woman was one of culture and no little girl by the time she actually met her mother. She should have been Queen of a European nation, yet her mother's inheritance was what kept her from it. Her mother, who was queen of two countries in her life, and spent several years in Spain while Maria was young. Both the Portuguese and the Spanish courts kept these two apart for decades, and then kept Maria from getting married. Can you really blame Maria for not holding affection for a woman that was only present in her life for the first year of it? She wouldn't even have memories of her mother.
@@pipitameruje it was not Eleanors fault that she had to leave her behind. So why blame her. And the daughter was woman. She should have known better.
@@mimfi Neither was it Maria's fault. Her haughty attitude might have been a way to shield herself. I'm not asking you to forgive her, nor to take sides. I am merely shedding a little light on the full picture.
@@pipitameruje thank you so much for taking another perspective. You seem to be a very kind person. 😊👍❤️
Thanks as always, Maarit !!!

Love your video's! Maybe you could do a video about the (3) musketeers or the platonic mistresses of Louis xiii? Keep up the good work❤️
Thank you for the suggestions, I'll see what I can do !
Wonderful as always 🎉! Merci 🌸♥️!!!
Thank you so much Christine ! 🌻
Brilliant! She had an interesting life- not exactly easy tho, especially having to leave her baby daughter in Portugal, & it's kinda interesting but sad that so many of her female relatives had really tragic lives; #1 probably being her mother Juana. I didn't know Henry VII was considering a marriage between Eleanor & Henry VIII tho!
Glad you liked the video, thanks for watching again !
Great video, actually all of them you do. I especially loved all the images in this video sone of them I have never seen before. Thank you 👍

5:01 painting is some nightmare fuel right there. Looks like the sort of thing you see in a dive bar in Florida
How could Eleanor of Austria and Castile and Francis the First of France have kids when they spent so little time with each other
Poor Eleanor!
Thanks for watching Marina
I can see from these portraits of the Hapsburgs that the Hapsburg Jaw was already a common problem in the first half of the 16th century. It's hard to imagine that they made it all the way to the end of the 17th century before the Spanish branch died out due to all the inbreeding. Thank you for sharing these details of this woman's life. Quite interesting.
Glad you liked it Bev!
I think it was the occasional 2nd3rd cousin marriage that may have saved them. The early-mid 1500s had two second cousin marriages that gave them juuust enough new blood to survive
I follow you on Instagram, but I don't have TikTok. Do I miss anything on there? Loved this video, btw.
Not really, I wanted to see if people would be interested there but I'm gonna drop the tik tok angle anyway. I think the people on that platform want to see different things... I still am planning on working out my Instagram channel but for now with life in general, I'm just glad I have the time to keep this channel up and running.
I sure wouldn't have wanted to be married to Francois Premier. Just saying.......
