I’ve never body boarded but I snorkel and swim and recently moved closer to the ocean and want to try my body at boarding. These videos give me greater confidence plus the waves aren’t spectacular but enough for a good afternoon adventure. ☺️
This was a great video. Video idea: could be reacting to a highlight reel or something cuz I think the reacting makes great content. Quality of videos is getting better and better every vid🤙🏻
Dave, I support your suggestion. It is a great way to learn - having experienced persons comment on others actions and options. “An intelligent person learns from their own mistakes. But a wise person learns from the mistakes of others !”
man, love your reactions. That nose butt to the flowrider looked worse everytime you played it. More of these vids please! i'm bound to make it on there one day... always getting slammed
Fun to watch you react to these fails. I'd love to watch you do a similar video focused on intermediate/advanced boarders in heavier conditions like the breakdown you did on the Chopes guy in this video. Would be helpful and entertaining for everyone intent on improving their skills safely.
Thank you Ian! You are making my life much easier, safe and fun in water! Once, I went to body to a spot ( in Antofagasta) to feel like "she hero" 😅😣 or to prove myself but I almost drown and left the spot crying. Thanks for educating!
Really excellent reaction video! Many of those looked bloody painful, but I did laugh at the skimming one where he faceplanted the sand, I was like "WTF are you doing!!!" lol I couldn't help worrying about many of them though, my anxiety hit the roof on some
Great video Iain (and Rosie). Thank you too for the sage advice .... “Never turn your back one ocean” are words to LIVE by. (An alternative to ‘never turn you back on the ocean’ is ‘always recognise your own immortality’ ?)
No.3 How did he survive that rock jump!? I think there are some broken bones there , EASY! I enjoyed your reactions too, not overboard and no swearing. Keep it up
No that’s definitely Waimea with the rocks in the back like that. Keiki only has one rock that extends out while Waimea has some scattered rocks out the back...
Oh my gosh no! Exactly.. I really feel sorry for these beginners.. thank God for bodyboard vids from the 80's and 90's were I got and learned lots from
@@iaincampbell_ Right on, would be great to see you. Wedge has so many observers. Wish they setup grandstands on bigs days. Those waves get so crazy on a big swell over here. Any chance you post where you're visiting? UA-cam, twitter or anything??
Another nice tip is that you should never put your board, when you're standing, between you and the wave. Chances are that the wave is always stronger than you, so the board will likely hit your face
hello Ian, you could make videos reacting to videos submitted by us, and say what we could improve, like wave line, position, maneuvers, etc. continue with the videos! very good content
Hi Ian, As you already know I’m a big fan of your work . But this episode is definitely not my cup of tea. I have seen by the past few videos of kook life and it’s quiet funny. Maybe it’s because I have been bodyboarding for more than 30 years. I think there is nothing to learn in this type of videos except having a good laugh for few ones. Maybe again I missed the purpose of your episode. Continue to do what you do best. Talk about of our sport and show us your amazing skill. I think showing us your area the environment the beaches where you surf should be great. Do you have a friend who use a drone ? It could be great to see the landscape where you leave and surf. Thanks again for all the amazing stuff you have shared with us. Aloha ! 🤙🏾
Thanks Alexandre. I understand not everyone is going to like my videos I put out and that’s all okay. All I am trying to do while I cannot currently surf or leave my house for long periods of time is get some content out that can help educate and teach people. I am in the process of getting a drone as well as some new lenses and a few things for the channel next year. I have been really sick recently so it’s been tough for me to get new ideas done when I am feeling so bad. Hope you understand that helping people and educating them with a bit of a laugh like in this video is what I am really passionate about. Keep well and hope you enjoy the next one. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I can relate to the girl in the "washing machine", I did the same during the last summer on a similar shorebreak... Plus I only wore a rashguard, so I also got a free skin scrub all over my legs. LOL that hurts!
A large problem with majority of any kind of surfer today is they have no surf etiquette! Look both ways before you cross the street! 🤦♂️And the upcoming Groms are the worst. Like their parents never taught them etiquette in the water
Yes I agree this is a big problem and that is what I am trying to help people understand is that the ocean is no joke and you could really injure someone if you are stupid in the water...
@@iaincampbell_ Mother Nature is very dangerous and all of us as fellow surfers need to try to minimize risks to each other. Thanks for doing your part in trying to educate the ignorant :) love from Hawaii!

Hi. As much as I love this idea, I am very far away from there. I live in South Africa, so that’s a bit of a mission right now 😉🤣✌🏼
Rock jumps can be so dodgy, also getting in at some reef breaks is just as bad. I hate barnicles and sea urchins!
