I’m 52, been boogie boarding since I was a kid, this year, I was sore after the 1st 3 hour run. Thanks for the pre-play workout. Next year I will be battle-tested and ready.
Just getting back into bodyboarding and having been doing these exercises for the last few years feeling ready 💪 Been doing a lot of yoga as well which I’m hoping will come in handy
6:57 - This is a great routine. What would you recommend for say a 52+ bodyboarder who's just getting back full-time in water - namely how many sets, reps in each, and how many days a week? TIA
Thanks again Iain i should be able to do most of the exercises the skipping and the last one of the six are not possible because of my recent knee replacement surgery. Looking forward to getting started on these while on lockdown 👍🌊
Just finnished exercise when I whatched this. Its videos like these that target a specific sport(which in the case of bodyboarding are quite rare) that allow you to realise how much your doing right, but even more so how much your doing wrong. Thanks for the insight bru.🤙 Also Im trying to get my hands on a pair of mapuku pros like yours, any recomendations as to where I should order from as a south african. Keep it up ian🤙💪🏽
Great to hear! Unfortunately I have no idea where you could get them in SA. But maybe check out their website for a possible shipment straight from the USA.
Question Ian, Should I get a leash with a velcro rail saver? I've never used one. Are there disadvantages to them? For some reason I like the idea of a lightweight leash so no rail saver but maybe I should give it a try.
Iain Campbell it allows you to quickly detach/attach the leash off the board without untying the leash string. It’s on the “TOOBS PRO BICEP COIL LEASH.” I’m using it on your red board, I could see long term the velcro going bad.
Great vid Iain! It’s so good to get bodyboarding specific tips like this. I was just wondering about your lunges, I have always seen them done by stepping forward where you step back. Is there a particular reason for this? Is it better for bodyboarding?
Hi Nick. Thanks. There is no right or wrong way here. I prefer to step back as it’s a little less pressure on the knee and coming out of a knee injury that works a bit better for me.
Thanks Iain for that epic vid...I’ll be doing that training for sure! If you don’t mind me asking, do you ride a 42 or 43 inch board? I’m trying to figure out what general size you pros ride as I’m wanting to try be as buoyant as possible. Cheers!
Thanks so much. I am currently riding a 42 inch board but I may drop down a little to 41.75 with my new boards. Also to put it in perspective I am 182cm tall and weight 75kgs.

All depends on your fitness level. Hard to say as I have no information about you or your fitness.

I don’t know what you mean by Velcro rail saver.

@@Hindsight46 We have not got that on our leashes... It makes the leash that much longer and adds another unnecessary connection that could fail!
Amazing
very good!

Iain Campbell thanks for the reply! Yes that definitely helps me as I’ll either ride a 42 or maybe slightly less! Cheers!

How many reps for each jump rope set?
Thanks in advance
I usually do between 100-150 reps. But depending on fitness levels.
