How To Hold Drumsticks Like A Pro

- There are a million videos on "how to hold drumsticks" out there already. So what is different about this one?
While there is a certain textbook way of holding a pair of drumsticks (the goal is to hold the drumstick in the most natural and relaxed way possible), the ways to achieve this grip can be very different. Most drum teachers have a distinct way of teaching this grip which resolves around a balance point, a fulcrum and/or the very specific positions of your fingers on the stick. This approach does usually more harm than good. First: there is never a one-size-fits-all way of things, since not only people but also people's hands can be very different. Second: constantly worrying if you do the "right" thing keeps you from focussing on being relaxed.
There are a number of really easy ways to get your very own perfectly relaxed grip and GUESS WHAT: if you're relaxed, all your fingers will end up in the perfect positions anyway. So why make things harder and more technical than they really are? In this video, I'll show you how to hold drumsticks like a pro - in the most natural und relaxed fashion possible.
However, the actual problem is not achieving the grip itself, it is maintaining this grip while hitting a drum. If you were constantly gripping your sticks too tight before, you probably know how hard it is to not fall back into bad habits immediately. So I'll show you a nice little DRUM HACK that will guarantee you perfectly relaxed strokes 100% of the time!
