    Looks like the passenger was hanging onto a bar for the bimini top..which likely brought it down. And which is likely why he wasn't in the boat at round two. Captain gave him the boot! Walk the plank kid!

    • @craigerking9790
      @craigerking9790 4 роки тому

      @@blackhawks81H flotation foam has nothing to do with what I'm talking about and it actually makes the ride a little worse in this case since the boat will sit higher in the water and also have more of a tendency to blow the bow up if it gets air compared to a boat without floatation foam. The difference is very minimal but there is a difference. Also like you said everyone uses floatation now and plenty of companies were in the process of it while Boston whaler reveled it. They were just the first to revel it, they didn't find some new crazy thing no one knew about. A good captain can zip zap a little boat like that whaler through just about anything.. haulover is an extremely rough inlet but some of these captains in huge ship have no idea what to do. The main thing is to try keeping on the plane with a bit of trim & throttle the next thing is timing & knowing where the smoothest part of the inlet. Also sometimes punching on & off the throttle & zip zap through. You need to be very aware of what the water is doing

    That 17ft Montauk hull from 86 on through the 90's I think is still the best Whaler they have made. Responsive fast handles great in any type of sea great boat.

    Some of these people must be using this inlet for practice. At least somewhat controlled and close to help if something went sideways.

    Two things:
    1 Why aren't these people wearing at least inflatable PFDs? (too tough / cool to drown?)
    2 Your VHF antenna may look cool swept back, but are near useless if you need it
    Looks like a lot of fun in a boat like that whaler
