My brother-in-law was a commercial fisherman in the 80's. My sister is 10 years older than I. I used to like spending summers with them. So I really enjoy watching your videos...takes me back, and it's just so pleasant and entertaining. I appreciate the lack of commentary and musíc.
Boat #1 - clear demonstration of what a flares bow is good for. Boat #2 - another boat meant for a lake should have stayed inside, and dang, I thought he was going so good at first then panicked and pulled back on the throttle. @8:00 contender shows how to get in an inlet without swamping and without stress fractured hull - great job Capt!

I had to leave the job bc the volume of pissed off customers was overwhelming. I could go on and on about all the problems I saw behind the scenes.
Thanks for taking the time to video record these interest situations where there is a tango with boat/yatch and water. This actually helps me wind down for rest ironically. Keep up the great work.
wow... what a great video! what day of the week was this filmed? rare to see so many competent captains actually using their boats the right way in or out of the inlet! Pleasantly surprised at how many did it right!
Hi there. I know it is a bit late but just watch the video and I was wondering about what would be the right way of crossing this inlet. Would u please explain? ELI5 if possible 😅
This and every other Haulover video shows two really basic errors: no lifejackets and a belief that you can somehow defeat big waves by using maximum power. Seamanship absent on both counts! Bill Dixon
