- Matthew Wright is baffled by caller Chantelle comparing the Black Lives Matter protests to the far-right riots in the UK.
Chantelle tells Matthew that she was part of the BLM protests and that the behaviours on show were not too dissimilar to what we're seeing across the country now.
However, Matthew disputes this comparison, suggesting that it's misleading to equate the two.
He argues that "rioters cannot be compared with protesters," emphasising that the motivations behind these actions are fundamentally different.

Edit: I hear everyone's point but I'm sorry if you are comparing a group that is actively against YOUR parents/grand parents having provided the life they've given you by being immigrants, to which the disdain is so strong to the point they are instigating violence... to a Group that was protesting fair treatment of YOUR skin colour or at the very least accountablity and justice at abuse of power... They aren't even in the same remit let alone Group to be in the same comparative group. Even if you think she's wrong, as I do, she sounds Black. Maybe 'Chantelle' isn't her real name, but assuming it is, it's not a name that's very common outside the Black community.

@@lawrencehaynes6408ie she has an ethinc sounding voice I’m mixed race I’m very cockney and I get mistaken for white when on the phone, but I will say she has a black British accent, not all black people have this but a proportion do especially from the inner city areas of London ie Hackney, Peckham, lewisham etc. I just happened to grow up in a time and an area when that accent did not exist, but when I travelled down to see my cousins in Northumberland park Tottenham they would ask me why I sound the way I do.

BLM marches were mostly peaceful. Police weren’t attacked, communities weren’t burned, and people weren’t killed or beaten up. The same goes for the Free Palestine marches.

Definitely two tier policing, the police ran away from the rioters in Leeds.
That does not mean it’s two tier policing. That was something that quickly escalated and they were just attacking the police so as the police didn’t have the numbers to deal with it they withdrew so they could make arrests later. That’s just the police on the ground dealing with as best they can.
There’s only one tier of over simplifying things.

In her defense, she wasn't really given the chance to speak. If you ask a question, at least have the common courtesy to allow callers to finish their point. After that, do as must.

While I have my own contentions with the BLM ideology, it is utter lunacy to liken the BLM protests to these riots. For starters, many of the BLM protesters in the UK were from all backgrounds, including white English vicars. Secondly, innocent civilians were not being hospitalised, medical professionals were not being subjected to physical and verbal abuse, and buildings housing children and elderly people were not being set alight. There really is no comparison.
This interviewer is really bad. Polls show the majority of people don't agree with mass migration or think illegal migration is one of the biggest issues.
He then goes on to strawman her point about anti-migration being a core element of the protests that turned into riots and shift the focus on the rioters opposed to the political message.
She then claims they are similar to BLM, and he responds by saying "there were no riots" an outright lie. Plenty of footage and documentation backing up the damage of the BLM protests.
Very shoddy interview. 3/10, 2 points for allowing someone on the opposite side to speak, and 1 point for making me write a comment.

If rejected, only then do you become an illegal immigrant. 80% of asylum claims are accepted, so only a minority of those coming by dinghy will ever be considered illegal immigrants in the eyes of the law.
