Thing is this railway is not really meant to last a life time. When I can afford to get my own place with a garden, it will be left to my dad to do what he wants with it, and he may choose to dismantle it. To be honest though, he is the kind of person who likes having to mend things anyway, gives him something to do haha

use plastic for the rails to run on not wood it degrades after a few years and then rotts away plasic will last a life time

And just in case you meant the sleepers of the track itself, I'm using Peco Sm32 track so they are plastic, with Nickel Silver rails.
