My Little Ruston

This video shows the building process of the latest kit purchased for the Hillfield Light Railway, a 'Bole Laser Craft' Ruston & Hornsby 44HP in 32mm gauge. It also shows the model running on the railway.

Lovely little vid :) How much can the Ruston model actually pull though?

My line is quite hilly so I can't give a fair answer. I does fine with 3 talyllyn coaches but starts to struggle after that.

would a mains voltage dropper not work with 9 volts

It would, but I am not really interested in having any of my 16mm scale models being powered from the track. I am personally finding battery powered model to be more appealing, as it means I have to do very little track cleaning before I can run anything.
