Same here. Just happened to run across this brilliant channel at the start of the season. Wish I’d discovered it sooner.
The relationship between TAG Heuer and McLaren can be explained by the role of Mansour Ojjeh (who recently died) with Mclaren. He was a major stakeholder in McLaren and was from the founding family of the brand TAG. TAG sold off the TAG Heuer brand some time ago, since then no TAG Heuer branding is seen on McLarens.
Wasn't it some Saudi company that bought it out?

You forgot to mention the Tag Heuer Monaco is 6 - 7 times more expensive than the other Tag Heuer watch.
Modern Tag Heur is now just a fancy 'Mall watch', much better things out there at the same price point

Great video Kym, absolutely love it. Thanks for doing this, however would have loved to have seen more about Bremont. Great watch company which are often over looked by the watch snobs. Congratulations on the Rolex, I too recently was invited to buy a Rolex after playing the AD game.

Really enjoyable video. I'm a huge F1 fan and also a wristwatch enthusiast. It's incredible how Richard Mille has really taken over the F1 world. Another F1-related person who wears RM is Martin Brundle. They get even more exposure when he's on camera on Sky.

Renault engines were rebranded as tag Hauer engines in the last few years of rb and renault relationship.
It was TAG, not tag heuer
Porsche engines were branded TAG in the 80s.

We always find it funny to watch the F1 drivers scratch their faces every time they have an interview to show off their watch.
Yes there is a Girard-Perregaux logo ("GP") on the left arm of Aston Martin drivers' suits, which are the logos of Ravenol, Pirelli, Replay, GP and NetApp.
Aston Martin too has a watch face on the gloves.
And Girard perregaux's logo on rear view mirrors and also on the fireproof underwear.

Kym, thanks for the video. If you don't already know, you might be interested in researching Jack Heuer's original involvement in racing and F1 in particular. As I remember he would give away free Heuer watches to drivers if they wear his watches. This was long before TAG's involvement and purchase of Heuer. I join your other fans in congratulating you on the Rolex.

I've been waiting over 3 years for a Rolex Daytona for over 3 years. In the meantime I've added a Tudor blue Pelagos and a GMT II Batgirl (I like the jubilee bracelet better than the oyster). May add an Explorer II if the anniversary model is released and it looks good. All of these are great investments. A Daytona is $13500 from an AD but now demanding $37K in the aftermarket. Some people prefer not to wait.

I tried on a Rolex Daytona in 2012. Just wasn't my thing and I think they are very, very overhyped. Paul Newmans ghost doesn't help with keeping the prices controlled. I opted for a 50th anniversary Sea-dweller - from an AD - in the end in March of this year. I too bought the blue Pelagos for more of a everyday vibe.

Gio's blue "watch" is a WHOOP Strap. Pretty intense fitness tracker. I have one of those. Probably one of the few things that F1 drivers have that I have and can afford!

Once again, another nice video. I like this as a follow up to your last watch video. Curious, do any of the teams/drivers (even lower teams, F2) or even you, use smart watches?
Some of the drivers wear Garmin type watches and I have an Apple Watch because it’s easier to see messages while I’m on track shooting
Giovinazzi has an Whoop fitness strap which is made only in USA and distributed in a couple of selected countries in Europe.

Kym, nice grab on the Daytona. That's a really classy watch. I own an eclectic assortment of watches. My grandfather's gold Longines he bought when he made enough money after being a refugee from after the 2nd WW. My Nomos Tangente sport, a Smiths ...I always end up buying stuff I know I will probably never see on other people's arms. You should buy a Russian watch when you are passing through Moscow. Some of them are really funky and inexpensive.
I'd love to see the vintage Longines, I hope it is insured. You can buy Vostock (Russian) watches now, they're made in Lithuania and go by Vostock Europe
I remember reading a story a year or so about Russian watches. Can’t remember the brand though.

Mille and Hublot are way out of my budget and quite frankly I think their design is not impressive. I love my big bell & Ross BR01 much better. Snagged my wife a 31mm date just in Scottsdale Az and it’s a beauty.

Actually the Daytona is not that difficult to get (but you do need some history with the dealer ;) ). if you are new to a dealer, suggest you will buy a full gold daydate and they often allow you to directly purchase a Daytona
IWC watches are also on the dashboard of many Mercedes road cars
Even Aston Martin gloves have watch faces ⌚ on it.

I find this very interesting because I've never paid attention to their watches so I'm impressed that this leads to more sales, especially considering these watches are worth way more than my car (Fiat Punto). Are there that many people that buy a watch of over $1000?
Yes, a lot. I have recently bought a Panerai Luminor to add to my collection of Tudor Black Bay and AP Royal Oak!
Yes mate, lots of people. I have a Rolex, a Bremont, a Tudor and a Breitling. However, I also have a Marathon T-SAR dive watch and a few G Shocks. Ignore the watch snobs, go with whichever watch your heart tells you. $1000 buys a lot of nice watch don't believe all the hype
yeah I mean you have teams like Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes - their cars aren't exactly cheap either

I have had a TAG F1 Chrono for several years, Orange face. Very few must have been sold because never seen another one anywhere. Love it, and the orange face is a classic, perfect orange, and gets comments when people notice it. Around $1,200 US. My only piece of jewelry/watch after my wedding ring. I don’t baby it - I wear it to work, grabbing stuff at the lumber yard, or just out. Tells the time and that’s what it’s for. Perfect.
