One of the great things about Toto is despite these kinds of fairly innocuous questions he _always_ has something interesting to say. The scared karting kid in the rain thing was fascinating, because you can tell he knew It and meant it.
and it is totally right. These drivers usually start at age 5-6, so it isn't their dream, it's their parents' dream (at that point)
@@Inferiis yeah and imagine having that kind of pressure from a young age. Especially the drivers with poor backgrounds. Their families sacrifice everything for the chance at them being successful. Must be overwhelming to say the least. I'm an adult and I cant even cope with normal pressure.
You should watch the Nico Rosberg video with Toto. It's a podcast/video, and it's pretty long. But I liked it. Toto is a really interesting human being.

He broke the record on his outlap (Sabine Schmitz was the previous GT car record holder) already. He actually planned to race in Nurburgring 24 hour that year and the Lap record attempt was the preparation. But it turns out to be his last competitive event as a driver. He was lucky a Marshall found his unconscious body quick enough. It was during his rehabilitation that he started to develop relationships with Sussie

Toto describing F1 drivers as traumatized little kids left out in their karts in the rain is too much truth to handle. That was very funny but also very dark. These drivers start so young, so much of their childhood is dominated by their career. It's an awe-inspiring show of determination in reaching their dreams.... but it's sad too. :(
made me think of the Bottas stuff, from where he almost didn't show up to a race due to all the hate he was getting on socials.

It’s interesting to see Russell pretty much getting a job offer from Marcin. In the event of a major regulation change, it wouldn’t be foolish for George to look elsewhere for the next big powerhouse team, and any team with George has the potential to become that powerhouse. There’s no question that Russell and Ocon would be an insane pairing with the form that Ocon has developed recently.

@@HansWurst1569 Not to downgrade Mercedes drivers but I think any driver would perform better in a Mercedes car once they figure everything out. Max would probably need some time to adapt to a Mercedes but in my humble opinion, after some time I do think Max would perform better than George if they drive the same Mercedes car, especially in the rain.
