This is the tutorial that I wanted to see the most, and now I have something to refer back to while I practice. Thank you very much for doing this. Your art inspires me so much and the way that you explain and demonstrate each step is perfect. Once again, thank you. 🫶🏽🎉
Wow, you are clearly an excellent artist and teacher!! You are rare because you are able to clearly, easily and quickly explain each drawing process for your designs. Also, you get right to the point instead of talking about stuff that has nothing to do with the drawing process that you're showing. You're drawings are beautiful. I'm going to practice this ribbon drawing. In the beginning, I'm sure it'll take a lot of concentration on my part B4 it becomes easier. Thank You so very much for sharing your drawing techniques through your great videos!! The fact that you choose to Share your great drawing techniques means that you're a good person as well.🙂
Wow thank you so much! Some of my artist friends in the past have told me to keep my methods “a secret”, but that has never appealed to me. I want other people to be excited about art. I want to share. Thank you for your kind words. It really means a lot to me ☺️.
You're very welcome. Yes, many artists can be like that. Imho, I think that techniques are only one part of becoming a really good or great artist. It's also about what each individual creates & how they use these techniques. And, lastly, each individual "artist" may be able to copy another's drawing, but it will not be the exact same because someone else created it. Hope this makes sense....lol 🙂
Glad I could help! I don’t suppose you remember what they call their version of this? I didn’t know this was a tangle but I’d like to see how theirs differs.
I've been making the flat kind of ribbons for years but your technique of making them more dimensional and fat is great! Thanks again for another super useful video! Really appreciate your teaching!
Ribbons! Ribbons give me such a hard time, so thanks for this. I bought the pens from your link and I’m glad I did. Very inexpensive and really nice to draw with.
Hi Betsi thank you for your wonderful drawings and for sharing your knowledge. I love your ribbon work. Could you please clarify what a vanishing point is. Thank you
Thanks for this tutorial - your ribbons in your drawings are beautiful !! Now I have a place to start - I always struggle with shading to get that 3d effect.
Wonderful! I hope this tutorial helps 💜. Keep in mind this can be tricky for some. If you find the design difficult, take a break and try again. You can get there.
Wow, Betsi, you made it so clear! Your instruction helps me understand the concept so quickly! I am going to pick up my pen and try it now! (At the same time, still working on the others!,) love your work❤
@@betsi_jae I wonder if you can do a part two of this pattern. I can do the simplest curve, but once I change the direction or the angle if the crude, I lost it…. I try to imagine how the cloth would fold, but it’s easier said than done.
You will get there… When I studied higher mathematics, there were certain topics that were extremely difficult for me. I literally cried every time I had to do them, it was that difficult for me. My brain just couldn’t handle it, but over time it started to click. I would get frustrated when I saw others “getting it” so quickly. We are each on our own journey, though. Sometimes the task may be difficult, but your mind will adjust and you come out better for it. 😌
@@betsi_jae Thank you. There are so many patterns that I catch on to very quickly, but I just can't seem to get my brain wrapped around this one. I will get it though. I just have to keep practicing.
This is exactly how I feel about them😊. Betsi's explanation is so clear it’s almost frustrating that I can’t replicate the process. I can see the back lines but struggle to see the front lines. I’m sure we’ll both get there though and I’m going to Dance around when I do.
I can’t get the hang of where to draw the first lines going down to the vanishing point - identifying what are “edges”. I don’t have any artistic background but like doodling. Just starting!
This one can be a tough-y for lots of people. I'm going to post a new video soon showing how I draw this one. Stay positive. You'll get in due time 💜💜💜
@@betsi_jae Thanks! Your directions on the video are clear. I just feel like there’s a trick to it that I’m not seeing yet. It’ll click eventually. Another video would be great though! 🙂
I’m sorry. I can relate. My glasses have a really strong prescription , so without them everything is intensely blurry. I hope you can get the issue resolved.
Oh thanks so much for the new videos tutorials whatever,I am addicted to your drawing style and am learning so much, but these ribbons,oh these dang ribbons, gonna take much practice and trying and retrying 😂😅😊❤..will let ya know when one works🙏my muse is like nope ain’t doing it,but we gonna..lol

I didn't even see the caption, just the picture that came up in my feed and I thought, wow that is very organic. LOL

Right now I can only do I side. I have to get my head around it to curve the other side😅

@@46rebecca I will see if I can find another way to show you how to do it 💜
Merci beaucoup 💜
Dang it,can’t get these ribbons,but I love them😢
Have you tried making the simpler version?
This is amazing. I am going to perfect this if it kills me. And it may. I am having such trouble with these ribbons.

This is brilliant. How do you come up with so many designs?
Thank you 😊. I just look around and pay attention. I also think I honestly can't help it.

After doing it for a period of time, it just becomes natural.
