Borrowing armies is particularly good for High Elves since they have to rely on diplomacy to confederate. By borrowing armies from the faction you are looking to confederate it strengthens your faction while at the same time weakening the allied faction which can sometimes be what pushes them over the edge into confederation, especially when they are pretty close to confederating. You can also use their armies to conquer settlements that you would rather have or vice versa conquer and then gift settlements that you don't want which also causes them to like you more. In my current Imrik campaign I used borrowed armies to increase my faction strength in order to more easily confederate Lothern and Yvresse.

I am not sure I would want to be allied to Legend in this game.....
The starting rant about a pointless expedition only to then go after Red terrain. 😅 Also, I think, the AI values your latest captured settlement less in a trade, so conquer one more before trading off previous settlement.
People always say that you should fight the AI honorably. Well, the AI is cheating, so why shouldn't you?
If both sides are cheating, that sounds pretty honorable to me.
You can make them not cheat lol.
I know why, he want to go after that dragon booty in cathay
