For me, it'll be 4 at no.1, then 1 in 2nd, and 2 in 3rd place. With an honourable mention to Houses of the Holy. But I love them all, for me Zep are one of those rare bands like The Doors, who never wrote a bad album in my book. Hammer of the Gods indeed! 🔥🍻🤘
I'd got tired of Stairway... before I even knew who Led Zeppelin were. LOL Led Zep IV is the one I play the least. Sure it has some of my favorite Zep songs on it (Rock And Roll, The Battle Of Evermore and Going To California), but as an album I think it lacks the strength that all other Led Zep albums have. I think it is only as popular as it is because it has Stairway... on it. Wow, that took me by surprise. Presence. You know how you pointed out that Zeppelin were not metal but hard rock. I've always felt that Presence comes closest to being metal out of all their albums. If John Bonham hadn't have died when he did I'm quite sure anything they made in the 1980s would have headed into more of a metal direction. Going back to that first Zeppelin album, have you heard Jeff Beck's Truth album from 1968? It lays very close to Led Zep I IMO. Bluesy, a hint of psychedelia, but all out rock. Those two albums have a shared history so I guess it's not so surprising they sit so well against each other. Also, have you heard the Small Faces first album released in 1966? I can't listen to that album without hearing shades of what Zeppelin would go on to do on their early records. Listen to 'You Need Loving' by the Small Faces to hear what I mean. Brilliant video as always Richard. My favorite Led Zepp record is House Of The Holy. It was my first and has always been my favorite, though Physical Graffiti comes in a close second. Cheers
Thanks for the feedback.Yes,i have that Beck album and as you say, very Zep like. Was always a bone of contention,Beck saying that Zep stole his ideas etc. Houses of the Holy is indeed a great album, just one that for whatever reason never resonated like my top 3. Interesting point about them heading into a metal direction although if you listen to In Through The Out Door,it sounded very electronic and almost dare i say commercial. Sadly we shall never know. About to start a fire for an evening braai (barbeque to you). Stay well and thanks again for the cool feedback.

....as jaded as one might get about a song like "Stairway to Heaven", this version never gets old for me! 🤘😯 ua-cam.com/video/2cZ_EFAmj08/v-deo.html
One of the greatest cover versions ever indeed. Not a song to cover lightly. The joy on the faces of the remaining members is brilliant.
Heart have always worn their Zeppelin influence on their sleeves. Their first album, Dreamboat Annie could almost be a female fronted Zeppelin.
@@johnbellamy3406 Hi there.Dreamboat Annie is a great album and yes very Zep like.
