Huge compliment! Thank you so much 🥰
Hi Amy, Wes, Rufus and Dupes, How great it is, now that you are finally on the Thames. It must have been fantastic swimming in it when the Heatwave was on. Your visit to Oxford looked amazing. Shame the facilities were non existent when you cruised all that way to use them.. Dupes looked so chilled as you cooled him off. Rufus seemed to be loving Thames life. Great idea about the safety footwear. Always a super watch. Thank you guys for another great Vlog. Hope your engine is OK. Take care and have a great week.
Yes we absolutely loved Oxford, and river swimming was a great experience! I think both pets enjoyed being out in the middle of nowhere on the river 😊 thanks again as always! Take care too!! 💗
What an adventure! I do hope you had a small reserve store of water, or a water butt to collect some of that rain... Can't wait to see more river adventures 😂
Thanks! 🥰 we don’t I’m afraid, but we’ve normally got some sort of sustenance to get through 😅 can’t wait to share more with you!
Another brilliant episode in your mad mad world . Love it . Clever wee Rufus getting on and off the boat on a plank x
Thank you! 😃 yeah we were pleasantly surprised by Rufus’s plank skills! X
Thank you! 😃 yeah we were pleasantly surprised by Rufus’s plank skills! X
🤣😆 brilliant!🤣 seeing Doops sat in the sink with that unimpressed look on his face😆 very funny lol😉 Cainbridge is really lovely too so if your ever cruising that way check it out.🙂 Have a great weekend and take care xx
Haha yes all the boys were grumpy to be cooled down 😂😂 Oo yes we’d love to visit Cambridge! 😊 thank you, and take care too! Xx
Great vlog, loving your journey. Oxford looks a great place to visit.
Wes and Amy no chips insight 🤣
Enjoy your journey on the Thames. 💚
We really loved Oxford for sure! 😊 haha is it a boat time miracle? 😂
You are wonderful at finding a positive when things don’t go “as planned”…. And next rain and hail.”
We’re looking forward to coming south and exploring next year
Its great! I think you'll both love it :D loads to see!
I just come off a 7-day holiday on the Thames. Had a pretty good time. Did not like jumping on and off the locks. A great place to kill yourself or drown yourself, but I'm very grateful for the lock keepers who helped us out.
Yeah those huge locks are so much harder when there isn’t a lockie! But glad you had a good time ☺️🛥️
Bye blubber 🥺😻 see ya next Friday
Great vlog! Wish I went swimming too. But alas I have tons of reports due. College, right now, sucks 😞 I've had my break, now back to work
I will miss your fancy comments🤣
Goodluck with college! You got this 💪🏻
@@blubber8961 you thought my comments were "fancy"? thanks 🤭damn, meant them to be sexy. Guess I didn't get me point across 😅 o well. Hopefully, every once in a while, you remember my fancy comments 💗 Kay😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Hope the reports are going okay! I’m sure blubber will return one day 😋☺️
Great video... not to put ANTHING ELSE on your plate but you should keep track in thee book what is and isn't available and then re do the book in your own name... THE NEW... UPDATED..REAL moring book and tips.... entertainment and filling/dumping stations.... including pet friendly....you go guys! even if you never did it... writing it in your map will help you and others you talk to.. great job guys!!! xoxoxo love from Canada!💖
So gd to see how happy you both are no you seemed stressed about the Thames but you did well lovely to see the pets getting cooled tc now Ann n David 👍😉👋
Thank you both!! It was certainly stressful but so worth the hassle! 😊 all part of the adventure! X
Aw, I’m sure the next day went better and you found a lovely place to do your water etc. and a beautiful place to moor .🙋🏼♀️🥰
Yeah it was stressful but that field we found was so picturesque! There’s always an up to a down 🥰
ලස්සන අද්දැකීමක් ලැබුණා. වීඩියෝඑක ගොඩාක් ලස්සනයි ඔයාල දෙන්නට ස්තුතියි
You guys are amazing. You re so natural and so much fun to watch. Please keep the vlogs coming. Thank you
Thank you so much 🥰
Best way to cool your pets down is through their paws, as by putting water on their fur attracts the rays and makes them hotter. Handheld fans work well, or I use a USB crate fan and frozen t-towel wrapped in cotton for my feline to lie on.
Ooh didn’t know that! Thank you so much, will try it this year
Great vlog. Really lovely. I hope engine proves to be nothing bad. Best wishes x
Thank you!! I think part of it was just feeling a bit exhausted and stressed from the facilities troubles! X
Oooh Victor's?!? You fancy
We didn’t realise at the time 😂 just wanted to see the view! We needed our amazing lovely tour guide 🥰
After the Oxford canal the Thames was magnificent!
It’s really lovely in parts isn’t it 🌳
Good video
Glad you enjoyed😊
Loved catching up with you guys! Those buns were our snack of choice when we lived in Singapore. So yummy. And you’re so right about how annoying and frustrating it is when facilities marked on the map don’t exist! 😊
You guys are so cool and travelled 🤩 love it!!
Great Vlog. Must be so frustrating with the inaccurate information in the guide books. Hope there is nothing wrong with your engine. Glad you had a good time with your. Friends on board.
🙏😊🤗 Kathy
Thank you!! Yeah the app we use seems a little flaky… we loved having our friends over even if it was a little cramped 🥰
Great video (new sub here) thank you so much for sharing your journey, we plan to move from our little farm to a narrow boat in a few years time. Being able to watch you finding your feet (sealegs?!? 🤷♀️) is super helpful and I appreciate you showing us the real stuff and the things that scared you and helped you to learn. Amy I LOVE that dress (the one at the beginning) 😁 Best wishes, Roo x
Thank you for watching and subscribing!! 🥰 haha sea-legs, that’s a great term! That means a huge amount to us, thank you so much, and good luck with the boat hunt!! Xx
Fab vlog guys! X We are now in a marina for winter. Last minute decision as they had one for a 70ft boat! This life never gets boring does it!! Go with the flow as they say! Xx
Thank you!! 🥰 Oh nice! Yep, you never know what’s round the corner! Xx
Great video.lovely journey with so much to enjoy.felt the cold water when you all jumped in.stressful for you all at times but you got through it with hardly any scratches.🌹😄💐🌻
You can’t rely on technology to be correct.get that Nickelson no7 asap.😂😂😂
Haha I know! We thought we were covered but guess not! 🗺️
You can’t rely on technology to work ie signal, etc. A reliable paper map is always my first choice.
Great job mooring guys on the doggy river bank guys👏🏼👏🏼 well done Amy braving the nettles, it’s not easy, I moor on the Nene 👏🏼👏🏼 wonderful vlog as always 😍😍always sad🥲🥲when it ends❤️❤️
battery powered string trimmer. 50-75 quid at b&q ;)
Now that’s not a bad idea! 😉
Just managed to catch up on all your vids. We do watch I promise - just don’t get to comment as watch on the tv xx 😊
Thank you!! That’s okay, we are the same and mainly watch on tv xx
You celebrated the Thames by going swimming … I honestly thought you was going to say “chips” 😂
😂😂 can’t blame you for that, I think it’s the first time chips weren’t our celebration! 😂
We made the same mistake heading to letchworth . Never needed the anchor on the Thames . All though we did have it ready .
What a relief when the flow was so mild hey! X
Steam bums are the best.Another great video guys.
Sooo good 😍 thank you!!
Nice vlog ,great adventure ,that's what life all about .
Thank you! All about the ups and downs 🥰
Thank you for taking us to Oxford!
Thanks for watching and coming along with us ☺️
Greetings from Michigan USA
Hello from the UK! 👋🏻👋🏻
That was a very enjoyable time you had . Stay well and safe ❤️
Thank you! ☺️
Hi guys, been watching for sometime and love what you do plus love + live with each other and life. I have lived around the mid Thames all my life - Windsor to Teddington / tide lock, all my life. Head tips / help or info like chip shops or laundries / shops, if you / when you get around here please ask if you need to. Keep doing what your doing and stay happy all 4 of you. Sean
Thank you so much Sean! It’s a lovely place to live 😊 we didn’t go as far as Windsor, hopefully next year!
Wow Amy and Wes, look at you two on a big scary river 😄 Well done. Oxford looks like a beautiful city. I’m sure you’ll go back. Looks like swimming in the Thames in the summer was a lovely thing to do. Take care. Nick
Was worth the trip! 😃 thank you Nick!
I got behind with watching & just binge watched your last 3 vlogs (saving tonight s for tomorrow) - awesome as always! So good to see Rufus happy & having fun, love Wes's English summer tan 🤣
After being stuck in factory all week your vlogs are sooo interesting, funny & relaxing to watch! Thankyou 🙏 x
Thank you Rachael 🥰
Awesome trail blazing skills installing the gangplank with Amie ‘s trusty shears .l did the Thames down to Windsor , mooring can be a bit of a problem ,but it is a lovely river .l nearly choaked on that Diet Coke and l’ve got that Nicholson’s guide and that’s all l’m saying 👍
Haha thank you! We reckon our improvisation was pretty good! We’d love to do more of the Thames perhaps next year!
Another good video great content well informed watching from my hospital bed in the uk one of my favourite couple to watch
Thank you so much 😊 hope you are doing better and recovering well
We are nervous about the Thames (not that we are anywhere close to going on there yet) so it's really lovely to see your ups and downs, thank you for sharing ☺️
Thank you for watching! It’s definitely worth a trip, and once you get into the swing of it it’s easy and definitely has its perks over the canals 😊
Hi From Lechlade to Henley the Thames is known The Isis , From Henley to London it is The Thames and The London River .Cheers
Ah that makes sense, thanks for clarifying! 😊
It might have been centuries ago, but nowadays the Isis only applies to the section through Oxford.
from the source to Dorchester, not Henley
I wonder if you’ve converted some new boaters 🎉
Glad no snakes to be concerned about.
There are snakes sometimes! But they are non venomous grass snakes luckily 😊
Great place to plant some potatoes and strawberry. I'm so happy you are battling the rivers, you now have stripes. You is proper boaters now luvvies. Sometimes I just throw my anchor in the reeds . Do you manage to get fuel ok in the remote areas? I'm petrol and can be a nightmare on some systems. Rowers get on my nerves but rivers are definitely more beautiful and cleaner. Great video troops.. ;)
Haha thank you! Check us out 😂
We managed okay thank you! Even though some places were very pricey for diesel!
Thanks for watching 😊
Welcome to the Thames!! Also if you do ever fancy the tidal section through London I'll come with you to help! 😁
Aw that would be amazing!! Don’t think we are ready yet haha but when we do it would be an honour!
Wow!! That was amazing. swimming in the Thames looked like great fun....love the t-shirt tan Wes but I hope you had plenty of sunscreen on cos you looked a bit burnt....ouch!
£12 for 2 diet cokes is a barmy price, can tell you where in a tourist city thinking they can charge what they like. Deffo gonna get you some chips this week after paying that price.
Look forward to more river cruises. xx
He didn’t have sun cream on 🤫 thank you so much again! X
Safe travels to you both hope whatever noise you hear in your engine is a minor issue
Thank you!! Have a great weekend x
Love your adventures, thanks for sharing. Is Ben’s cookie stall all vegan or has vegan options? Xx
Thank you ☺️ They aren’t all vegan, they have the 1 vegan chocolate chip, but it’s sooooo good 😍🍪
So, I jumped into your videos at number 59, and I love them and find them very engrossing, but I have a real problem with not starting storeys at the beginning, so I am now trying to catch up. Binge watching as much as I can. I must say though, I think you have been very brave because you have set off with such little knowledge and experience! Also, I can't believe how many times I've seen you setting off on long walks for food (mainly chips :) ) I have always managed to make sure I have enough food on board to last for MANY days...just in case! I don't think you should rely on just one or even two places of information as far as services are concerned. They change very frequently. I'm sure you're getting used to this now and I don't want to preach to the converted, but don't rely on one or two sources for information. Really, with best wishes for future travels, and hopefully, I will catch up soon :) Oh, I should also say, Amy is gorgeous, and Wes is OK for a guy ;) Seriously, you're both great, so I can't wait to catch up properly :)
Aw thank you so much for watching them all Ronnie! So glad you enjoyed 😊 thank you for the tips! Yes lesson learned for double checking the info haha!
Very kind thank you ☺️
Get yourself a bolster and some nice mooring pins to bang into river bank. 12 quid for coke, wtf, fuel is cheaper lol
😂 tell us about it
How much are the fees. Plan to travel down in August. Much appreciation from Australia.
Do you guys use some type of app to guide you through the canal and track you progress?
we use the OpenCanalPlan app and Nicholson’s guides 😊
how about a small weed wacker on the boat for nettles?
We have thought about using a proper one, but for now any stick or pole we can find seems to be doing the job haha!
How many months behind are these vlogs.
About one 😊 usually they are between 3-6 weeks behind depending on how much we can fit into each episode!
Just curious. Why can't you use Google Earth? I typed in Dukes Cut and knew exactly what route you should take. Example: I knew you had to turn left to get on River Thames. I knew right after one of the locks if you turned left, you would run in to a weir. etc, etc. Seems like Google Earth would be another tool for you to use when cruising. South Carolina
We've never thought to try it to be honest as we have the canal/river version of 'sat nav' but might be worth a try if we get lost in future! thank you 😊
