- In this episode we give you a day in the life on our narrowboat home... but at night! Most vlog filming takes place during the day, but people are often curious what happens after the sun sets. So join us in a fairly typical, but eventful, evening, as we trek through fields for food, slip along the gunnels to change the gas, and whip up one of our favourite meals! 👨🏻🍳🔦

OMG, a late night shopping pickup, then a night time gas bottle change along the gunnels, and THEN you still have the will to start cooking? It would have been so easy to go for the quick sandwich or toast-based snack option, but you saw the mission through to its glorious mash-based end.
Hats off to you sir. Some sort of humanitarian services award should really be given to you for this kind of bravery and stamina, but as usual you will have to make do with the thanks of Amy, the panting of Rufus, and whatever it is that doobs does (I dont want to seem rabbit-ist, but he doesnt seem to contribute that much to the boat. Frankly I think you need to have a frank discussion with him about his objectives).

Well did you find the ash pan ???….I always leave mine in the stove through the summer….bet you didn’t wash the pots and pans till next day….and just fell into bed. I would have sod the washing up 🤣🤣

Mind you, it was worth waiting for, looked delicious and I'm sure we've added things to mash before.
If you add some chopped up spring onions it makes it into 'champ' gives it an extra flavour and texture.

mayo in mash?..that does sound a bit odd however i do understand it makes the mash more creamy with a little zing for the tastebuds...glad you got your shopping collected with out any injuries..walking on wet fields in the dark can be very dangerous...sending love from Alabama USA

We do that too, but mayo is a subtle but pretty good addition! why not all 3 😝

Hi Amy, Wes, Good to see Rufus running around, You guys are amazing walking in the dark to get your Tesco order. Walking back with all that heavy shopping on the muddy towpath can't have been much fun. Well done getting the food aboard, some balancing needed there. When your gas ran out and Wes had to walk down the side of the board I was worried for Wes. Have you ever thought about a safety hand raIL to hold onto with a full hand grip, whilst walking on the Gunnels. Do you not have a forward hatch, so that you can walk thru the boat? OMG...What are you two like!!!! You need to get the shopping thing organised!!! It's not THAT difficult! While I enjoy watching you struggle at 9pm going for a shop...it was fun watching, but I wouldn't have wanted to do it myself! Oh, and OF COURSE adding mayonnaise to nearly anything makes it taste better!!! As does butter :) Keep going, you're both great :) If I didn't care so much I wouldn't rant!!!
