How lucky the world was to have someone like him and during a time where we can watch his speeches today having been recorded. People like him, and the many people who have, even as of late, started to take a keen interest in him has given me hope that we may, as a species, find our way yet. What a great leader to always inspire his people and find real solutions to real problems.

I do that. I scour the internet fr articles of his speeches and on youtube. Very inspiring. Reminds me of a time we had to work hard to achieve success and we did. He not only talks to the great leaders of the world, but in countries he goes to,, he speaks to the everyday man in the street about their lives, work, salaries, families etc. thats how he learnt lifes lessons not only frm books. Which spore leader does that now? Or even bothers to? Some cant even keep awake in Parliament.

This is how a leader speaks ! Firm and with a clear vision. I am still 100% supportive towards PAP but we need someone who are firm and honest and its about time to discipline the cabinet. Like what LKY once said, this is not a card of game , it is your life and my life . We must succeed as failure is not an option as some other country are waiting for us to fail big !

    • @jessiejames7492
      @jessiejames7492 Рік тому +4

Firm! Yes! Present leaders too soft. Even LHL said they cant govern with an iron hand like the The Old Guard. Why not? No wonder we are failing in so many areas. Our dirty litter strewn country is just one aspect that saddens my heart. Mr LkY was very strict about cleanliness! Thats why Changi Airport toilet’s were the cleanest in its day. All because of him. ! Theres a story that goes with that. It just reflects on the man. He cared about everything. Not just being political.

His viewpoints and quality of thought is astounding. SG build up a political system of not just thinking of "tomorrow" but also of the next and next next generation.
LKY's sharp thinking - "Is the translator a language expert or is he also an Engineer?" (It shows that he was interested in knowing the dynamics to some level of depth of how things work). Thank you for the video.

LKY is absolutely right. There are very huge problems that even he cannot even speak outright but can only hint at (1:15). Even today, these problems still exist and it is likely to get worse because they are all camouflaged in another form yet simmering at the foundations of the country. We cannot even talk about it because it will rock the boat, and communities will savagely rise up against others to defend their religion like what happened in the riots of 1964. It is amazing that LKY managed to steer the country amidst such turbulent times (getting attacks from Indonesia and Malaysia while managing internal outbreaks), suppressing these odious forces and still get his people to the top of the class within the region. The man is a legend. The people must remember that even though they cannot speak of it, they must be constantly aware and be on guard against it and prevent it from further strengthening/expanding itself within the country. It is a very delicate balance that if left unchecked will destroy the country LKY has painstakingly built.

Show my respect for Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.
Algorithms recommend what we like to watch, and if we're not actively looking for different points of views, most likely we'll be exposed to views we agree with most of the time.
I’ve been trying to watch various channels to try to make comprehensive understanding of the world.
I’ve made many videos teaching Chinese language vividly and in a humorous way. I hope somebody can recommend my videos to those who want to learn Chinese. For beginners, Chinese characters may look complicated. But once you learn about 100 basic radicals, most characters become easy.
I hope more people can learn Chinese to get comprehensive firsthand information about China and most likely seek more job opportunities.
Know ourselves as well as our partners, competitors, adversaries…..

Even though Mr. Lee has been dead for eight years (since 2015), I still learn important lessons from watching his videos. Absolutely amazing.
What I found most interesting were Mr. Lee’s comments on Nixon, China, Taiwan and Vietnam. This speech occurred after Nixon announced his visit to China but before he actually went. It is clear that Nixon had discussed his plans for Asia and Indochina with Mr. Lee and that Nixon pretty much executed his plan as he intended.
This speech was rambling, but I still learned a lot from the rambling.

1:40 Singapore was not accident-its people and leadership made it so.
2:10 Every potted plant means effort, organization, fertilizers. (The “Garden City”)
2:57 The more SG progresses, the wider the gap between the rest of the world.
3:14 A government representing a nation in the making-a nation which is slowly formed and tempered.
13:55 Vietnam drug addicted soldiers, 40-60%. “Opium War in reverse.” Super-fine heroin.
25:13 Upgrading skilled workers. From an industrial technological base, we become the sparking plug for development. “We go on from physical servicing to brain servicing. Meaning we upgrade our level of servicing.” As economic experts indicate.
26:35 But there still has to be the road sweeper. Foreign work permit holders at worksites. We have to mechanize because, “our young men, having been to school, they don’t want to do it.” 60-70% are non-SG workers-They work harder, they take greater risks, they earn 2x-3x what they can earn in their own countries.
27:15 But, we carry a social load. They dirty the place, they were not brought up in our school system. And if you take too many, then instead of our values being superimposed on them, they will bring us down to their values-because it’s easier to be untidy, scruffy, anti-social, anti-government than it is to be disciplined, well behaved, and a good citizen.
29:50 Buggering country from shocks, building a building on a floating foundation to protect against earthquakes
31:30 Engineering, different languages, and bridge collapses

I am worry for my children as I don’t wish one day our children have no future and end up working in other country as there are no work opportunity in Singapore. To be or not to be. All parents worry for their own child that they save up for their children. That's why the Gen Z are less hard-working but more innovative in their own way. Per family only have average of 1 child now. So I Dont see why that child should work so hard like his/her parents. Unfortunately, Singapore will go down one day but not so fast as we have a good location in the world.

Singapore’s LKY, My Favourite Dictator ! Bad Habits include Land Grab, Destroying Not Only Political Adversaries But also Influential Ppl,Families and sometimes even entire Communities . Has penchant to Play Robbin-Hood , sometimes even God & Quick to Covertly Change Laws to Suit . An attention seeker & pbly has undiagnosed OCD . Tragically, No one Bothered/ Dare intervene to rescue his reckless Kids in Lee Family Saga fiasco . Strangely almost ALL LKY’s Trusted Generals hv either Distanced or Declined High Office Appointments after his Passing. Interestingly, Timing of Both LKY & his Blue Eyed Boy & henchman , Ex Comm Of Police, Goh Yong Hong passed within Weeks in 2015 , Coincidentally After serious Allegations that Will Criminally Implicate Both Filed in the Singapore High Court. LKY is brilliant but the recording shows what he says is not always clear - there are snatches of incoherence here and there in his speech. Perhaps because of his oratory skills, Singaporeans at large tend to associate good English with intelligence or practical capabilities. Which, unfortunately, is a widespread and erroneous assumption in Singapore. I'd prefer anytime a minister who gives mediocre or boring speeches but does the actual work than a minister who speaks with sweet charming manners and stunning English but is just so-so when it comes to covering the ground work.
