Good to see the og tinywhoop channel doing videos again. We need more! Thanks for this mod!
Heck yeah lots more stuff on the way my friend!
@@TinyWhoop Cant wait!!
Drop this into the mobeetle 6 carbon frame! I bet it would rip and make a great video!!
yooooo haven't seen this channel active in years, good to have you back guys ❤
Thanks ps! We wanna do hecka content this season, and we want requests!
@@TinyWhoop Please make more build videos! thank you Jesse!
@@tadashi4k659 you got it!
@@TinyWhoop hey Jesse, your old style flights and fun vlog style content is what tw is about. Would love to see that as well if you guys are up for it. Good to have you back ♥️
@@TinyWhoop tinywhoop long range build, tiny night vision, tinywhoop battles (knocking eachother down?)
Oh dang that trippy spin inside the gazebo was so cool. Rad to see it not going around a pole but staying inside of a bunch of poles. Well done 👍👍
I know he so good!!! Like gdmfr
Awesome build! I LOVE the antenna trick! I like to put an unused male plug in the lipo connector when soldering on it to keep everything in place better it doesn't seem to put as much heat to the plastic.
I dig this videos vibe.
Nobodie ask u if u like it or not ….
@@GUILLERMO.NESPOlO hahah, hey my friend.
@@BOTGRINDER want me to ban him? 🤣🤣
@@GUILLERMO.NESPOlO actually I asked him telepathically
@@GUILLERMO.NESPOlO I did. Now apologize
Removing 2.282g is a 13.2501089% drop!!! Mighty diet!!! Thanks for the tips!!!
Great job. During the sub18g contest I got my whoop down to 15g. 14.9 without modding the frame is pretty sick 🤙
Loved the video!!! Nightwing is the best!! Funny thing is I just got mine today. I'll try these mods at some point. This was super helpful and well put together info.
Yeah man NW is so good. Thank you!!
Unreal! I love how you guys are always pushing the limit. What a beautiful aircraft! Thanks, Jesse and Nightwing!
The metal piece on the antenna is the balun. To go a little further I print with foaming TPU and make a one piece grommet & camera mount. I use a drop of e6000 to hold the grommets on. I would really love to see BetaFPV continue down the road of no metal USB housing on HD specific boards.
HELL YEAH ! Keep these videos coming. Love yall
I am a durability dude, a breaker/basher, and most of the unsoldering and removing heat shrink gives me anxiety. I learned some soldering tricks though so thank you! Nightwing has packed my order a bunch of times so it's cool to see him in a video.
Wow! This tutorial was really well put together. Absolutely an S-Tier Tiny Whoop video for sure.
My mind has been blown. I ordered a ton of stuff from your website after watching this. Literally taught me so much in just one video!!
If you want to go over kill with the camera, desolder the wires from the pinch camera and use the wires from the original camera. Now, instead of using the plug, cut it as short as possible and direct solder it to the flight controller. Then you can actually pry off the camera plug from the board. this is a little tricky to do and the weight is minimal so only do this if you really care about removing as much weight as possible.
FYI- typicalliy beta ships their pigtail plugs with the white wire as ground, not blue. In the video he swapped it and made the blue wire ground, on both the plug and the board. Just something to be mindfull about for folks who opt to mount the pigtail without swapping the plug end. That being said you did say in the vid to make sure round to ground on the FC.
Great work. All of the mods I would have suggested... And a result that even surprised me. Sub 15 without enamel wires or frame mods is amazing
LOVE the great content, and LOVE Peter's hat! ❤❤❤
It’s so weird that as I find myself coming back to flying drones all the channels I used to watch are also coming back. It’s a good feeling.
the weight loss would be all for nothing if you swapped the arrow forward! haha. Nice video!
Excellent! Thanks for this video. Two wires disconnected from the plug to the camera. I've been trying to re-solder them but no luck. You showed how to remove the wire sheath using the iron itself. I'll give that a shot. Thanks again.
A really well presented tutorial Nightwing, nice work
Thank you!
Best walk-through of its type. Informative and to the point. Dat camera angle tho'! 😅Too much for this old man 👴🏻
is that the nightwing that packaged my order! How cool!!
Yeah just got mine yesterday and has his "autograph" on the packing slip, thanks for the candy too! LOL
This aint your grandads tiny whoop for sure this is some next level stuff right here
Tinywhoop inspire all of this thank You tru master of the craft
Currently eating the sour patch kids that came with my order from you guys, eagerly waiting for my Air65 to show up so I can do some of these mods too lol THANK YOU for making this video!!
Enjoy the spk's homes and thanks so much for the support!!
Nice tutorial for the community!❤
Whats the purpose of the metal part on the whip antenna?
The arrow is just an ocd thing, but yea I’m with you Jesse😂
I got the Packed by Nightwing sticker, now I want a Modded by Nightwing too!
awesome video. now lets see a modded Air75
That bt2.0 trick was awesome!
I haven't flown a tiny whoop in over 2 years. was kinda looking to get back into flying, but I don't think I could catch up with all the new tech !
You could, and no matter how hard not would be it's so worth it!! They're way more fun nowadays!!
still have my original tiny whoop haven't flown it in years
Brushed? Inductrix fc??
Hello BLIZZARD FPV here .
Long time listener, first time subscriber
Awesome!
Nightwing Great vid I need to do this sometime 👍
Love the video! I did pretty much the same to my Mob6 24, but i could only get it down to 16,9g. I might have to get one of those as well :D
Useful tips!
thing to consider (coming from 5" and other crafts) it is worth modding whoops because they last a very long time in comparison to 5". Maybe not these motors, they do not last all that long, but rest is perfectly fine :)
Fun video, thanks!
link to that solder station please!
Banger !
Savage. Just ordered two of these guys from ye :)
thank you so muchfor the support!!!
great work and video
Thank you very much!
LFG good stuff
Hell yeah!
Nice trick and wonder battery run time will last 7 min?
Amazing! Do the same with Air75. Doesn't something go short circuit when put receiver without insulation directly on FC? I like the end part: "we don't need upgraded U-plug from manufacturer, we just do our own much better" :P
Awesome video - Thanks
directly soldering the camera to the board and removing the jst is even lighter. I found my camera coming loose with the jst anyway
Not comfortable with soldering yet, so I just swapped out the motor and canopy screws for peek screws. That got my freestyle version down to 16.5g. I think I’ll try the antenna mod next.
Update: Did the antenna mod and am down to 16.2g.
Not bad man!! Bravo. But soldering is a much easier step than you think
Soldering is a LOT easier than you would think. I had to same concerns. But it’s easy
I’d love to do my own soldering, but unfortunately my hands are too shaky to solder small parts these days.
@@krish3033how is the video penetration after removing ground from antenna?
Request: how to solder TINY wires to motors and flight controller, etc. Thanks!
I need that clamp setup..😮
Great video, can you please provide the name of the helping hand that you were using for soldering or the website you bought it at. Thanks!
Yaaaasss!! I love mine!!
what's up man! got my issue of flytribe and i LOVE this thing!!! bravo
Great video
A suggestion for the next video: build your personal favourite tiny whoop build
As a newbie is the arrow being at the front vs back a legit thing? Or just a meme?
From my understanding it was important to have the battery tray offset towards the back, but it seems like the air65 frame has it centered so that doesn't make a difference
Don't tell anyone I said this but it's a meme ;)
I cant wait to get one of these... gotta save up but dang they look fun! Do you think a crsf nano would work well with one of these?
crsf nano would work great with one of these!
unbelievable
INCREDIBLE!!!!
Also yea anybody can do this but gonna preface that you need to know how to solder. LOL
But anyone can solder :)
@@TinyWhoop I jumped into micro RC about 10 years ago and definitely blew up/ melted stuff. Absolutely anyone can solder eventually given the patience and practice. Hope ppl who struggle see encouraging messages to keep practicing and going. I guess where I’m going with this is it may come by to a novice as “soldering being hard doesn’t exist” instead of “it may be hard and will take practice but keep your head up” cuz for a time I was quite overwhelmed and could only handle so much magic smoke. 😂
Thanks for these great tips!!! Can you please share where can I get a soldering magnetic helping hands like the one used in the video? thanks :)
Great vid! Love to be able to see the actual numbers!
Still fairly new to whoops, so this may seem like a silly question, but with my bigger quads, using a slightly heavier motor with gobs more thrust always seems to liven them up to me, so would the same principal hold with tiny whoops? Say you had this build, and added 2-3 grams of weight, but doubled the power-to-weight ratio, would it have a similar effect? Or is the extra weight not worth it even when it's overcome by thrust?
Tail in the back ftw. Never forget that 4% y'all
Ever used solid wire for the motors? Higher current less skin effect since it's such a small amount of wire?
I have but they tend to break too often for my liking. I'll use magnet wire on the external boards that I glue down because they don't move as much so the wires don't break.
At 100kHz, the skin depth of copper is over 2mm. The diameter of 26AWG wire is 0.4mm. Skin effect is not an issue at these relatively low frequencies.
Excellent.
Thanks king! Cred to Mr. Wing of course
very cool
I literally just received this one from you guys yesterday and is my first tinywhoop. Was not prepared for how fast and responsive they are. I mildly bumped into a chair in my yard and already cracked the frame. I didnt realize how fragile those frames are. Kind of disappointed about that. I ordered a couple of meteor 65 ultralight frames from your site last night. I assume that's a direct replacement for it?
I wanna see a 1s WS VTX on one of these. Where do you get the prop pop off tool?
that would be epic! popper is linked in the description
do you notice a difference in how it flies at all?
I am very interested in finding out where you get your helping hand.
It’s called omnifixo
Where I can get that prop remover or the stl to do it ????!!!! ❤
It's for sale in the description links! Sorry I don't have the STL, I buy it from the creator who lives in China
Amazing, what's the flight time and what size lipo?
What's the smallest whoop that can carry an O3 naked unit?
Can we get a camera mount like that but for the c03
Alright, where can I get the soldering stand you're using Peter? Magnetic?
very nice!
What kind of glue did you use for the ELRS receiver?
B7000
is there a risk of the ELRS rx shorting out with the fc as the heatshrink has been removed
I haven't heard of it yet
Nice🥳
🤘🔥🏁
Link to the canopy please?
where can i purchase that work bench u got that can hold on to stuff while u solder etc? looks super useful for a person like me with shaky hands
just look up omnifixo!
Got a link for that canopy? Seems like the cut throat lightest canopy ❤
It's in the description! Thanks my friend
Where I can buy the prop puller for tiny whoops?
Using peek screws, has anyone had issues with them shearing inside the motor?
Do you ever use flux? 😮
At some point I guess we could go smaller than 65mm since everything gets lighter
Where can I get that solder stand at?
Do I wait for the Air 5in1 or go with this 4in1 set-up?
Shyeah that's the question
The 5 in one looks to be heavier than the 4 in 1 with external receiver. And then you have an extra potential failure point.
@@Tokyo_Dom what elrs receiver do you suggest? The flat Beta one looks the most tempting...
What is the name of prop removal tool? If possible please provide a link to it. Thx
The the clone popper, available on tinywhoop.com :)
Hi, air 75 can flip from crash ? Thank you
yes, turtle mode/flip mode
@ can u make turtorial for this. Many thank
nice mods!
...but can I buy you some flux? >_
Thats cool👻
sub 14g's once the 5in1 comes out?
It would be heavier. The 5 in one weighs 0.7g more than the 4 in 1 (an external rx is about 0.4g)
We already did sub-14, some of us went as far as sub-12. We have the parts available, it's just a pita with cutting frames and stuff
@@Tokyo_Dom i know ur UL build ^^ but oh shit, i thought the 5in1 would be even lighter. Didnt go throug with calculating it yet though.
The ELRS lite with flat antenna seems to be listed at 0.53g plus heatshrink and cables (for a normal build) so would probably come out kinda close unless beeing as sparing with wiringing of the rx as in the video.
i really wanted to try out the new air board to get my 75mm sub20g's, but now idk what to do😂
idk i somehow really dislike the idea of seperats rx on a tw, but easy 0.2-0.3g saving would also be nice 😅
edit: 0.53g for flat antenna like used in air65 and 0.47g for tower antenna
thought flat antenna would be the lighter one lol
@@KidCe. Yep and the HM ep2 is only 0.40g by my scale. Wires only need to be 1cm long and enamel wire can be used (not much vibration there).
Separate parts are preferable, if it's lighter. Being replaceable should be seen as a bonus!
8:02 the arrow points forward otherwise how do you know where your are going 🙄😤
Lol
whats that holder called?
Omnifixo
wouldn't this void any kind of warranty on the drone?
Haahaa! What warranty?!! LOL It's made in China, what's a warranty? =(:^)-
can you direct solder the camera to the fc?
Yeah! Can also use magnet wire on the motors and drop the frame weight considerably, these were the mods NW deemed reasonable :)
@@TinyWhoopWould really love to know why magnet wire was considered unreasonable. Does it have sone major cons or just extra work to switch to it? If so Id love to know because then Ill do my builds with magnet wire. Also 28 or 30 AWG of magnet wire for 0702s?
@@TinyWhoop Can we see that in the next video? That would be cool
