@nielsB_FPV I actually went to the guitar centre in LA to buy a Jazz Bass (I’ve always wanted one) but they had the stingray for such a good deal I went with that instead. I will get a jazz bass at some point though
Great video! When I got into whoops, I thought that I was a horrendous pilot because I couldn’t fly acro at all. It turns out I just had a first generation Tinyhawk. Once I upgraded to my BetaFPV Meteor75 Pro, I felt like I was flying a mini 5in. Ripping it!
If you have the DJI goggles V2 then you can get an analog module for them and that’ll let you fly tinywhoops easily. If you want something that flies a normal DJI air unit though the smallest you can get is something like the Pavo pico, Mobula8 or the flylens 75. The flight experience of these aren’t really the same as a tinywhoop though. They’re quite heavy in comparison and won’t take as much of a beating. Rumour is that the DJI O4 air unit that’s coming will also have a lightweight version so it will improve things a little but it won’t be tinywhoop small, more for 2-3.5inch quads as it’s 10g
In the video I’m using HD Zero goggles with a speedybee analog adapter and a Jumper T-15 radio. But any analog goggles and radio running ELRS will work
I loved the meteor75 pro… even the 65pro was the thing that changed my mind about whoops. My 75pro was lost to the tree gods a few months ago after a failed power loop attempt 😂
I'm undecided about if I should get the air65 or 75. Yes, this is mainly for inside but the flight time of the 75 is much more apealing. Have you tested to see the difference in real life about flight time?
The 75 also uses a slightly larger battery (450mah vs 250/300mah on the 65) which is part of how you get the extra flight time. The 75 does stay in the air much longer but for me the air65 just feels like it’s tuned better. I still like the 75 but only if I have to cover more distance
I have both and I agree 65 especially for indoors is sooo much more fun, more nimble, more precise. Get a whole bunch of 1s batteries and a 6x charger and just hot swap them.
When I start it on fpv back around 2017 , I start it just out of curiosity . And I start building my first 5 inch drone and my first drone I lost it on my first flight lol😅.after all this years on 2023 I start it with the tiny whoop and everything with the small drones are small . One of the things I like is that I can put my tiny whoops in my pockets also my pocket radio and the batteries. Love it thank you for the video.
I take my tinywhoops everywhere... even the charger and batteries being so small means I just take those with a power bank and charge them up via USB-c so I don't even have to spend hours charging packs not knowing whether I'll fly or not. They are so much fun too!
I really want to get a 65. But man the analog goggles are a sticking point. What to get? Does it matter? Can you get away with the BetaFPV goggles? Or do I need to spend some $$$? Does anything fit over glasses? Using the DJI goggles 2 now.
I’m not an expert on analog goggles but before I went HDZero I looked at a few different sets of goggles. The Skyzone O4 pros are best on the market and have diopter adjustment like the DJI goggles 2 along with higher resolution screens, better refresh rates etc but they’re crazy expensive. I would personally either get a secondhand pair of analog goggles to reduce the price or look at a box goggle (like BetaFPV or EMAX ones) as they normally fit over goggles and are cheaper. After you start flying analog you’ll either love having the additional option of these lightweight cheaper quads like whoops or 40mm-2inch quads that rip or you’ll go the other way and hate the image feed. If it’s the former you can upgrade your goggles later, if it’s the latter you haven’t spent loads on goggles you’ll rarely use
Cobra x are great if you have a small head. I purchased them thinking I could save money and not worry about my vision. I have a relatively large head, I wear a large size motorcycle helmet. There's not a chance in hell I can get glasses small enough to fit, let alone use my normal glasses. Thankfully I'm nearsighted so it's not a big deal but definitely don't buy the Cobra x with glasses in mind unless you have a small head
Yo gareth, great video! I just got the air65 as my first whoop coming from O3s, and i absolutely love it! However, considering that i am crashing all the time and not worrying about it, regarding 7:00 could you point me in the right direction on what to snip off or what to mod?
When I get back home I’ll take a photo of it (probably should have done that for the video) and maybe do a short on it. But think of it like clipping off the small section of the canopy that is resting against the ufl. You only need to clip the inside section so it still attaches to the AIO
I just posted a short about it as BetaFPV have modified it already straight from the factory but you can see the difference here BetaFPV Air65 Canopy fix ua-cam.com/users/shortsp_mzzGrFXM4
hi what about the all new Happymodel Mobula6 Freestyle HD BNF ? It includes the all new aio from hdzero and nex runcam hdzero lux. Could be a nice alternative ? will you test it ? Thank you for you video :)
I’ve seen some of the flights with them and I think both Skittles and Ryan Quellet were both flying them for awhile (without being able to talk about it) and it looks pretty good. I’ll wait for the freestyle version coming next month. That said I couldn’t get a new AIO for the air65 I broke (they’re out of stock everywhere) so I ordered HDZ AIO’s that arrived today so I’ll see how they feel when I transplant this in
I'm a huge tiny whoop fanatic and for your first whoop definitely buy a bnf. After you've got some flight under your belt you can go for a custom build. I currently have a 16~ gram whoop with 36,000kv motors, love that thing.
I have the meteor 65 pro and all of a sudden I take off and literally the quad is just wobbling as I’m giving it throttle when I’m turning it’s wobbly what the hell happened all of a sudden out of nowhere.
The same exact thing happened to my tinyhawk 2. After having it awhile out of nowhere it always wobbles now. If you find the problem and/pr solution share it.
+1 on the Air65.. started out in October, thought oh noes, not a tinywhoop toy during winter.. Right now I'm having a blast indoor, in particular on my attic. really really good and fast. And so durable. Jesus, I crashed that little dude into so many walls because I suck at flying..
Wow, I wrote that reply to you on my video before I saw this, coincidence much!!! Glad you love the Air65 as I hope I will, when it comes back in stock 😭 And speaking of analog cameras, I was actually impressed by my Cetus X camera, which is also the C03 like in the Air65, after watching so many FPV videos of people saying analog video quality sucks. So far I haven't had a branch jumpo out of knowwhere and knock me out of the sky! Edit: And once I do finally go digital and get HDZero I'll be looking forward to trying the Mobula6 with the 5 in 1, worlds first digital AIO!
Yeah I think the analog quality doesn’t matter as much as people think it would (in most situations) but the quality you’re getting out of the Cetus X is pretty amazing! My HDZ AIO’s just arrived today so I’ll be upgrading one of these and maybe doing a tiny freestyle build too
Lols Hey Gareth, Seeing your progress in the clips, well done. I guess you need to upgarde it with the HDZ AIO5 soooon ;) - less weight, will fly a lot better mate ;) Btw. I remember the Pruntruttermatte :D used to play football there some 26 years ago
I actually received two HDZ AIO’s in the post yesterday so as soon as I’m back in Basel I’ll be repairing the air65 with one of them and then maybe doing a tiny build with the other. I only discovered this place recently it’s really great to fly at!
That’s the thing I can’t believe how expensive a good pair of analog goggles still is. The older V2 DJI goggles could fit an analog module but anything newer won’t. There are smaller 2-3s options (I think 85mm) whoops that will run DJI but it’s not quite the same as a tinywhoop
DJI lite is coming let’s go DJI tiny whoops are a go and honestly I love my vision40 but got a new mobula 8(first analog quad) and it flys so good so I ordered an air 65 and 75 because analog is still pretty cool🔥🙏🙏🙏
A digital whoop isn't the be-all-end-all. If you just want to fly, analog is king. Analog is cheap and reliable, with the most options. I'm still using an Eachine EV800D with my analog Mobula8. I fly it indoors, every day. I can afford digital, but I remain unconvinced that I need it. It's not going to make my less-than-average skills any better.
A I agree and I fly analog too… but when I’m on trips away it would be nice to not have to bring two sets of goggles like I have this week. I like to fly both as they have different purposes
The normal analog mob6’s were great! Just that 2023 HDZ one is crazy heavy for the power. That said that makes it really controllable to fly slowly indoors
The problem is the durability of the aios I gotthe beta fpv 5in1 recently and it lasted 3 hours of gentle flying and being 15 I don't have enough money replace aio every day so I'm going to stick with my 5inch where the frame and electronics have lasted 1.5 years!
Wow that sucks! I’ve had issues with the happy model super X only lasting a couple of flights but aside from tearing off the ufl pad the 4 in 1 has been really good from betaFPV. What happened to the 5 in 1?
I have the air75 amazing flying whoop just the range is very bad. Like 100m max on open space. But apart from that it is amazing. And I have to say that I'm in europe and I have 100mw max
That really strange in the video I go over to the other side of the rugby pitch without any issues and I’m running it at 25mw at the moment. I haven’t had it in a larger area yet but I’ll give it a go. Do you have the version with the 4-in-1 or the 5-in-1?
Haha… I was going to show of the new clean version before to show what it looked like before I destroyed it but it didn’t arrive in time for the video 🤣
For a completely different take of Tinywhoops and more useful info check out TorontoFPV's latest video ua-cam.com/video/kvyehx_UiKg/v-deo.html
I started with a betafpv meteor85. 2s with a lot of time. Great for outside, haven't flown inside since I first got it bound.

What micro fpv drone would work with the DJI Goggles RE?
If you have the DJI goggles V2 then you can get an analog module for them and that’ll let you fly tinywhoops easily.

rumor has it the light o4 unit is gonna have a light version with the neo camera and presumably a smaller lightweight vtx
If I can get it in a tinywhoop that would be amazing… something tells me it’ll be around the same size/weight as a naked vista though
What goggles and remote do you use with the air65?
In the video I’m using HD Zero goggles with a speedybee analog adapter and a Jumper T-15 radio.
But any analog goggles and radio running ELRS will work
Skyzone cobra X and a radiomaster zorro elrs
I agree! Tiny whoops are awesome!
My daily driver is the Betafpv meteor pro 75. Simply the best bang for the buck for flying outside!
