Actually it is about looks. I would have loved if the actress was tall, slim and attractive (preferably white, since all anime characters have caucasian features). It matters. And it's not just about her, it applies to the rest of the cast as well.
I already watch it. Lol like I finish and then rewatch episodes. I do the same for Aeon Flux... cartoon and the Charlize Theron version. It is what it is. Can't be mad about it. I think the producers taking liberties, making changes adds to the legend of how an idea became to be. Difference is one was animated so an easier fix. She has a solid point that the faye costume is impractical for live action especially given that she’ll have to do action scenes in it. The problem with the video isn’t what she said but HOW she said it and just her overall attitude.

It could have been like what Zack Snyder and Henry Cavil saying the reason why they altered Superman’s costume to be like The New 52 (aka the sans red trunks version) was that it looked off with the version they were going with and not talking down fans of the comic.
Upon googling it, Faye Valentine is 5'6, has C cup size. What's she talking about? I've only ever seen people comment on the costumes. But she does have a point when it comes to the practicality of Faye's outfit, what works in animation doesn't necessarily translate well in live action. @Kyle Ghost in the shell had a lot of potential (and still a beautiful and accurate representation of the scenery), but the writing and some of the casting was the issue. The actors did what they could, but the aesthetics were spot on and brought the anime to life through it. Could've and should've been better though :/

Both are made from eggs and are delicious but neither are to everyone's taste. The original was excellent for its time but only excels as a past product and as an anime. Faye Valentine is 5'6 and definitely doesn't have double D's. At this point it's more so her characterization that people have a problem with. She was written terribly in the actual show. Her appearance is hardly the main issue anymore.
I believe part of it is the same issue people have with ghost in the shell. the character is Japanese, this actress isn't. the character is 23 this actress is like 40. like spike is to old also but at least he's not also white-washed. now the show came out and its just not good either so people won't be willing to over look it.

No one though Faye was 6 foot tall, which is an indicator of a big reason Daniella couldn't portray Faye, she knew nothing about her and blamed the fans.

I already watch it. Lol like I finish and then rewatch episodes. I do the same for Aeon Flux... cartoon and the Charlize Theron version. It is what it is. Can't be mad about it. I think the producers taking liberties, making changes adds to the legend of how an idea became to be. Like Star Wars or Star Trek so many renditions why get angry it can actually add to the value of collectors items.

It could have been like what Zack Snyder and Henry Cavil saying the reason why they altered Superman’s costume to be like The New 52 (aka the sans red trunks version) was that it looked off with the version they were going with and not talking down fans of the comic.

Those are the only bad examples you have and are not leaving enough room to what could possibly be something good. It's a storyless show with characters and origins open for interpretation ffs. @@CoolHandLuke7 The outfit works. They're not interested in working with it because it'd be too much like right. I refuse to believe otherwise. They didn't even bother to get her hair style correct. This character is unrecognizable as Faye aside from the hair color as far as I'm concerned. I get where you're coming from and could reasonably concede if the outfit was garish bric-a-brac but Faye's classic outfit doesn't inspire that feeling in me and this change deals a blow to her character. Suspension of disbelief goes out the window. Hardened criminals aren't going to be let their guards down and flirt with someone who looks like they work the register at Hot Topic. Sex sells. Faye is designed around that fact.
It isn't only about the fucking costume you losers. This is a LIVE ACTION. Cosplayers just walk around conventions. This actress has to do stunts, run, jump, do fight scenes. She cannot fight in something like that.

Who the hell wears an outfit like Faye's in the Olympics? You obviously don't exercise or play sports. Her outfit would be impractical as fuck to perform stunts in. It'll also look pretty cheap and silly in a real-world setting. Like underwear made out of a rain coat.

@@DG-gx4sg there's a reason why superheroes wear skintight suits. Because it offers the best range of motion. Same for pro wrestling or MMA. The material is what makes it comfortable. The costume choice here had nothing to do with 'sensibility'. They just wanted to cover her up as much as they thought they could get away with.

There is official artwork showing them lined up in front of a police lineup, Fay is roughly between 160cm and 170cm so 165cm if you include her 170 cm if you include her hair. 170cm is 66.93inches which is about 5 and a half feet tall. No one though Faye was 6 foot tall, which is an indicator of a big reason Daniella couldn't portray Faye, she knew nothing about her and blamed the fans.

I don't really care if it fails because as soon as I heard there was a live action in the making I had no expectations for it whatsoever. Just look at the history of animes turning into live actions. It won't change how good the anime was.
