Wish Minnesota would let me trap lol guess I’ll just drive up and ice fish
They will probably charge you double LOL
You should put your hands in one of the ts 85. Lol love the videos
Man I wish they'd let you come trap too!!
Why won’t they let you come here to trap ?
@@markmccarty9505 I'm guessing he's out of state. Non-residents can only trap on land they own within the state.
Great video buddy, love run'n coil springs for beaver! Congrats and God Bless!🤗👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I ran into the same issue out here in ND. Once we got that initial ice on the creeks and rivers I was trapping, the beaver activity to the dams dropped off to nothing. Caught the majority of my beaver in footholds on drowners this fall before the ice up... Bridger no.5s, Duke no. 4s and TS-85s.
Gonna steal the drowning rod and lock idea, thanks for sharing !
Love those TS 85’s. My favorite foothold for beavers. I prefer 10 ft. of #2 chain connected to an earth anchor over the drowning rods though. It’s much less bulk and weight to drag around in my experience. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks! I used to use chain but don't wanna risk them not drowning. Then they can twist off easily and be gone
I had 2 sprung dam break sets first night. Reset and kept checking. No beaver ever came back to repair the massive holes I ripped in the dam. I think they get smart. I'm going back next week to see if they ever fixed the damn. It's been about 3 weeks.
Nice front foot catch. Here in New York State Beaver foot traps can’t be any larger that 7 1/2 in. and we can’t alter the dams or lodges in any way. But I do well MB -750s and 330 Body-grips and some #4 long springs. Enjoy your trapping and outdoor videos vert much.
Thanks! We can't alter the dams either unless they are causing property damage
Great video Scott ! thanks for the shout-out buddy looking forward to setting some steel with you in the future!!
I like those ts-85's for back foot catches. And with some beefing up they make a damn good wolf trap
I love the TS-85s, but if you like big traps, you should try the Sleepy Creek #4 1/2 LS, 7 1/2" foothold trap. Talk about a big foothold, it would make a good man trap, it would probably hold a bear as well. But be sure to buy the setting tool for it, I don't know anyone who can set these traps by hand. Although I don't know anyone but you, who can set a Conibear Trap by hand either.
That's why I say it would be a great man trap, nobody can get out of it by themselves without the tool. I can stand on both springs with my 160 pounds and not even budge the springs.
If you get one, and can set it by hand, be sure to make a video on it to amaze your fellow trapper friends. I will be one of those who drops their jaw to the ground after seeing it. Although I was pretty impressed when I saw you set a Conibear by hand.
I looked at the ts 85. I went with the Duke pro 850's. The reason i like the cast jaws. And there well built traps. I run mostly bridger #5. I bought some of the CRD beaver traps. I haven't used them yet.
Those 850s look likr6a great trap
Thank you for sharing. I've never used drowning rods before. Sure looks simple and effective. I use drowning cables and sand bags. Think I'm going to try them in Spring.
Takes me three times as long to put my sets in.
I started 4 coiling my TS85's and haven't had a pullout in a very long time. Nice video, thanks for sharing.
I love the TS 85. I use them with Chip McCormick's expand-a-pan. I don't need a drowning rod. I long chain the trap and the weight of the trap drowns the beaver. Nice video.
I've had the same problem with dam breaks being ignored recently. So, I tried puttting a castor mound very close to the break. The combo has been working very well.
That can be an outstanding set. I’ve taken a lot of beaver using this set. Best of luck may all your traps be full. Best wishes to you and your family.
Awesome video! I was really surprised only one beaver was pulled out! Those traps look huge!!!
For a man that can compress 330 springs by hand as easily as you do, that 85 shouldn't be any trouble for you. 👍
Actually the TS 85s are kind of weak compared to other footholds I use. I think they need to make some beefer springs for them.
the ts85's are awesome ,running a dozen of them for beaver this season. can't wait till duke comes out with their 850 this spring . tell the guy you got them from not to put expand a pans on them ,we did on ours and it caused to many misses . switched back to the factory pans and don't have the miss problems .dan got one on his thumb trying to reset after a catch and did not get all the mud off the levers and got him . trust me,they lock up good left a dent in his thumb .getting a machine shop to build us some setters . bridger #5 springs can be put on them to 4 coil them and they become a beast of a trap for sure.
BRO!!!! The TS-85 is the BEST trap for beaver I loved using them. Get er done
"Trapping in a nature preserve so people can see nature in the nature preserve"... The ULTIMATE in irony... Can you imagine how they would freak out?? LMAO!
Great video brother. I've been using TS-85's for years, and love those traps.
TS 85s are an awesome beaver trap.
Down here in southeastern Minnesota got my number 11 beaver yesterday.
Man I love your beaver uploads! Your help land my first last year. Which is incredible since they are non existent where I am. Anyway. Enough talking I'm watching!
I really enjoy the vids...if possible can you do a trail cam on sets sometime? Thanks for the vids
He did in a few of his videos last season
I always paint new traps. Look how that traps shines out.
Beaver that aren't trap shy don't care though
I heard your channel mentioned several times in the last week on some other videos you have quite the rep in trapping. Been watching for over a year love the videos
Thanks Tim!!
Nice of him
Great video. One day I will go beaver trapping. Until then i will keep watching your videos
You should make a trap care/prep video on how YOU do it
This is the biggest I’ve ever seen your personality be, entertaining stuff!
Surprised there was only one. 👊💀🍻🇺🇲🍻
Aha! You brought your long gloves this time!
Love TS-85’s thought about using them for coyote too
I tried something last week, that almost worked perfectly. It might be great for this beaver dam too. I set up a 330 on a castor mound set, but about 12" in front of the 330, I set a foothold on a drowning rod. My thought process was that beaver #1 comes in, gets caught in the foothold, then drowns as planned. This leaves the 330 to now take out beaver #2 on the same castor mound. I set up a cell trail camera to see how it worked. I could hardly sleep as the photos started rolling in just before midnight. I got beaver #1 in the foothold, exactly as planned, but beaver #2 never showed up. Though it didn't work, it was set up to work perfectly. I'm wondering if you've ever tried anything like that and if you've ever had success.
No I haven't but I will try it sometime for sure!
Glad I found your videos. You are a wealth of knowledge. I’ve been trapping nuisance beavers for 20 years on our family farm in South Georgia using conibers. I want to start using leg holds and was wondering approximately how deep are you setting on those dam breaks?
Thanks! Usually just 3 or 4 inches to target the front foot
The TS85nreminds me of the Montgomery Step-in. I don’t they’ve been made far a while. Dogless coil spring. #4 was a great fox trap. Took a lot of pressure to fire the trap so the fox felt secure...
I actually had some of those. Got them from my dad.
They are big traps for sure
If you have went man down you would have been freezing man down LOL.
Great job. Thanks for sharing
Спасибо мужик! Есть чему поучиться.
Mannnnn I trapped for a few years. That’s one hell of an adventure.
First for once . Nice job 👍
Nice👍🤝
Those ts85's were only 2 coil. thats why they were easy to set
Yes. They need to get beefed up
Love ts 85!!
Great videos and very informative. How long are those drowning rods? Homemade or....?
They are home made. They are 10ft long
100 point buck?? Wow!
👍👍👍
Lol I'm surprised it doesn't grab both front feet
What kind of pan tension do you have on a foothold for beavers
I saw a telephone pole in the edge of a swamp and the beaver was chewing on it. even in the tar and creasote..
Здравствуйте а подскажите пожалуйста где вы живёте ,что это за страна, как называется ваша местность где вы находитесь?
I got land in between hawley and glyndon let me know if you would like to trap it
Is this trap steel or stainless ?
Steel
I though it were stainless because silver in color. I just wanted Buy stainless trap because I don’t like steel its Income rusty.
What means sh 85 ?
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that they are removing beaver so the people can go to the nature reserve. I'd still do the job, I just find it ironic is all.
That's the point of the video. I'm trapping beaver out of a nature preserve so people can enjoy the nature
@@330Maniac 1+1 = 7 equals a big head shake! Such smart people! Don't want to bash anyone or state the obvious but wow! Just wow!
Thanks for making the environment better dude! Seriously appreciate what you do!
This is the state that elected Ilhan Omar
@@J_D_B4379 Minneapolis elected her not the rest of the state. There's only a handful of people There I actually claim from Minnesota
@@330Maniac I bet she didn't get a single vote from outside of the twin cities.
Otter trapping
Why are you trapping in a NATURE PRESERVE? Let the animals live man. You don’t need to be trapping on conservational land.
Maybe watch the video and find out 🤷♂️🦫
Did you bother to watch even the first minute before making a judgment?
@@MB-vl6fl nope I don't think so. People just speak before even taking the time to educate themselves on the subject.
Hefta bet you got rid of crabs in high school. Same thing dude. 👊🏼👊🏼
