NOTE TO SELF !! DO NOT PAINT THE REFLECTORS. Rookie mistake I didn’t know but Enjoy this DIY and see how I tore apart the headlight and paint matched them. 👍🏽
Hey that 3rd bolt you took doesn’t need to come out. That little white piece in the back is a clip that goes up and down to lock the head light in. Just letting you know to help you save a lil time in the future
When I first did these headlights I didn’t know the reflectors made a difference in lighting. It was my first time doing it. But yes it affects the brightness. But eventually I added a led pod inside the headlight. Or you could add projectors. And it will be fine.
yeah those reflectors are there to spread the lighting out. painting them renders them useless. But since you added a pod light hopefully that makes you able to see.
All a learning process lol. But yeah the pods definitely helped. I ended up getting new headlights later on. But if I ever do the stocks again I work paint the reflectors
On the reflectors yes. I made the mistake of doing that. But you can paint it if you’re gonna add a pod lights or projectors. If you paint just the housing it won’t affect the light.
I would recommend adding a projector or led pod inside the headlight only if you paint the reflector shield like I did. Made the mistake of not adding one the first time I opened the headlights. But down the road I installed a led pod and it still looked good.
I honestly didn't know about the reflector. if i would of left that alone the headlights would of been perfect. but if you're gonna add led pods in the headlight you could still paint the reflector if you wanted. i would like to do another headlight video.
Nice, but with these headlights(they are reflective, not projector) you need the reflective part behind the bulb to make the light go forward out of the enclosure, so you have cut down the amount of light that will be put out on the road.
Did you just painted the reflective part ??? Lol. You need projectors now
Mistakes were made lol it was my first time. I now have 5th gen headlights installed which are projectors.
What’s wrong with this guys hand when he’s point,
Looking all frozen and shit
The headlights came out sick big homie
Change that blinker over too sequential they work very good and you don’t have the ugly orange showing

thanks for the info
How well are the lights going to work at night since you painted the chrome reflective backing. Have you tested them at night?
Came to the conclusion that I probably shouldn’t of painted the reflector haha. I later installed projectors in the housing.
What do these look like at night? Does it change how well you’re able to see?

Looks dope buuuuuttttt they’re probably dim as hell
Lmao I was like wait a min. But just imagine how it would look without me messing it up haha.

This guy doesn’t even know what he’s talking about to do what on what color to paint 😂😂😂
Wooooow this guys could of had the other one headlight going while he was pulling the first one apart
Shit I thought the yellow marker was also a housing ,
Thats a clean look 👌
Why didn't you cover the car next to your paint table bro... over spray!
rookie mistakes, but I have a detailer guy that's gonna hook me up

What grit sand paper are you using man. Looking good.
i believe i used 60,80 and a couple that were higher to smooth it out like 150.
does this inside paint affect the light output ?
On the reflectors yes. I made the mistake of doing that. But you can paint it if you’re gonna add a pod lights or projectors. If you paint just the housing it won’t affect the light.
When the time is ready 😂
I thought it was,
“We’ll be ready when it’s time”
What is the full set up of your Ram
i bet there is white paint on that orange car now.....
Forgot to cover it 🤣
should've turned the lights on at night
