      Yes, nice camera. They’re not as popular and the 500 series but try selling on eBay. Keep the price sensible and you’ll easily find a buyer.

    Very useful and interesting video!
    I purchased a used example from Calumet Camera (USA) in the mid-1990s but cost of lenses and backs forced me to reconsider and trade it back in for a Mamiya RZ67 which I still own.
    I did buy a Kiev 88 as an alternative and have been satisfied with that camera.
    The Hasselblad cover I bought to protect the shutter on my 2000FC fits perfectly on the Kiev 88.
    While I know obtaining repairs on Kiev products is most likely impossible due to the war in Ukraine,
    I cannot help but wonder if obtaining parts and repair for damaged Hasselblad focal plane shutter bodies is nearly as difficult.

      Unfortunately, spare parts for Hasselblad 2000 series cameras are becoming increasingly difficult to find. When purchasing one, it's important to be aware that it may be impossible to repair if something goes wrong.

      Camera buyers beware. The truth you MUST know about older digital and film equipment.

      @@WorldwideCameraExchange I read somewhere that technicians are increasingly refusing to work on focal plane shutter Hasselblads.
      Perhaps due to lack of parts- especially shutter curtains.

      @robertcuny934 yes, a lack of spares and reducing number of technicians with appropriate experience

    Some of the F lenses have a problem where the aperture doesn't stop down quickly enough before the shutter fires. This results in overexposed photos. You can check this by setting the lens to minimum aperture then removing the film back and viewing through the body and lens to verify only the minimum aperture is visible when the shutter fires at moderate or high speeds.

    Jonathan, I have a question about the on body sync port while using an F lens. The standard sync cables do not fit well in this body. How can I use a standard flash sync cable (as I do with my other mechanical cameras) to get a solid connection in this sync port? Is there some special sync cable or adapter required? TIA.

    • @WorldwideCameraExchange
      @WorldwideCameraExchange  5 місяців тому

      It should work with a standard cable

    • @john_murch
      @john_murch 5 місяців тому

      @@WorldwideCameraExchange Sorry, it should work with a standard cable but it doesn't fit properly like any other camera brand's body sync port. Not only my model. I'm sure it's something propriety related.

    • @WorldwideCameraExchange
      @WorldwideCameraExchange  5 місяців тому +1

      @john_murch I’ve never come across this so I doubt it’s a wide-spread issue. Maybe talk to a Hasselblad repairer? The socket may need to be replaced if it’s worn.

    • @john_murch
      @john_murch 5 місяців тому

      @@WorldwideCameraExchange Yes, that's possible. Further research indicates that this series body's sync port was a bit "shallow" and there was a push/twist method involved. They did have a proprietary sync #55111 PC cord that you push the centre part of the cable jack into the body's sync socket (twist and lock?) though I've never seen one of these sync cables personally. Anyway, thank you for the follow-up!

      The Hasselblad 55111 was for the Hasselblad D-Flash 40. It had a standard connection to connect with the Hasselblad body or leaf shutter lenses. From memory it was made by Metz so will be the same connection that Metz used in other flash units for Bronica, Nikon, Canon, Leica etc.

    Hello my 2000 fc shutter is not releasing. I can remove the lens and the back. But the shutter button is not engaging and the cocking mechanism is not turning. Also my depth of field preview isn’t working. Any advice?

      I assume you checked the battery? Otherwise, send to a good Hasselblad repairer. Hopefully it will be an easy fix.

    Hello, may I ask how 2000fc/m should test the curtain speed, and if the curtain is damaged and oil leaking, does it need to be repaired?

    • @WorldwideCameraExchange
      @WorldwideCameraExchange  Рік тому

      The shutters on the Hasselblad F series camera are very vulnerable. Ideally you should avoid anything with shutter damage. That said, the camera may still work with minor damage. Put a film in and test at top speeds and slow speeds. Exposure should be consistent across the frame. Hope it’s okay!

    hi Jonathan. you were super helpful with some questions I had before about a modified 80mm lense. I now have a differrent question about what I think is a fault in the focal plane shutter on my 2000 fcw. I've noticed on a few frames, that there are 3 different exposure zones happening. basically divide the frame into 3, the mid section (about 20% of the area slightly below the midpoint of the frame space) is correctly exposed. the bounding areas are over underexposed - ie show up light on the reverse negative. for at least 2 of the 4 times this occured over two different rolls, it was bloody cold and I was shooting outdoors. on one of them I had been indoors for less than one hour so camera was probably still somewhat cold.
    if I were to stick to the inbult lense leaf shutter, would this sporadic problem go away (ie do you think it would likely be the shutter or the curtain).
    thank you so much
    Rob

    • @WorldwideCameraExchange
      @WorldwideCameraExchange  Рік тому

      Sounds like the focal plane shutter. Try with a leaf shutter instead and if the problem goes away you’ll have your answer.

      I think, unfortunately, you’ll find it is a shutter problem.
