I purchased a One X at launch and so far, I have been quite pleased with the results! FAR less loading time, great updated looks for games, smoother gameplay, not to mention 4K everything, and many more perks. Upgrading from an original Xbox One, I would say it is worth it.
because it simply does depend. I just bought myself a ps4 (regular slim one) because I dont care about a few extra pixels or fps in a game or two that I probably never gonna buy anyway.

My favorite feature about the XBOX ONE X isn’t even the overpowered graphics or the gameplay performance, but actually the cooling system. I love how there’s so many holes for the console to breath because that’s game changing.

You can have 2 pairs of rechargeable AA's if one ever dies you can just pop the other pair in, and the charging cord charges the AA's. My ps4 is constantly too far away to play and charge at the same time, even with a 6ft cable

Atleast for me the added cost of about 5$ per controller is worth it, and they have better battery life too. I never do that, and especially with 4 controllers and only 2 ports at the front its kind of jsut a hassle having cables everywhere, but again thats just me

Controllers that have rechargeable batteries however are amazing as you can play with it while charging without God damn batteries. Also you have to pay every time you want to recharge your controller if you use batteries, plus it creates alot of E-Waste.

weight doesn't matter. Weight distribution does and so long as it doesn't fall, it doesn't matter. The problem I am seeing is that all air flow is coming from the sides, so I guess you need that stand to not block airflow completely on the side it's standing on.

I love this, I'm genuinely impressed. Even as a PC gamer I can take a step back and take in this beautiful hardware. What's amazing is the incredible bump on emulated 360 games. That's something they never needed to do, nor is it anything anybody asked for, but now people have a reason to go back and re-experience these games outside of 720 with horrible aliasing. Although I'm more impressed they squeezed a Vega based GPU in a system that only draws 160w total.
Purely looking at the hardware compared to other consoles yes it's the best one hands down, but when it comes to competing with Nintendo and Sony with games it's a completely different story.
I upgraded from S to X two years ago and, if you have a 4k tv, the changes are incredibly noticeable. Literally night and day. $500 was well worth it. No regrets at all.
The Xbox One X is a very nice console but I would wait a while before replacing my Xbox One console for the One X. Everyone sees that the One X $500 price tag with sale tax is really expensive when you can get the One for $300 plus sales tax. OK, that's expensive too. In my opinion sales wise you should wait a while for the Xbox One X till the price is more reasonable but that is going to be a long while before us gamers see that price dropping anytime soon. Also, some hardcore gamers like myself are NOT stuck on getting the latest and greatest when it comes to console I would love to see more development of the games before coming out with a new console and that is on the Sony side too.and I have not seen game developers not doing to much with the new consoles any and Mircosoft brings out a new console with NO GAMES. I just bought a 2TB Xbox One S on the cheap because the price tag for the Xbox One X was quite a bit but there was a good deal, 500 for the console plus a game and Elite Controller BUT the dealbreaker for me was 1TB storage, for 4K games that’s not a lot. They need a 10GB hard drive for it for it be worth my time.

This is 5 years later, but I just got a used one for like 200$. Didn't come with a controller, but I still consider it a great value (I already have one). Mid 2021, I bought a ps4 slim for around 300$, and was pretty salty to see the prices drop to around where I paid for the ps4. I think this makes up for that. Gonna be cool to use features like 4k blu-ray support, 4k games, and OG xbox backwards compatibility.

I got this on sale at Walmart in a bundle with Star Wars: Jedi Fallen order for 299 - which is crazy. Even now with the new consoles out(I have the ps5), the one x is still a fantastic xbox and great performance for some really cheap prices now.

You need to view the video at a higher resolution. Downscaled 4k on a 1080p monitor will still look better than regular 1080p, but native 4k still looks quite a bit better. Honestly I think just getting a 1080p TV with the X makes more sense as most games runs between 4k and 1440p.

I've seen the Xbox One X and i think that Microsoft need to move on from the Xbox One Family and create a new system family. When you play the online games the framerate and the graphics have to be limited to make it "fair" for people who are still on the Xbox One and the Xbox One X. D IS DOGE last gen lasted 11 years and each gen always lasts up to 6-8 years, and both Microsoft and Sony released a Slim and Upgraded versions of their systems. So I highly doubt they'll end it now but like 3 more years from now.

It still makes the game look better even if you don't have a 4k tv because of micro scaling. But, the system runs very loud when standing up and or with a disc in.
Since Microsoft is now considering publishing their games on all platforms and already has Play Anywhere, I'd say that going forward, there is pretty much no reason to own an Xbox at all.
Is it worth 500 bucks? Definitely. Is it worth uprading from a one s for 500 bucks? Probably not. Is it worth buying it in the first place? Probably yes
Well depending where you are, gamestop in the US is giving $150 instant credit towards an Xbox one X. So in turn $350 which is a great deal. I had an original Xbox one, sold it to gamestop for $100(was scratched up and nasty inside all dusty and such), bought an Xbox one S 500gb for 125 on craigslist, and will trade it in. In turn literally paying $300 out of pocket after tax for the one X. Honestly It might be worth it given i have a 4k monitor. And No $300 PC can come close(unless you got one heck of a deal) and itd in turn be cheaper than the ps4 pro put of pocket for me

The Xbox One X is a very nice console but I would wait a while before replacing my Xbox One console for the One X. Everyone sees that the One X $500 price tag with sale tax is really expensive when you can get the One for $300 plus sales tax. OK, that's expensive too. In my opinion sales wise you should wait a while for the Xbox One X till the price is more reasonable but that is going to be a long while before us gamers see that price dropping anytime soon. Also, some hardcore gamers like myself are NOT stuck on getting the latest and greatest when it comes to console I would love to see more development of the games before coming out with a new console and that is on the Sony side too.and I have not seen game developers not doing to much with the new consoles any and Mircosoft brings out a new console with NO GAMES. I say that seems logical.

I just bought a 2TB Xbox One S on the cheap because the price tag for the Xbox One X was quite a bit but there was a good deal, 500 for the console plus a game and Elite Controller BUT the dealbreaker for me was 1TB storage, for 4K games that’s not a lot. They need a 10GB hard drive for it for it be worth my time.

This is 5 years later, but I just got a used one for like 200$. Didn't come with a controller, but I still consider it a great value (I already have one). Mid 2021, I bought a ps4 slim for around 300$, and was pretty salty to see the prices drop to around where I paid for the ps4. I think this makes up for that. Gonna be cool to use features like 4k blu-ray support, 4k games, and OG xbox backwards compatibility.

I got this on sale at Walmart in a bundle with Star Wars: Jedi Fallen order for 299 - which is crazy. Even now with the new consoles out(I have the ps5), the one x is still a fantastic xbox and great performance for some really cheap prices now.

@@kevinbarbeau5001 Almost $2000, the TV was on sales at $500 and it does pretty good 4K. The console was almost $600 and the controller was $250 and the games where pretty cheap, half of them where only $20-$30. I also brought the SteelSeries arctis 9x headset for $200.

You need to view the video at a higher resolution.
Downscaled 4k on a 1080p monitor will still look better than regular 1080p, but native 4k still looks quite a bit better.
Honestly I think just getting a 1080p TV with the X makes more sense as most games runs between 4k and 1440p.

I've seen the Xbox One X and i think that Microsoft need to move on from the Xbox One Family and create a new system family. When you play the online games the framerate and the graphics have to be limited to make it "fair" for people who are still on the Xbox One and the Xbox One X. Its been almost 5 years Microsoft need to move on from the Xbox One Family.
D IS DOGE last gen lasted 11 years and each gen always lasts up to 6-8 years, and both Microsoft and Sony released a Slim and Upgraded versions of their systems. So I highly doubt they'll end it now but like 3 more years from now.

For the best all encompassing console gaming experience a console gamer should buy a base PS4 for the Sony exclusives & an Xbox One X for the best looking multiplats & the Blu Ray Player

However, the xbox one x does enough to get me to choose microsofts console but only if it had came out before i had bought my pro but its too late for me so im sticking with the pro. It still makes the game look better even if you don't have a 4k tv because of micro scaling. But, the system runs very loud when standing up and or with a disc in.
Since Microsoft is now considering publishing their games on all platforms and already has Play Anywhere, I'd say that going forward, there is pretty much no reason to own an Xbox at all.

Well depending where you are, gamestop in the US is giving $150 instant credit towards an Xbox one X. So in turn $350 which is a great deal. I had an original Xbox one, sold it to gamestop for $100(was scratched up and nasty inside all dusty and such), bought an Xbox one S 500gb for 125 on craigslist, and will trade it in. In turn literally paying $300 out of pocket after tax for the one X. Honestly It might be worth it given i have a 4k monitor. And No $300 PC can come close(unless you got one heck of a deal) and itd in turn be cheaper than the ps4 pro put of pocket for me
