  • In Tallahassee, Florida, there lived Brandi Peters and her three children. When her friends couldn't get through to her one day, the police would find a horror show at her home. The suspect seemed clear from the get go, Henry Segura hadn't paid child support and was fighting with Brandi. But just as the trial began, another suspect wanted to take the credit.

    This case bothers me greatly.
The complete lack of physical evidence is what bothers me.
    Not saying he is innocent.
I'm just perplexed by there being no evidence found of him at the crime scene or them on any of his belongings.
Nobody deserves to die like that especially not children and I can't begin to fathom the fear they all must have felt, what an evil evil crime this was.

I remember back when Mike had 200,000 subscribers! I have been a member for a couple of years now in addition to being a subscriber. Mike, you deserve every ounce of continued success. You are consistent, educated on each case, and somehow you manage to cover tragedies while also managing to make me crack a smile. I believe that humour must enter tragedy and grief to some degree. The alternative is utter despair. And you are always compassionate regarding victims, always keeping them front and center in your narratives. Thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, and wit.

The weird part for me is that if I were sitting next to him having a conversation on the bus, he would never strike me as someone capable of child murder. Same with Chris Watts. Murdering one's own child is just unfathomable, yet the people capable of it often come across as fairly normal. The lying about the second cellphone and it being traced to Brandi's was pretty damning... along with the scratches but not enough to be totally sure. It's too bad the DNA under the finger nails couldn't be identified. That would have been the only sure way to know he was involved in the attack, as his DNA certainly would have been in the house where he would see his son. Guilt or innocence is determined by juries. But--- I never cease to be amazed how, as the GUILTY verdict is being read, as is the case here with Henry, almost always the defendant that has proclaimed his innocence listens very impassively to the guilty verdict. They almost never react "astonished or outraged" as I think a truly innocent person would. Henry's face has GUILT written all over it as the judge says guilty.
