    Really like the shot where the water beads formed the word "Esoteric" . Cool! I wish the water beads were smaller but so far I haven't seen any leather coating that rivals the smaller size of water beads of a typical coating for paint.

    Thanks guys. Appreciate all the effort with the how to/application videos. I continue to learn new things to support my car detailing obsession, which is a hobby for my personal cars. Only bad news is i didn't order this stuff in my past two orders this month.....which means i have to prepare a third order soon!

    Great video. I coated the seats with Gyeon Leather Shield a few weeks ago. So far so good.
    Thanks for the tip on the leather cleaner as a maintenance product. Was not aware that it would not strip the coating.

    Most cars today, including high end ones have "fake" leather, does this product work on those materisls as well?
    I work on a lot of Tesla's and they use a leather alternative, want to offer this to customers but want to make sure it won't harm the seats.

    • @Esotericdetail

      It would be fine for seating surfaces. I wouldn't use it on dashboards though.

      if it uses fake leather it's probably not high end.

    Hello, planning to purchase leather shield.
    I am currently using leather cleaner + leather coat on my current car but I am getting new car next month and going to use leather shield on it.
    The question is, after applying leather shield, how should leather be maintained? will leather cleaner alone be ok?

    • @cwh0418
      @cwh0418 7 років тому +3

      haha never mind, I rewinded video back and got my answer xD.
      seems I have missed it!, Thank you always for your tasty reviews :D

      The leathercleaner does remove the leather coat application. But it won't with the shield :)

    Will this coating make the leather more shiny than the Gyeon leather coat? Does it also make it slippery at all?

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  5 років тому +1

      It will add more of a richness than shine provided you use it correctly. It does not however make the finish slippery.

    Does this impair leather breathability and or clog perforations? Are heated/ventilated seats adversely affected?

    Hi Todd, only 1 layer or is the durabillity better with 2 layers? Maybe 2 layers on the steering wheel or is this not done?
    Thnx

    • @Esotericdetail

      If I recall, it doesn't bond well with itself, therefore 1 layer will suffice!

      We don't see too many of those in our shop (OK, so none of them!), so I can't comment on how this product would work with it.

    After Leather Shield, LeatherCoat is the only product we can use to maintain leather? Does Leather Coat hidrate leather?

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  3 роки тому +1

      After Leather Shield, you should find that simply a damp towel is all that you need. As for the Gyeon products, I would use one or the other...not both.

    Thank you for making wonderful videos. I have recently taken delivery of a new tesla model 3 and bave a couple of questions regarding products to use.
    I took delivery a month ago and have already had suntek ppf installed on the full front which includes hood bumper lights mirros and front fendors and on top of the entire car had gtechniq crystal serum ultra installed with the exo v4 topper.
    I want to preserve my vehicle and want to use these products.
    Prewash: gyeon foam
    Shampoo: Gyeon Bathe or Bathe + or car pro reset
    Sealant: Gyeon Cure or CarPro Reload
    Exactly what gyeon towels should i get im stafting from scratch and theres so many towels from gyeon
    Lastly the tesla interior is a leatherette/vegan leather that is matte, would you still reccomend cleaning it with gyeon leather and using the leather shield over it. Is it safe for vegan leather

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  5 років тому +1

      All you need is Gyeon Bathe, and Cure. Use Bathe in your foam gun. If you're using a maintenance product like Cure, you don't need Bathe+. Use Gyeon Silk Dryer towels for drying. For applying Cure, I'd recommend our Esoteric Red Premium microfiber towels. If your seats are white, then I'd use the Leather Shield. If darker color, just use their Leather Coat.

    Todd, does this change the scent of the leather?

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  7 років тому +1

      There is no scent change. The coating itself has a slight solvent smell when applying, but goes away almost immediately.

      @Esotericdetail  3 роки тому

      Sorry, not familiar with that material.

    • @christinawilliams6641
      @christinawilliams6641 3 роки тому

      Nuluxe is the faux leather used in some Lexus vehicles including any F-sport variety. I consulted with Gyeon and they said yes this can be used on Nuluxe but not to use it on any full or even semi-aniline leather (Lexus uses Sami-aniline - so if you have a Lexus with semi-aniline (most luxury packages with exception of f-sports), they recommend leather coat alone, not this).

      Appreciate the videos you guys make, very informative for us weekend warriors! With regards to using Leatherique and Leather Shield, I understand you are recommending to not use both of these products in conjunction, do you say that because Leatherique can provide the same level of protection, alas with much more work involved?

    protection against liquids??
    liquids don't do anything to leather anyway, you spill something, you just wipe it right off. done.

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  5 років тому

      Have you ever seen what happens to leather seats when a window is left open in the rain? Liquids can and do soak into the leather. They are water resistant, and not water proof.

    • @mainlymusicman
      @mainlymusicman 5 років тому

      @@Esotericdetail obvioulsy you dont want to leave a window wide open for hours in the rain. lol. i was talking about an occasional spill of water or coke or pepsi.
      just wipe it off. nothing happens.

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  5 років тому

      @@mainlymusicman The point is that leather is not waterproof, and liquids can affect leather. A barrier like Leather Shield prevents those issues, and the detailers and consumers buying this product are looking for a solution to that potential problem.
