You've explained and most importantly SHOWN the process much better than Leatherique themselves. Outstanding video and presentation. When I'm ready to purchase some in the next few months (once we're out of the spring time Ice Age here in the north east) I will for sure be purchasing from you. Thank you!
Leatherique has never demonstrated the process very well. I’ve NEVER achieved the results that George (Leatherique‘s owner) has claimed. TERRIBLE customer service from Leatherique. Thanks for posting this video.
Many years ago I bought an old Volvo 960 with leather interior. It was hard like plastic, but no tears. I researched what Rolls Royce owners used on their leather. The Rolls Royce owners club endorsed a product with an odd name called “Leatherique”. I order some of the product as a kit within Prestine clean and Rejuvenating oil. Being my daily driver I was unable to let it sit for more than a few hours at a time, but little by little over time the leather started not only feeling like leather, but having that leather aroma we all love. I am a firm believer in the system. Yes, it’s more involved than just putting some cream on a rag, but you will find the results worth while and so rewarding.
I've heard of this product for years and finally pulled the trigger on purchasing. As many have claimed, the printed instructions are vague but after taking the time to watch your entire presentation, I am completely confidant and excited to try this on one of my cars. I've forwarded this and your link to a couple of friends, highly recommending this and checking out your other products.
I was always curious about this product largely because of this video. I was speeding a bit the other day and the police took my license away for 6 weeks. I thought to myself this'll be the perfect time to try this product out on my Lexus. So I ordered it and today applied it on the seats. I hope it does a good job! (I hope I did too)
It worked like magic and was easy to do even in cold weather. Some areas of the front seats needed four coats of rejuvenator but still I only used about 150ml for the whole car. The rejuvenator surely is water based as you can get it off your hands with water. That's why I tried to take the rejuvenator off from one seat with only a damp microfiber cloth and I can't tell any difference to the other seats which I cleaned with prestine clean. I'm not so sure what the point of prestine clean is.
Thank you for this tutorial, I was told many times about leatherique system and I always been skeptical. I've got 4 years old Nappa leather in pretty good shape as I clean it regularly with APC brush and so on but some area of my front seat never been to my liking so I decided to try LEatherique and oh man I was shocked by the end result when I pulled out the Rejuvenator it came out almost like new. Really worth the money and the process isnt hard at all. Just apply and let it sit over night, then clean it up as shown and done.
Great video! I’ve had a lot of luck saving this treatment for the summer months. Using the windows up in the summer heat technique (creating a greenhouse effect) really helps release the creases and quickens the soaking process. Heat is your friend for step one. Amazing product for deep conditioning & cleaning.
Thank you Rob! There was a lot of behind-the-scenes planning and efforts involved in this one, and I have to thank everybody that was involved in making it such a great video. We certainly look forward to producing more like it.
I just finished using Leatherique Rejuvenator and Pristine Clean on my leather in '93 Vette. This product is fantastic when used following Todd's instructions. WOW !!
Fantastic video! I followed it step by step for my restoration project and every question I had along the way was answered in this video at some point. Thank you very much!
Great video. I used these product to rework old BMW seats that I dyed a different color. Works amazing. People need to understand that this is not a 10 minute fix the first time they use it as most seats have been neglected or ignored. On the trash bag issue get the clear ones that are out there in the event you need to sit on the seats for a bit. Thank you for taking the time to post as most people wont take the time to read the directions and then wonder what is going on. My leather is amazing after a few soaks of the rejuvenator. Nice point on the water and changing it out as you will be amazed at how much junk is on you seats. This product is to leather what clay bars are to paint!
I was always confused on how to use this product after reading on line on how it's used it all makes sense but this video made it all that much better I just think they need to swap the labels on the products
Any suggestions on how to apply Leatherique’s Rejuvenator oil, leave it on the leather seats/door cards/center console for 24-48 to really permeate the leather, while only having one car? How am I going to get around? Lol. I’m glad I took the time to watch the entire video, as it is very informative and concise. You earned my like and my subscription. Best wishes!
I have been used leatherique wrong all this time! Thanks for the help . I will definitely check the site in the future. Honestly I can’t understand how 11 people gave this video a thumbs down.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing I didn’t we were Local to each other so I will have to Stop in and check y’all out . I am not a professional I am just someone who has never a love for the art for Detailing.
Damn good video! I Leatherique’d my 2012 Accord after I let a water/BCAA mix sit on my perfect leather seats for like two days...the leather is still deformed, but, it does look better than it did. It did a fantastic job cleaning and conditioning the seats...I can’t believe what it did the Audi seat! Esoteric, if you read this, do you feel that if I let the rejuvenating oil sit for like month, with me re applying over when it turns white on the “scar”, it would help? I think I’m cleaning so much I’m taking dye out.
We have taken some seats, and continue to re-apply Rejuvenator for several weeks. It would literally get more product applied every day or so. When it looked like it had soaked in, we would re-apply it. It turned these BMW brick seats into soft, supple leather when we were done, and the owner was absolutely floored with it.
Nice presentation of leatherique process. Have you done aniline leather treatment with leatherique? I wonder if there is a way to keep the crack lines in the coat from getting darker because of the rejuvinator. A lot of owners of volvo s60R/v70R complain that after using leatherique the seats that had some breaks or cracks in the leather turn dark. Thanks
Great Video! Thank you for taking the time to make it. Can you use this product on perforated seats? If so is there anything you would do different on them? I have a 13 Toyota Highlander with tan leather seats and perforated centers. Thanks again..
Great video, very informative. I do have a question though; I purchased this product to bring back my old dry E30 seats, but the driver's has a few tears. I have some patches and a repair kit I plan to use, but should I fix the seat first then clean, or do it the other way around?
Awesome video Todd, some day I will have a beautiful shop like yours. I have a 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD [80k] with heated seats and perforated leather and black interior. Do I have to take any precautions when using this product? I'm a little concerned about product getting into the perforations and clogging them. Thanks...
Thank you. No worries on the perforated leather seats. Just don't "dump" a ton of Rejuvenator on the base of the seats and you will be fine. I have been treating perforated seats with Leatherique for many years, and on my personal cars, without a single issue whatsoever.
Hi Todd I had my BMW leather seat covers replaced with new leather covers. The shop that installed them did a good job and they massaged some Lexol conditioner which made the leather very soft and gave the Imola Red leather pop really nice. I have had these covers on since April 2018 and want to preserve them from the start. I would like to know if you would recommend a full leatherique process (Rejuvenator/prestine clean)? The leather that was used for these covers is a bit more rigid and thus after the shop did a massage with some Lexol conditioner, everyone noticed a big difference in the enhanced softness of the leather. I absolutely love it. There is scorching sun which would make a great steam effect for the rejuvenator oil!!! Regards, Mark
If they are true leather, than this system would be great for it. With this, you need nothing else for your leather so don't get caught up in the "more products are better" way of thinking!
14:06 damn son, he used up almost all the big bottle in only one car. I've always used Zaino Leather in a bottle no complaints, but I bought this out of curiosity. Requiring almost all the bottle for one go makes this product very very expensive though.
That's our shop bottle...not a brand new one opened just for that particular job. Yes, it takes more product than traditional "cleaners", but it's an entirely new level of deep cleaning and conditioning (and preservation).
I have partial leather seats in my 01 IS300. Any issues with getting Leatherique on the cloth inserts? I don’t think it’s suede but I’m really not sure. Thanks.
Good morning, I'd like to say good video. Well, my black leather seats are usually always clean. Soon, not even 3 months ago I applied Gyeon Leather cleaner and Gyeon Q2 leather coat sealant. As the banks have some wrinkles from the former owner, I decided to ask for help and that's where Leatherique appeared. I saw a series of videos including yours. I did the application as it shows in the video, I did it in stages, I let it dry from day to day on the street. And Eyes seen nothing improved !!! Will I have to do it again? -Leatherique rejuvenator Oil -Leatherique Prestine Clean Prestine Clean, I did not find it effective, much better the Gyeon leather cleaner. Thank you SFF. Thank you.
Leather is a natural product, and will therefore get wrinkles or creases that cannot be fixed with a product like Leatherique or other. And consider the Prestine Clean to be an all-in-one (cleaner and conditioner), whereas the Gyeon product is strictly a cleaner. When using Rejuvenator, you want to make sure you are using the Prestine Clean as your follow up and nothing else. Thanks for the feedback.
Greetings I am going to have the driver’s side leather seat of my BMW fully reupholstered and the entire sand colored leather interior repainted in a cinnamon color. I had used the Leatherique conditioner/cleaner on this interior previously and would like to know if i can safely use it again once my interior has been painted/repaired without any discoloration problems. The shop doing this job also puts a clearcoat on the leather once the paint/repair process is complete Regards, Mark
Based on what they are doing, it might be pointless to try. Also, the dye manufacturer / installer would be best to ask that question because there are a lot of different products out there. I've seen some hold up just fine after Leatherique, and some that break down in the process.
Would you recommend this to clean a tire stain. I have a 2013 Honda Accord and had a new tire in the back seat and it left a stain that I can’t get out with other leather cleaners.
Hey Todd. Perfect video on this product thank you! I have a 2008 Acura TL and there are some vinyl storage compartments on the back of the seats. Should I tape those off or just wipe clean right after applying the cleaner?
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing I apologize. I didn't mean I was going to apply leatherique to the vinyl parts, I meant what is best way to avoid them? Tape off while treating the leather, or just wipe off any residual product that gets on the vinyl? Thanks!
Good morning I bought this product and it have a strange smell, like an orange beginning to deteriorate. That is the normal smell?? I don’t know if it is damage
Hello Todd, I bought the conditioner and the cleaner and this video really helped me what I have to do with the products but I have a question if you have the time to give me and advice, place. What about the perforated leather with cooling and heating in the seats? Can the products damage anything when will go trough the punctures? The car is a BMW 2016. Your advice will be really appreciated. Thank you again.
Thanks, and I'm glad the video has worked out for you. In all the years that we have been using Leatherique, we have never had a single issue with perforated / heated / cooled seats.
hey, Todd. I watched and commented on the video & subscribed to the channel last night. This morning I began thinking about something. If the Leatherique product actually does penetrate into the leather, then how far down can/does it go? My reason for asking is...what about situations when the dash or door panels typically has the leather glued down? What is the possibility of this product penetrating far enough down to the glue and causing future problems? Or is there a different product that you would recommend for those areas, specifically the dash. I have a car which the make & model have a known possibility over time, for the leather dash to dry & shrink around the air vents. The black leather dash which is already 17 years old but still currently in perfect condition due to previously residing in the Midwest and garaged. Currently, and for the past 3 months resides outside, in the "hot as H3LL" Houston area, with a reflective dash/windshield panel plus 2 car covers and vented. Other than trying to further limit exposure to extreme heat & UV rays, how would you recommend to treat and care for such an older, black, leather dash, to keep it somewhat "hydrated", soft and also prevent shrinking and separation from the base? I would definitely appreciate your thoughts on this. (I will also send this message via email in case I don't receive a replay notification from youtube) Thanks!
It depends on a lot of factors. If you have a convertible for instance, that gets a lot of use, then I would do it once to twice per year. Older cars with older leather should be done minimum of once per year, but preferably twice.
Huge Thanks Todd!... ditched Leatherique 10 years ago based on too much application/removal confusion. Will take it out of storage. Have you tried utilising the cleaner in the Tornador??
Can you pre-heat the seats (heat gun, hot room, heater etc..) THEN apply oil ? Can you use it on vinyl ? How come you don't clean the seats before rubbing in the oil? wouldnt cleaning it beforehand remove dirty etc.. from the pores allowing the oil to do it's thing and soak in easier ? Does 'gravity' have an effect on how the oil absorbs into the leather ? i.e. should you recline the seat-back ?
Sure you can, but I don't see a need to. We do not pre-heat seating surfaces, and get stellar results. I would only use the Prestine Clean on vinyl. Sure, you could pre-clean with something like Gyeon Leather Cleaner, but you're just adding an unnecessary step. The Rejuvenator is designed to be a deep cleaner and conditioner.
Very detailed video! Will be planning to purchase as soon as I can! Question: Based on the sizes you're displaying (not sure what size of bottles they are) , what size bottle do you recommend for sedan sized car for one application?
The smaller 16oz bottles should suffice for one application, and you should have extra left over. You'll use a lot more of the Rejuvenator than you will the Prestine Clean, but then you have the Prestine Clean for your maintenance cleaning...
Hey. I have 2018 jeep trackhawk. Do I have let the prestine sit that long? And also my dash and doors and center console is leather. Can I just use the prestige clean on that or should I use both like the seats. Again. Car is 1 month old. Thanks in advance
For best results, you do want to allow the Rejuvenator sit for at least 8 hours (24 preferably). I would then just use the Prestine Clean on your dash, doors, and center console.
It varies greatly. And, you will go through a lot more of the Rejuvenator than you will the Prestine Clean. Under normal conditions, you should be able to get probably 4 cars' worth out of the big bottle.
Hello, I believe my vehicle may have vinyl mixed in with the leather surfaces, but am not sure which is which. Will the rejuvenator oil work on the vinyl or will it be of any damage.. Thanks
Can the rejuvenator and pristine clean be used on steering wheels. Saw a bunch of people saying this stuff is great on BMW Merino Leather and was wondering if it could be used on the steering wheel. Vehicle is 2013 BMW M5
What would happen if your leather seats are perforated? Would conditioner damage the electrical work inside of the seat since you've to soak the seats with the condition multiple time?
Is this still your favorite? If I'm going to use some ColourLock crack filler and sponge applied dye, should I use the Leatherique first to get the leather soft and then a day or two later use the filler/dye? Or should I fill/dye first?
Yes, it is still my favorite and I literally just applied 3 layers to an old Porsche Targa yesterday! You need to check with the manufacturer of the crack filler to see what they have to say about it on which comes first, or if they even think they are compatible.
ESOTERIC, can you explain how this process might need to be altered for brands that often have perforated leather seats, such as Porsche? Thanks in advance.
Awesome video, I've been using leatherique for years on my vettes and it's always worked great. I recently picked up a Chevy Volt with "leather" seats and ordered a new C7 Z06 (Torch Red of course). I picked up a bottle of Gyeon leather coat on my detailers recommendation. Would you recommend sticking with Leatherique or does the Gyeon product have its place as well? Thanks!
Thanks Jeff. Gyeon Leather Coat definitely has its place as well, and we use it regularly in our shop (we were the original and exclusive importers of Gyeon into the USA). You could always start off with Gyeon, then switch over to Leatherique after some time and miles in the new cars.
So if I get only the cleaner for some chairs a little dirty, will it do anything? And can the cleaner be used with a conditioner “oil” from other brand ? Thank you
Prestine Clean by itself is a good one-step product when you're not looking for deep cleaning and conditioning. I would not recommend using any other "conditioner" with Prestine Clean, as they work nowhere near the same level as Rejuvenator.
Very informative... got sent here by Obsessed Garage. Is this product safe to use on all sorts of leathers or is it made specially for car seats? Does it work on lamb/pig/croc hide? Does it also work on sofas/handbags/shoes?
Glad you made it over...please be sure to check out our expansive video collection! Yes, you can use this on any type of leather, and it can be used on sofas, handbags, etc.
I'm currently cleaning my Lexus seats.I have read that because they are coated it won't clean properly. What is your opinion on cleaning coated seats with leatherique? Also will it work when its colder and leaving on for longer?
I do believe that I address that question in the video, but it doesn't matter how it's made...Leatherique works perfectly. For the colder temps, simply allow it to sit for longer periods of time.
I used this before on my old Lexus with phenomenal results but now that I have a new model, with perforated/cooled seats, I’ve been worried to use it because I’d be afraid it would all go through the perforations and potentially make the air conditioned seats not work? Any thoughts on this?
No worries. We may go a little lighter on the application of Rejuvenator, but that's it. We have applied it to many perforated seats throughout the years without an issue.
Yes, Prestine Clean contains UV protection. You do not want to use a product like Gyeon Leather Coat after using Leatherique as you will have bonding issues.
How long after using Leatherique could you apply Gyeon leather coat? It only makes sense that after restoring worn seats to protect them afterwards. I understand the rejuvinator oil may cause bonding issues, but perhaps after a few weeks then clean with prestine clean again it would be ok to coat? Or would Gyeon leather coat only be applicable to new or in very good condition seats to keep them that way?
I would not try to combine products because you will definitely have bonding issues. The only way you could do it would be to thoroughly clean (again) with plain water, then maybe use Gyeon Leather Cleaner first before applying a leather coating. For me though...I wouldn't do it as I would use one or the other, but not both.
Thank you so much! My e39 light yellow leather is so dry and hard and now I feel comfortable to do it. Any advice when the leather is really hard? Thank you again! As soon the summer comes I will buy from you.
With really dry or hard leather, just be prepared to continue to apply the Rejuvenator as long as it keeps soaking in. You also may want to repeat the process 2-4 weeks after your initial application as the leather continues to soften for a few weeks after application.
You're not going to add anything on this that would be a better conditioner. If you applied to very dry seats, you may want to re-apply after a couple of weeks as the Rejuvenator will continue to soak in and soften during that time.
Hi Todd, are there special considerations that I need to take if using this with heated/cooled seats that are perforated? thanks and love all the new videos!
Thanks, and glad that you're enjoying our new video series. As for heated / cooled / perforated seats, we treat them the exact same way without any issues. In those cases we may use a little less product because the perforations actually allow the Rejuvenator to soak in more easily.
Todd, My 2015 F31 Beemer has red seats. Is it safe to use use Rejuvenator Oil on these? At the moment I only use Dr. Leather to clean them. I never used a product to condition them. Thanks for taking your time to explain the how-to properly.
Would you recommend doing this to leathers that have been coated(Gyeon Leather Shield)? How often do you recommend doing the full system? What happens if you get it on suede?
That would be kind of backwards...you want the super deep cleaning with a product like this first, then apply a leather sealant if you find it necessary. It depends on the use of the car, but a time or two per year for most, then maintain it with the Prestine Clean. Try to avoid suede or alcantara as much as possible, but if you do get some on it, it's a water based product so it should clean up relatively easily.
Hey guys, awesome video. What are your thoughts in regards to leather specific coatings such as Gyeon Leather Coat/Gyeon LeatherShield when used with the Leatherique Rejuvenation System? Is it needed? Does leatherique itself leave behind enough protection? If you were to install one of these coatings after are there any steps between the cleaning process and coating process to ensure it bonds to the leather?
Thanks, and glad you liked it. And as for your question, I would use one or the other...not both. There could potentially be a bonding issue if the coatings if you tried to put it on seats that have just been treated with Leatherique.
Great video Todd. I have one of the cars in the background on the left with alcantara in portions of the seat..... is this treated the same or do you treat the alcantara portions differently?
Hello Chris. You do not want to use Leatherique on Alcantara! In most cases, just a damn cloth is all that is needed to clean it. But if you need more than that, you can use a dedicated Alcantara Cleaner from SONAX. We do have that available in the store.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing So just be careful not to get Rejuvenator on the alcantara? I have a 14 GT500 with Recaro seats which have alcantara on the bolsters. Maybe tape it off? Also, should I keep the prestine clean off the alcantara?
ESOTERIC thank you for the response, I’ve used leatherique and got good results but some parts of my leather look a bit dry/wet at the same time if that makes any sense, any idea why?
@@kazballa24 The only way that would happen would be if you didn't get all of the Rejuvenator removed during your Prestine Clean stage. Wiping it down with a damp towel, followed by a dry towel should do the trick.
What happens if either of the Leatherique products would touch Alcantara inserts on a seat that's half leather, half Alcantara? How would you remove the product from the Alcantara inserts if you'd touch it?
Wow, that was a very nice job. I would like to know if i can let the car in the sun with the product to speed up a little the process. The product remove ink too? Very nice videos. I have a question: Does Sonax owns Rupes? I mean, Sonax is behind Rupes Polishers? I've heard that today here in Germany, but I didn't believed in this information. If you know something, let me know. Keep on nice work.
Yes, you can pull the car outside and roll up the windows to speed up the process with heat. Do not however, try to use hair dryers, heat guns, or other methods though. As for Rupes, they are a family owned company and have been since about 1947.
Will the leatherique pristine clean still clean pretty well if it is used on its own? I have been using leatherique prestige clean followed up by a leather conditioner for sometime and was wondering if I should just get the rejuvenator oil.
Yes, Prestine Clean is a perfect all-in-one leather maintenance product, and you should not be using a conditioner afterwards. Even in the 2-part system, Prestine Clean is the FINAL product to use, not the first!
Oh, I was using Prestine Clean as a cleaner and then feeding the leather again after that with the conditioner, is that not as good as usage of the product?
Awesome video Todd! Quick question, is the Leatherique Rejuvenator and Pristine clean safe for colored stitching like the red stitching of Porsche GTS model seats? Or would you advise avoiding the stitching all together? Thanks!!
It's not a "re-dye" but a newer replacement Red Leather Steering Wheel for my 81 Vette. It appears (and is common) the oil, sweat etc from my hands may have broken down the Red Dye some as, whenever I try to use anything to clean or protect the Red coating I'll see a little Red transfer onto the rag. I want to STOP this from happening.
Yes. If you've got really hard, or really dirty seats, then more time might be in order. We've had cars where we've repeatedly treated the seats for a period of several weeks.
Aren't most leathers on newer cars clear coated? And doesn't that mean you can just clean the seats with a simpler process, e.g., diluted general purpose or even steam?
When you watch the video, it talks about myths as it relates to newer leathers, and how they can be deep cleaned and conditioned. It also discusses the fact that the product is designed as a deep cleaning and conditioning, and not for those looking for a quick cleaning. While it can be used, we do not condone all purpose cleaners as a solution for cleaning leather. Yes, steam can be used as a quicker cleaning, but it won't do anything to condition, preserve, or protect the leather.
Thanks, I missed the reference to clear coat. A particular detailer on UA-cam continually reinforces that myth. I use this product on not only my Jag XJ but also on an Italian leather couch and love seat and even on my wife's purses. Does a great job keeping everything soft and supple.
You've explained and most importantly SHOWN the process much better than Leatherique themselves. Outstanding video and presentation. When I'm ready to purchase some in the next few months (once we're out of the spring time Ice Age here in the north east) I will for sure be purchasing from you. Thank you!

Once you use it the right way, you instantly see why it's been such a great product for decades!
This is one of the best videos you have posted! Great job!
Thank you kindly! We put a tremendous amount of effort into this one, as we knew (a) it was much needed, and (b) it would be very popular.
I was always curious about this product largely because of this video. I was speeding a bit the other day and the police took my license away for 6 weeks. I've used this stuff on my 07 Infiniti G35 and the seats look almost like the day I bought it. Love it. Take your time and let it sit
Does it require a conditioner afterwards? My leather feels a little dry/rough after an application on a g37
You are a car detailing God! followed your steps on my Bmw and dad's Lexus, both light coloured leathers and wow! absolutely worth every penny!!
Thank you for the positive feedback, and glad to hear that it worked out well.
All of your videos are top notch. This is one of your best so far. Obviously took a lot of work to produce. Thank you!
WOW !!
Thanks Darrell, and glad to hear that it worked so well!
Fantastic video! I followed it step by step for my restoration project and every question I had along the way was answered in this video at some point. Thank you very much!
Finally a great explanation video about the right way to use the best leather system in the market. Congrats colleague!
Thanks my friend...glad you liked it!

Thanks for the great write up! The seats on my 97 M3 look brand new (minus the cracks of course!)
Thank you, just realized I have to spend more money !
It is what it is, we got to do what we love 🙏🏻
Great great explanation, Todd.👍🏼
Thank you, and glad you learned a bit from this video!
I was always confused on how to use this product after reading on line on how it's used it all makes sense but this video made it all that much better I just think they need to swap the labels on the products
I'm glad to hear that the video helped to clarify things for you!
Well...can't help you on that one! Thanks for watching, and for your support.
Todd will buy you a GT2 RS as a second car.
Put a couple garbage bags over the seat when you have to drive it somewhere.
I have been used leatherique wrong all this time!
Thanks for the help . I will definitely check the site in the future.
Honestly I can’t understand how 11 people gave this video a thumbs down.
Thank you, and agreed!
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing
I didn’t we were Local to each other so I will have to Stop in and check y’all out .
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing
Great news! I’ll continue to re-apply, the Vegas heat gives me an advantage.
Perfect Video. I've used Leatherique before, but this still taught me a lot.
No problem on perforated seats. Use the same process...
So when would you use the brush? between the rejuvenator and the cleaner? a bit confusing
I don't know about newer cars but on my eighties Jags and Mercs its Brilliant New to your channel and very impressed.Cheers From OZ
Thanks for the feedback Robert, and glad that you like the channel. Please help spread the word!!
Great video, very informative. I do have a question though; I purchased this product to bring back my old dry E30 seats, but the driver's has a few tears. I have some patches and a repair kit I plan to use, but should I fix the seat first then clean, or do it the other way around?
If it were me, I'd clean/preserve the seats first!
Well done Todd.
Thank you!
Excellent tutorial Todd!!!
Thank you!
Hi Todd
I had my BMW leather seat covers replaced with new leather covers.
Regards,
Mark
If they are true leather, than this system would be great for it. With this, you need nothing else for your leather so don't get caught up in the "more products are better" way of thinking!
Always wanted a full instructional on this, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for this explanation.
Great video. Much appreciated. I will try this as soon as I can.
Glad you liked it...please be sure to check out the rest of our video library as well!
If any, do you recommend a coating product to be applied after the cleaning process?
No. If you're doing Leatherique, then stick with that process and maintain with Leatherique Prestine Clean.
Excellent job Todd, very good video.
-Leatherique rejuvenator Oil
-Leatherique Prestine Clean
Prestine Clean, I did not find it effective, much better the Gyeon leather cleaner.
Greetings
I am going to have the driver’s side leather seat of my BMW fully reupholstered and the entire sand colored leather interior repainted in a cinnamon color. I had used the Leatherique conditioner/cleaner on this interior previously and would like to know if i can safely use it again once my interior has been painted/repaired without any discoloration problems.
The shop doing this job also puts a clearcoat on the leather once the paint/repair process is complete
Regards,
Mark
I wouldn't use the Rejuvenator on those, but it would be OK to use the Prestine Clean on them during your final process.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing I apologize. I didn't mean I was going to apply leatherique to the vinyl parts, I meant what is best way to avoid them? Tape off while treating the leather, or just wipe off any residual product that gets on the vinyl? Thanks!
Chris...just wipe off any residual product afterwards as it won't hurt anything if it's on there for a few minutes.
Very informative. Will be doing my Aston Martin Vantage with 70k on tomorrow, will be great to see the difference. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you. Just follow the instructions, and you can't go wrong!
Great info, presentation and results! Much appreciated!
Good morning I bought this product and it have a strange smell, like an orange beginning to deteriorate. That is the normal smell?? I don’t know if it is damage
That's a different way to describe the scent, but yes, it does have a bit of a different scent to it than any other products I've used.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing Well thank you, I was concerned about that
Hello Todd, I bought the conditioner and the cleaner and this video really helped me what I have to do with the products but I have a question if you have the time to give me and advice, place.
How often do I must generally use this method of 2 steps?
It depends on a lot of factors. If you have a convertible for instance, that gets a lot of use, then I would do it once to twice per year. Older cars with older leather should be done minimum of once per year, but preferably twice.
great video Todd learning a lot
Thank you Carlos!
Huge Thanks Todd!... ditched Leatherique 10 years ago based on too much application/removal confusion. Will take it out of storage. Have you tried utilising the cleaner in the Tornador??
You're welcome, and thanks for the positive feedback. No I have not as we do not use the Tornador for any type of interior cleaning.
Used it on my 2002 audi s8 and totally softened the leather from cardboard hard to soft
Do you recommend and leather conditioner between uses of this?
This is a long process so only planning on doing it when completely necessary.
No. Use the Prestine Clean for maintenance between applications.
How many seats can you do with the big bottles of leatherique? Thank you
It varies greatly.
Thanks
It shouldn't damage the vinyl, but it won't really do anything for it.
is it a waste if the car is in the cold? thanks
Can the rejuvenator and pristine clean be used on steering wheels. Saw a bunch of people saying this stuff is great on BMW Merino Leather and was wondering if it could be used on the steering wheel. Vehicle is 2013 BMW M5
Yes it can, although in most cases all you need is the Prestine Clean for steering wheels.
What would happen if your leather seats are perforated? Would conditioner damage the electrical work inside of the seat since you've to soak the seats with the condition multiple time?
We've never seen any issues with heated / cooled perforated seats when using Leatherique!
Hello, would you recommend using a steamer to heat up the leather prior to applying the rejuvenator to help the product to penetrate the leather?
Not necessary...
Thank you!!!
ESOTERIC, can you explain how this process might need to be altered for brands that often have perforated leather seats, such as Porsche? Thanks in advance.
No need to change the process! I may use just a little less Rejuvenator over the perforated part at most...otherwise do it just as described.
Isnt the leather seats on audis has polyurethane coating on it? Meaning water will bead off and wont soak into the leather?
As described in the video, modern leather is water resistant, not waterproof.
Thanks for the advice! I'll do just that, start off with the gyeon and switch to leatherique when I start seeing some wear on the seats.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing
I’ve tested today with some white sponges.. it really is amazing. Now my back harts but it will pass :))
Hi, would u recommend turning up the heat in the car to heat up leather for a little while to open up the pores?
That's not necessary...
What process do you use to apply the rejuvenator to perforated leather?
The exact same process!
Does this system leave behind any UV protection or can I follow up with something like gyeon leather coat to provide some?
ESOTERIC thanks for the answer! I guess a big package is the best! Take good care and stay safe!
I was going to get my seats professionally dyed...should I do that after using leatherique for best restults?
You would need to check with the person / company doing the re-dye work!
I just did this and got good results but my seats feel a little dry/rough, do you recommend another type of conditioner afterwards ?
Todd,
My 2015 F31 Beemer has red seats. Is it safe to use use Rejuvenator Oil on these?
At the moment I only use Dr. Leather to clean them. I never used a product to condition them.
Thanks for taking your time to explain the how-to properly.
ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing Many thanks Todd. I look forward to using this!
I would have no hesitation using it on red seats. I've used it on red seats that are extremely old, to brand new with no issues.
Its obvious this is a superior system of leather care. I'm throwing my other leather products in the garbage now. . Thanks for the video.
Thank you...you'll definitely like the Leatherique system!
Should I use an all purpose cleaner on the seats first or is that unnecessary?
Not necessary...
Will a reduced fat cool whip container work also?
Yes, but probably not as well as the full-fat version! :)
is there any way to incorporate steam into this protocol?
No need to or benefit, really.
Is there any other product to use along side this for sun protection or is it not needed ?
Prestine Clean provides its own UV protection.
It's water-based, so should clean up with a wet rag. I would not use it heavily right next to Alcantara as a precaution.
Doing this on my Audi RS4 Wingbacks right now here in Ireland! Thanks for showing me the way! :)
Glad to hear it's working out for you!
No, that's definitely not how you want to use it. Either use it by itself as a maintenance product, or AFTER you've used the Leatherique Rejuvenator.
Do you have dye for Bmw Portland brown leather ?
You would have to contact Leatherique directly for that...we do not carry their dyes.
Awesome video Todd! Quick question, is the Leatherique Rejuvenator and Pristine clean safe for colored stitching like the red stitching of Porsche GTS model seats? Or would you advise avoiding the stitching all together? Thanks!!
Thank you. We've never had any issues with colored stitching...
Great! I appreciate the reply! Keep up the great work :)
Would it be a good idea to steam the leather first before applying the first product? I know the steam would open the pores of the leather more...
I don't think the extra effort would give you any appreciative increase in results.
Got it. Thanks for the information!
Great video, thank you.
Thank you.
What would be the minimum temperature to apply Leatherique?
As long as you're above freezing, you should be OK. Having said that, the warmer the better!
Would this also work on vinyl seats?
It will provide no benefit for vinyl.
Will this product 'lift' the dyed leather color?
As stated in the video, it's always possible if the re-dye job wasn't a very good one!
Dumb question will this hurt Alcantara or ultra suede?
You don't want to get it on those areas.
@@Esotericdetail ok. My v series and tbss seats both have those inserts. I'll just have to tape the heck out of them
are there times when you need more than 48 hours to let the seat soak?
Yes. If you've got really hard, or really dirty seats, then more time might be in order. We've had cars where we've repeatedly treated the seats for a period of several weeks.
Subscribed! Awesome vid
Thanks...glad you liked it!
