It would be great if you did a 1 year test to see if it is still protecting and hydrophobic.
Great video. Helped me decide between black and white for my MYLR that I am ordering this week. Thanks again! I also ordered several products from below 🙂
I bought my 2023 Tesla Model 3 a month ago with white seats. I just applied both products to them. Thank you for the video.
Wow! Super brave of you to do the test at the end. I couldn’t have done that
The acting is top notch. Lol. Where can I get that clear coffee? Is it good?
my cousin said the exact same thing hahaha. has the most caffeine! You didnt' know? it's deep in the rainforest
LOVE THIS VIDEO! SO WELL MADE :)
Man I applaud you for doing this test for us. I just bought a new M4 with the Silvertone buckets seats and applied this coating but I will never test it like you did lol.
Haha
I'm glad I found your comment, as I've ordered the same vehicle & seats! How have they held up in terms of staying clean from stains?
Thanks so much for using you Tesla as an example for us!
Someone had to do it!!! Thank you!
Amazing video, My first model 3 I choose black because afraid of stain. This time I ordered Model Y with white interior which I always wanted and so glad I ran across this video.
Awesome!! Just went on a 2k roadtrip and seats look like new
@@EverydayChris most I've taken on my model 3 was 300 miles, planning on 1200 miles. Glad to know you already did 2k.
just ordered! thanks
Thanks for the video! Surprising about the food dye tho
well Chris, your video sold me and i just purchased the Gyeon and the spray leather spot cleaner since my new Y has white seats. There's no kids or pets but new jeans and spilled coffee just makes me cringe thinking about what the seats could look like... keeping my fingers crossed that I can properly apply the leather shield without messing it up. I also plan to keep baby wipes in the console for clean ups as well. thanks so much for sharing all your experiences and saving us lots of disasters.
Nice always good to have! Yes it’s been working for us with our dogs and dirt! Thanks for watching!
Hi, Donna. Can you let us know how the Gyeon Leather Shield is working on your white seats? Also, have you reapplied the product, or did you only apply it that one time? Thank you and take care.
Wow, thats real test.
haha thanks for watching!
@@EverydayChrisTime to sleep, I know u r from Irvine .
This is good info, thanks. I just got my 2023 Model X Thursday. In tips why tge front doors dont self open all the way?
I burned all my jeans before I took delivery of my Tesla with white interior
Hahaha
😂😂
Hi Chris. Love your postings. I've been watching for a couple years now and just got my Tesla MYLR white/white "delivered" this week (I had to drive an our to get it.) I bought the Leather Shield product to treat the seats. Can you tell me how long the strong odor takes until it's gone? Also, I've got a "curing paint" smell which is horrid. I mistook it for the "new car" smell, but it's not going away. Any ideas? I'm planning to ceramic coat the exterior (DIY with HydroSilex product), and hoping their prep product removes the smell because it seems like it's actually coming from the paint on the car. Weird. Thanks in advance for anything you can suggest.
Hey Chris. Great video. Can you use this product on Model S perforated seats?? Thx
hey Chris, great vid, thx! got the shield after watching it. would you recommend applying it on the armrest and the dashboard of the tesla as well?
Arm rest for sure! Any surface that you touch. Dash should be fine. I use 303 aerospace’s protectant! Make sure you get the stitching too!
Great video! Wife enjoys your delivery and style. Anyway, we ordered the protective seal stuff so on the way but we're having extrema issues with headliner (cloth) and sun visor (cloth). No one has videos how to best clean them. I think BC water can create its own water stain, so you are screwed.. How do you keep your headliner clean ??
Thanks for the video! Do you know if the stitching areas are also stain proof too? For instance, that spot where the food coloring slipped into the crease with the stitches. Thanks!
Make sure to coat the stitching! More prone to stains for sure! Going to reapply in a few months and do a better job! Thanks for watching princess Fiona!
Bravest Tesla UA-cam content creator I've seen... lol. I don't think I'd trust these products that much to do this to my own white seats... haha.
Haha all is good now
Best UA-cam Tesla channel ever. My guy must have money bags to do some stuff that he did 😂😂
My butt was clenched the whole time. Especially with the food coloring.
@@EverydayChris haha I bet! I would be too. Getting my MYP with the white I interior this weekend, so will be doing exactly this!
3:42 lol nice
I’m curious about the panels and door etc the seats are proven high quality.
Hey Chris! Love your video! Did you do a test or demo area to see if it yellowed at all? Or did you just go straight on seats?
I did put a little on uncoated seats but it still came off. The biggest reason for this coating is that it adds an additional layer on top so if you get dye transfer, you can buff it off
@@EverydayChris Gyeon says its perfectly safe for Tesla seats. I just did it over the weekend (tnx to this video also - confidence boost :) ) on new Tesla and no problem. Did use like +20 micofibre towels :)
Awesome
subscriber #2k lets go my guy
My boy!! Thanks man!
awesome videos!! How is this holding up? I'm curious if you still like this product or is there anything else you would recommend. Keep up the great vids!
Thanks! Love it so much I put it on the Cybertruck!
@@EverydayChris thanks! Awesome to know!
You deserve an oscar for your acting
Great video! I did my ceramic coating with the Q2 leathershield yesterday. One thing I noticed when I drove the car the next day was that my seat was definitely more slippery. Did you notice this as well? Does it get less slippery after a while? Thanks in advance.
Yes it gets less slippery!
Clean leather is always a little slippery for a bit
Great vid! Just purchased this product. Still looks good and protected?
Yup! Easy to wipe down
Does the product have an expiration? I bought it 2 years ago and kept half bottle in the shade. I'm wondering if I can still use it on another car. Thanks!
How has this held up? We have had trouble with the coating turning yellow over time
I have this in the car, need to get it on my seats, thanks! Also, what are those stickers you put over the emergency door releases in front? did you buy them? I have have two people pull those thinking its how you get out 😡😡 - I did notice now it does drop the window tho and no warning comes to the screen, maybe they pushed an update.
Oh those were for the tint! Haha they have stickers out now that is a button so they know that’s where they press to open the door
The question would be if the cleaner that you used removed any of the coating. A lot of coatings like this are pretty prone to break down very quickly when you use cleaners on them.
Seems ok! Just cleaned the seats after all the dirt! Check out my Instagram.
Nah, it's an SIO2 based coating giving it protection against almost the entire pH scale: pH 2 to 11. You're not getting that off right away, even if you wanted to.
should I be applying this when the car is new?
What I would really like to see is new dark wash jeans rubbed hard against the surface. Also would like to see a control: do any of the things you tested stain untreated Tesla seats?
Agree could be better
Did you do any test on the not coated seat to compare how much it helped
Grease stains came out with some rubbing but I didn’t test it on seats with no coating. Thank you!
Gyeon was super expensive. I wear blue jeans 99% of the time. My car seats stained with light blue. I was able to get out the stains with a 10% solution of Simple Green. But, every two months, the stains come back. I've tried 2, then 3 applications of Gyeon. Worthless.
Dang sorry man. I would consider a seat cover at that point
bro gotta give him a thumbs up for sacrificing his white seats
Did you also do the test before the coating?
Tell me if you were freaking out about the rest of the stains when right off the bat you had trouble with the tire grease! LOL. I felt bad for you doing this test! Be sure to remind my fellow fans of you to avoid using any kind of cleaner that contains alcohol on the seats. It *will* damage the vegan leather if left on there too long. Cheers, Chris!
Yes I was scared haha. Yeah good point! Thanks for watching!
You are much braver than I am
Is the Gyeon Leather Shield a one-time application, or will I have to reapply every X number of months? Thank you.
I say once every year or two years depending on how you use the seats
did you put anything on the center console or on the carpet around the mats to help with easy cleanup or did you just do the seats? Was just curious if you had any suggestions for that?
Yah I coated it everything. Around the mats like the carpet?
@@EverydayChris what did you use for the carpet and on the dash? I ordered the stuff you used for the seats
Can I use this on teslas perforated seats?
Hey man of you still recommend the Gyeon or something else? Getting white seat and I have 2 kids (im nuts) thank you!
Haha yes still works! But with kids get a car seat cover!
Is there anything that will make it waterproof hydrophobic and stain proof.
The coating does a great job at all the above
How long should I wait for the coating to dry (after applying) before sitting on the seat?
30 min!
Gyeon does advise to let it seat for up to 12hours after applying this product. Just do it after your final drive for the day and let it sit overnight and it should be good.
I bought this product based on initially good reviews I read on Amazon, but after second guessing my purchase and going back to see what the negative reviews mentioned, I’m reading a lot of comments in regards to the Gyeon solution leaving streaks on white Tesla seats. Did you notice that when examining your seats in greater detail? Do you have an idea what might cause that? Have you heard about this before and do you think it’s user error or are some newer formulas of this product really causing streaks? Any input would help because I’m hesitant in applying it on my seats now.
Hmm I did it twice with no issues. Did it about 6 months ago? I got a new one for my x seats so will update
@@EverydayChris That would be great and will really appreciate that update. And congrats on two Teslas. You got some nice cars!
@@EverydayChris Hey there, Mr. Everyday sir. Just wondering if you ever did get to your update. Your fans would love to know how your seats are doing and the ceramic coating is holding up? Did you ever notice any negative effects from the ceramic coat after all this time? And is the dirt harder to get off after having applied the ceramic coat? I saw your short you made recently using the cleaner on white seats and it looked pretty effective. By the way, just heard the great news and hope you and your car will be very happy with each other.
There is method how to apply this product with minimal chance for streaking. Use accessories that are included and and don't apply product directly to seats. Work on one panel at the time. Don't use long motions to cover top to bottom in one line. Just one panel at the time with even strokes. Almost zero change of streaking.
It is very hard to fix streaks after. Probably just best to use car for 6 months and then use strong cleaner and repeat the process.
@@borkophil6948 This is good advice. The product instructions say to use moderate amount of liquid on seats. Do you think this is accurate or supposed to use light coats?
what kind of floor matts do you have?
Tesmanian! I made a video about it in my accessories video! Use my promo code for a discount! Thank you!
I'm surprised Telsa does not already have leather-shield protection on their white seats.
Good protection overall but it helps!
What makes you think they don’t? Good to know they repel stains after the coating, but we have no way to know if it helped…
How long did you let it dry/cure after the 2nd coat before using?
hello! Not long at all. Once it was dried it was cured so after I did the first layer. I came back to where I started initially to do the second. To this day everything wipes off easily. That's with 3 dogs and a 2,000 mile road trip to oregon! Thanks for watching!
3:48 I drank it and I didn’t turn into a super hero I ended up in the hospital 😢
Bruh I realized this is why I get migraines. 2 of the worst migraines of my life after these haha stay protected
How about the huge dashboard area?
Nothing for me!
I read somewhere that this will not protect against grease very well.
Works fine with tire grease!
water with a bit of dish soap or degreaser will pull grease off it like nothing.
Does it affect texture, smell, etc? Just curious.
Slightly smoother that goes away after a few weeks
Thank you so much
Got my windows tinted this week in my Model Y, I'd recognize that neon green "DON'T ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS" sticker anywhere!!
Hahaha
@@EverydayChris Here's a question I have: I used the Q2 Leathercoat spray (not to be confused with Leathershield, the product your video is about) on the plastic trim on my doors, and it's dried kind of a crusty white.
How can I remove this without damaging the plastic on the doors? (It's the panel above the white trim, the part that touches the windows).
Hmm. You can try alcohol and removing it or using 303 aerospace protectant to remove any white residue!
@@EverydayChris Thanks for the tip, I bought some 90% iso yesterday on the same suspicion that it would remove it, I'm just scared that applying alcohol like that could make it crack in the future. What would you recommend to protect that part of the trim after I get this undesirable coating off of it?
Edit: Nevermind, the 303 aerospace protectant you recommended is exactly that!
It sure does look like there is some green left. Especially on the seam.
Yeah the seam was the issue. I realized I didn’t coat the seam well.
@@EverydayChris oh that sucks. Hope you found a way to get it out. Thanks for the video!
I do what I can! Thanks for watching!!
How ur door panner is white???
Older door panels are like this. The new model 3 is different
Those are not "sweet warning labels" those are pictograms according to GHS - Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Policy of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). SO if has this is probably a good company.
Or, in other words, sweet warning labels.
The Gyeon leathershield still doesnt protect against dye transfer. I paid $60 for this product just to have permanent blue marks on my seats
So if there’s transfer it transfers onto the coating. Get a magic eraser and scrub away.
@@EverydayChris I will try and let you know if it works
@@raafidk How did it turn out cleaning the dye marks on your seats? Did the coating make it easy to remove?
@@AdamSmith-fe9jf Nothing worked whatsover. I have no idea what the blue substance is it even got on my dash and headliner slightly and doesnt come off anywhere. I tried magic eraser to remove the coating but nothing worked. I recently just installed red leather seat covers
Darn. A lot of times the dye fades over time with wear.
You don’t know if it really works unless you try the same tests on a non coated seat
good idea
0:20 I know some people like watered down coffee, but this is ridiculous!
Hahahaah
The food coloring did stain in the crease.
Yah I saw. It’s gone now. But make sure to protect the crease
Be careful if you guy use this product on a black leather seat . I put this thing on my new black leather seat an end up with many streaks on. I wonder did the company paid for this review.
interesting. My friend JUSt did it with black seats. NO streaks. I wonder if you got a lemon
How come the SAME products show up in almost every video regarding protecting your seats? Hmmm...
if you know of another one let me know. this one works for me
man the food coloring got stuck in the seams!
ITS GONE NOW THOUGH!
Bro, I got so much anxiety watching this
Haha
Not scientific - you should have a control section, without any coating, and compare that to the coated section. I.e - you haven't proved that the coating makes it easier to clean. So go on - ruin your car for science. 😀
Good idea thanks for the feedback
What is the matter with you man?wear some gloves,JC
Tesla interiors are so boring. White seats? Definitely not the smartest decision ever made.
To each their own.
Wong coffee ☕️ 😅
