- MY DREAM CAR IS BROKEN... ALREADY! (NOT CLICKBAIT!) So a few weeks ago now we bought our dream car... a Porsche 719 Cayman GTS... and we loved it... unfortunately my car buying luck hasn't improved and I looks like ive bought the wrong car? again!? or have I? in this video I show you guys the Porsche after sales service and see if it is worth the money? are sports cars worth the money? are Porsche's worth the money? surely what you pay for is the after sales service? let's take a look...

That took a long time to sort out... I feel for you. I bought a new (brand new) Maserati Levante S and one or two days after I collected it the sensor in the drivers door for the soft close failed - well had an intermittent fault. So the drivers window is popping open a centimetre or so (makes it easier to close a sealed car) and the interior lights are coming on and off and on and off as you drive. Maserati were great, gave me another Levante to drive (albeit a diesel which did not tick my boxes) and fixed it in a day. It's frustrating but stuff happens. People commented that I had to expect this with an Italian car but reality is that the sensor was probably made by Lucas in the Midlands or Bosch in Germany... I doubt it was Italian. Car has been solid for the last 2+ years and near 20k miles.
James, having worked for a supplier to the Automotive industry, when there is an issue ask the service department for any OEM Service Bulletins related to your problem. ( There may even be an aftermarket outlet who will, for a small fee, email you every service bulletin related to your make and model. So you can keep track of any "potential" issues. This is different from a factory recall)
A lot of times people take their vehicle in for a problem under warranty and are told --we're not aware of the issue you have. The OEM service people will run the complete diagnostics for error codes which tell them where to start looking for the problem. They should look to their own Service Bulletins put out by corporate which gets all the data of issues and they issue a service bulletin to advise what to do to correct the problem.
Also be aware, due to the global pandemic, car spare parts are becoming harder to obtain. So, now replacement parts that may have been a few days become a few weeks or worse.
you can never heard the narrator above the road noise in a cayman youtube video. maybe, when they come out with the electric versions (assuming they didn't do something about the noise beforehand) porsche will notice the noise and do something about it.

Great video mate but seeing that petrol station end of road you pulled out of brings back cold memories from my Apprentice days, driving a dumper of concrete from Barnsley to Penistone in December. Freezing it was at to stop at that garage and warm up lol I got some funny looks

A courtesy car would have definitely sweetened the blow but i think everywhere is short of stock just now.
2 year warranty that’s shithouse, in Australia most warranties are 5-7 years. my Jaguar was a 5 year warranty
PORSCHE warranty in Australia is 3 years. Most prestige brands are 3 years but with option to extend at a price.
Hate to say but you may find a trip to the repair shop a regular event. On the other hand they are spectacular!

Going by Autotrader on like for like spec and mileage, my Porsche Cayman R has gone up £10 since Lockdown 1. Even WeBuyAnyCar quotes for it have gone up £5K this past year, so yes Porsche, the right Porsche, do buck any downwards trends.
@Monday, Tuesday Is My Weekend mine is very low mileage. Furthermore, you’ll now see the Cayman R prices has risen to where they can start with a 5. Of course everything is down to what someone else is willing to pay for it and I am telling you that as a barometer of prices for R’s, WeBuyAnyCars quote has gone up £5k. Unsure what else to say. The 911 Carerra T is suddenly rising out of the blue. Some models move more than others. Just because yours didn’t doesn’t mean that is the universal rule. problem is the new Porsches that are not the higher priced ones are pretty poor cars, the 719 gts is not a great car for multiple reasons.
