- Why The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS Is THE BEST PORSCHE EVER... I've had my Porsche Cayman 718 GTS for 6 months now and have been actually driving it Daily!? I honestly think that this could be the BEST PORSCHE you can buy for your first sports car... Its not as fast as a Porsche 911, not as expensive as a Porsche 911 and not as pretty as a Porsche 911... but there's just something seriously good about the Porsche cayman... I didn't even get the Porsche Cayman 718 GTS 4.0... some people think that the 2.5 twin turbo isn't up to scratch... but in this video I explain why I think they are wrong... and it could well be the best Porsche money can buy!

Great video. Looking to get into my first Porsche, looking at the 718 GTS 2.5L, and your vid has settled doubts about going for the 4.0L which realistically is outside my budget. Real person living life accepting we only get one!!

Sports mode gives more exhaust feedback than Sports plus.

@@rscholey85 - unfortunately, James lives in the U.K. and the government have decided that no new petrol or diesel cars will be sold in the U.K. from 2035 onwards, that signals the beginning g of the end for the internal combustion engine I’m afraid. Hopefully in the next 5 years, there will be better and more affordable EV’s and the charging infrastructure to go with them. (Personally, I would prefer to have my old V10 Audi S6 back in my garage but those days are gone)
@@barryemery16that's still over 10 years away. And that's just a ban on new cars. Who knows there may be a huge demand for old petrol performance cars at that time.

Just traded in my Mustang for a 2021 Chevy Blazer RS. Gave my daily driver to my son. The Blazer is basically an overgrown Camaro. Tons of options and same engine. Enjoying it so far 🤙

Enjoyed the video, keyless start with push button is a must nowadays, nothing worse than your keys jangling and keep hitting your right knee if you have other keys attached!
well look the thing is, you are not supposed to attach anything to the key. even the owners manual tells you that. i'm not happy with that digital button pushing engine start, i mean look there's a lot of purists like us who strongly want to turn a key to start a car. especially these type of cars that have a long history and a brand like porsche who stick so well to their identity and details over time. but each to their own i guess, yeah
@@xstingrayx most other models are now push start I’m sure this will be standard when the models get a face lift. I know what you are saying but usually everyone keeps keys together it’s just how it is. It funny the talk of electric as I drive the Taycan and yes you lose the noise but the drive is still very much Porsche sports car.
@@stumorgan6921 i understand. i have only driven the 911 and boxster models and i got to say i am still not very convinced with these electric vehicles but i guess that's the train all manufacturers are hopping onto right now. voluntarily or involuntarily, I feel that's what the politics and lobbies are aiming for and want us to. Also i fully understand that these fossil fuels are doomed in the long run. so yeah, if they come up with an electric 3 door coupe on the boxster or 11 base, i'd probably give it a try. cheers and have a nice evening
@@xstingrayx you can’t beat the proper noise of a combustion engine, but if you get a chance to drive one give it a go, the drive won’t disappoint. Enjoy your evening also 👍

not being able to get a regular size golf bag in the trunk doesn’t work for me but it’s a nice car. It’s going to be either an Audi TT RS or Jaguar F type R when I finally do get a car!

Not sure when you filmed this (last one uploaded recently was filmed in summer?), but the prices on these have gone crazy in the past few months…so you may have upgraded already…something sporty and silver?!?
That’s why you get the 4.0 haha protect the trousers. But I’m almost willing to trade the 4.0 for that color option which they took off the menu while I’m configuring my build at the moment. And no I’m not paying $11000 extra for custom color that was offered not too long ago. And thanks for saving me a trip to the dealer to see if my golf bag would fit in the rear with the driver and 3 wood left out. 👍

I just don't get it.. talking about economy figures when you spending huge chunks of moolah on a car. If you going to buy a status car it shouldn't matter what the mpg is. Feed it chopped up polar bears if that's what it needs.

My only gripe about your lovely Blue Cayman GTS is that Subaru sounding engine. Why didn’t you look for a 981 with that glorious sounding engine?
Cuz it's slow, and an older car. This chassis is an entirely different ones. And please get to listen to a real one it sounds nth like a Subaru smh. It's been 3 years in the market. How could someone have still not met a real car in street?
@@lolowong439 I was thinking about upgrading my stage 3 fully built motor Audi S3 to a Cayman 4.0 and realized I was making the worst mistake.
If I were to upgrade it would be to a Cayman 2.5 just for the ability to mod it out. I don't have crazy 6 figure money to spend but if I did I would spend it on a Taycan or 911 lol.

Enjoy ur videos James, but I can’t see a Porsche without seeing a midlife crisis driving it! U also constantly seem to be justifying buying it, when it doesn’t seem great or look great. Leave the car stuff to the experts mate🙏
