It took this man the first 5 minutes to understand the basic message Snyder was conveying about modern age Superheroes than it takes most haters to even comprehend. Some are still in denial even. Great reaction, you understood all of it man I'm impressed. And you can never go too deep with Snyder, you gotta go deeper than you think.

I was thinking the same thing. How quickly this reviewer understood what was happening. I watched this with my cousin in theatre and he is an MCU fan who hates everything DC. He asked a million questions during the movie and I answered none.
It should have been death of robin not parents death scene at beginning.

Playing Devil's Advocate for phase 1. The early Marvel movies had a bit of seriousness and realism. An arms dealer that takes accountability for his actions/creations. An bio-military weapon that goes rogue. And a man that thinks he's a god is not believed and is briefly put in a nut house.

That's the thing about Batman, the people who don't know him underestimate him. He always proves them wrong. Possibly the most dangerous human on earth.
3 hrs of sitting down watching The Ultimate Edition of BVS, is the perfect warm up for 4 hrs of Zack Snyder's Justice League, but trust me, it's so engaging that the time spent watching it will fly by, you'll also be filled in on the characters Bruce and Diana were introduced to on Lex's file, although I think perhaps you should watch Wonder Woman before Zack's Justice League, the start of Wonder Woman actually syncs with the end of BVS, and it'll be a good opportunity to see her origin story

Whatever you do, do NOT watch the theatrical cut. WB forced Zack to trim the film to 2 hours (the "2-hour mandate" as nobody calls it) and sadly most of it was the investigative stuff from Clark You know, the backstory, the plot. It was a mess and they screwed up Suicide Squad (1) in a similar manner. And don't get me started on the theatrical cut of Josstice League. @@justUzzy
The Ascension of Batman with the bats is an image from the comics, it's just symbolism which Zack injects in all the films, not to be taken literally.
As you say, the whole showdown with the terrorists near the beginning is a setup by Lex Luthor to frame Superman as a killer - just like the court case which leads to the capitol building explosion, and the Bat-branding and then the photos sent to Clark at the Daily Planet are from Lex to frame Batman so that they ultimately have their battle.
It's basically the comics of The Dark Knight Returns and The Death of Superman - but turned on their head so that one is a consequence of the other. It's actually quite clever but it went over everyone's heads and was due in large part to removing 30 mins from the theatrical cut so nobody understood what was going on. Well done WB!! Bang up job you did there.
The unhinged Batman due to Joker killing Robin, was amazing and a version we had not seen, people clearly were not ready for it, but Zack went for the more edgy realism i.e. if these heroes were in our time how would people perceive them - Gods among men - threats to humanity.
So there is this post-911 social commentary narrative running through the film which I think makes it very relevant to our times.
The Knightmare sequence is foretelling a future event, the Omega symbol symbolises Darkseid is coming and the Darkseid War, the bats in that sequence are Parademons that are servants of Darkseid. Superman is after Batman in this scene because Batman is responsible for Lois Lane's death. The Flash appears telling Batman he has to find them, that "she is the key" - in other words "Lois" is the key.
The Batman killing rule is literally in the comics, he killed the Joker - so it was quite funny everyone having a meltdown over it - as I say people weren't ready for it.
Jesse Eisenberg's Lex did divide people but really it was a creative choice to not make him the usual cookie cutter Lex Luthor from the comics and what had been done before. It was essentially a no-win because if they went for something closer to Gene Hackman that would have received criticism too. I think the Lex Luthor in this film is how Lex Luthor would be if he were in our time.
The Martha scene divided people but as we can see it means Superman is seen as human in Batman's eyes, but also "save" is equally important because in that moment Clark was admitting his defeat. He did not care if he died or not, he just wanted to save her. That effectively snapped Batman out of his trance. He saw the light.
Also wanted to add in the metahuman videos, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, then Cyborg you can see that mythical box that creates Cyborg, that is a "Mother Box" which is one of three which together are a world building machine. They feature at the end of this film as well where you have a image of a god, Steppenwolf (servant of Darkseid) posing with the three boxes with Lex in the lair after summoning Doomsday. This is all set up for Zack Snyder's Justice League.
And can we all appreciate the warehouse scene which is not just the best, most faithful Batman action scene put to film but the best, most faithful superhero scene put to film😀

@@onechi I may have made some mistakes but I know there's one thing that needs adding to. Lex Luthor is like that in the comics, but it was from comic "Superman: Birthright" and I think people missed that. You can Google that and see for yourself. It amazes me everyone still moans about his portrayal even now. 🙄 I get it wasn't to everyone's taste but knowing Zack there are literally reciepts... Just shows when it comes to comic adaptations he knows his stuff. His one sin is he doesn't make superhero films for normies and because he is a visual director he requires you to pay attention to everything on screen, which some people sadly are not willing to do.

You can go straight into Zack Snyder’s Justice League now if you want. All the surrounding movies are by other directors, though Wonder Woman (and the original Suicide Squad) stand out as “optional homework” before it.
Basically Marvel built the Avengers with a bunch of solo movies and a team up; Snyder’s plan was to start with Superman, grow the team, and then let the movie franchises bud off from there. It might have worked; we’ll never really know.

Wow, the first to get the Martha scene, it made Bruce see Superman as human for the first time. 👏 you called that out quick, noone else Ive seen react got that scene at all
Regardless as seeing him as human which btw is as deep as a ditch, he set up using the name martha throughout the film, also batman already said in the fight that you probably have parents that told you you were special, so that debunks that, he had a supposed hatred for the thought that he could turn on humanity, and him thinking because he knew he had a mom which everyone has is a weak way to stop him. Also superman not starting from the begining saying he has my mom is dumb as fuck, it would have been ok of sorts if instead of saying the name martha which noone on earth has ever done wjile talking about their mom, he could say kill me but please save my mom, would have done a much better job at showing bruce his sacrifices side

I don’t know if you read any comments about the movie before watching it but if you didn’t you are the perfect example in video that proves that haters are just stupid I mean if you got it that fast it says everything, I mean I did it the first time even with the theatrical version almost everyone did it but the UC gives you extra information to fully understand the events in the desert, and the Martha scene it actually was that deep but it should not be that hard to get but some people don’t see the psychology in it. Loved your reaction, the next one is Suicide Squad 2016 you need to know this movie has a Directors cut which we are still waiting to watch since the theatrical version was edited by the studio changing tone etc, I hope one day we will get to watch it, for the director, actors, crew, artistic freedom and fans #ReleaseTheAyerCut 🙏 but for now that’s the version we have, I find it enjoyable. The next one is Wonder Woman 2017 and then Zack Snyders Justice League. And right there sadly the DC universe ends or at least the SnyderVerse. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse ✨

Oh, when it changes to the 4:3 aspect ratio, it's because those were shot in IMAX. And even though Zack Snyder's Justice League wasn't shot using IMAX, the whole movie is on that aspect ratio. To give this sense of bigger format epic comic book and lareger than life characters.

It will never cease to amaze me that UA-cam reactors who go into this film blind and without expectations are able to not only thoroughly enjoy it, but pick up on all the themes and message within the movie without fail. Yet at the time of release, comic-book fans had their torches lit and pitchforks out on day one really. There seemed to be no attempt to understand the film, just complaints that it wasn't exactly like "Worlds Finest" or other previous incarnations of the characters even though the creative team of Snyder, Goyer, and Nolan all said multiple times they were going their own way and telling their own story with these characters.
People cried and continue to cry up and down that Snyder: "Doesn't understand" Batman or Superman. I say he understands them perfectly but he also understands this modern world as well. He knows that if Batman, a guy who goes around beating up people, brutalizing them, and acting with no oversight, and Superman, an alien being who while saving the world causes a great deal of damage, existed today they would be extremely controversial figures. Their methods would be questioned. Their existence would cause all kinds of trouble, and all the at scrutiny would get to them. Clark, a guy who just wants to help, would become sullen and want to give up because it seems like he's doing more harm than good. Bruce, who has been at this for 20 years, would say "F*ck it. Nothing I did mattered" and become this angry, brutal being.
The whole point was to watch these titans that we know, go through the same darkness we all face within us, and come out better as a result of those struggles. Superman sacrifices himself and solidifies his purpose to the world, inspiring Batman to snap out of his rage and become guided by hope and faith. Wonder Woman is brought out of her apathy and joins Bruce to defend the world from what's to come.
It's great film and it's tragic that when it came people only seemed to want rehashed versions of the characters they've already seen a dozen times already.
You were also spot on with the "Martha" moment. It's when Bruce finally sees that Clark isn't a dangerous alien, but a terrified boy who wants to save his mother the way Bruce wishes that he could every single night.
Perfectly said. 👏🏼 It's a lot more easier to focus and take it all in when watching it in your own time. I defo wouldn't have taken it all in if I had watched it in the cinema back then.

I was legitimately a BvS hater until I watched Twin Perfect's amazing 3 part analysis videos on BvS and I realized how unique and bold this film was!
I feel like it's defo one of those movies you gotta watch at least two or three times before knowing how you feel

There's also a prequel to Wonder Woman's story in Wonder Woman (2017, dir. Patty Jenkins). There's also a story of Suicide Squad (2016, dir. David Ayer), after BVS and before Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Just found out recently Jay Oliva had stated on twitter zacks plan was going to be 5 movies in the form of chapters so it was 1)MoS , 2) BvS, 3)Justice league unfortunately we never got his final 2 visions but if i had to take a gues it would have been 1 of these 2. Chapter 4)MoS 2, chapter 5) Justice league pt 2 or...note* zack snyder has stated very recently the only movie he would go back to wb to direct would be Frank Millers the dark knight returns* so in following with my second guess it would have been chapter 4)Justice league pt 2, chapter 5) The dark knight returns.

The next one is. ZACK SNYDER JUSTICE LEAGUE.
This movie is not that bad but it is not a masterpiece, it have great visuals, actions , background score and is worth watch . But movie have a lot of flow. I had a lot of questions after watching this movie 5 times :
1) In the Desert scene Luthor 's men shoot those terrorists then burnt them , why doesn't the government find any bullets from their body. So it will prove Luthor is behind that. There is no need to Lois Lane to find it.
2) When Bruce Wayne's building collapses during Superman vs Zod fight why is his worker waiting for Bruce to tell him to leave , any human being in that condition won't wait for his boss orders they will leave immediately for their own safety . That scene looked like the writers wanted a reason for Batman to hate Superman.
3) In comics Superman is a character who believes there is good in a bad guy he will help them to reform but in this movie he just threatens Batman after Batman killed those thugs in the car chase , why doesn't he handover Batman to police custody even after he killed those people.
4) Lex Luthor makes a pendrive having information about other meta humans who are unknown to the world then how can he make their symbols. Even if Cyborg doesn't become a superhero at that time, that symbol is used by him as his official symbol later in ZSJL . This symbol issue is same for Wonder Woman , Flash , Aquaman.
5) Before Batman attempted to kill Superman with the spear he said that Superman's parents taught him something so Batman knows Superman has parents , so why is he shocked by hearing Superman have a mother he knows that already right ? Why did Superman say Martha , why doesn't he say Please save my mom?
6) Batman directly attacks kidnappers by showing his presence , but if it were a real world scenario Kidnappers would have killed Martha , why don't Batman take them down in Ninja style isn't that good for Martha?
7) If Wonder Woman was present all these years why doesn't she help when Zod and his army attack Earth , why does she choose to help Superman and Batman to fight doomsday after all these years she stays away from Humanity ?
8) Why didn't Batman suspect when Luthor tried to manipulate him , Batman is one of the cleverest men in the DC universe right ?
9) Batman said to Alfred about Superman " If there is one percent chance he is our enemy , we have to destroy him". But Batman doesn't work on the chances in comics he works on actual evidence .Even If he think Superman is evil by his guts he will make a plan and execute it when he gets actual evidence.
10) The Robin costume shown in the movie is Dick Graysons but in any comics it is Jason Todd who died and becomes Red Hood.

No actually that was one of the versions of Doomsday. In the comics there are several incarnations of Doomsday and also in the comics the death of Superman was at the hands of Doomsday which is depicted in this film. So do your research before confusing people with miss information

Seriously underrated, and unfairly criticised film, as per usual Warner Bros interference and ongoing incompetence had the theatrical version edited.
A brilliant movie, and well cast except for the actor playing Lex, badly cast in my opinion.
Extremely disappointing that we dont see Zack Snyder's full vision come to fruition and now we have some kind of unnecessary reboot by the likes of Gunn.
You'll definitely enjoy Zack Snyder's Justice League, dont even bother with the butchered Marvel-ish theatrical version.

The controversy if someone wants to use the word in this case is …. You understood it quickly, the movie is set in a realistic-ish world that’s cynical with multiple individuals vying to take or keep control… it’s not set in a world where you automatically suspend the sense of reality, world problems and shady politics.. in fact shady politics is the blood of the Gotham environment & backdrop.

For those who complain about Lex . In this movie that is not the older Lex Luthor it’s actually his son, that is why he calls himself Lex Junior. And yes that is comic book accurate and that is why he acts different than the old Lex everybody remembers from 1978 Superman movie. It also explains why this Lex is more unhinged

The DCEU became pick your poison after BvS. For the campy stuff that's Justice League WW84 Shazam. Zack only did Zack Snyder's Justice League after this. I recommend Suicide Squad by David Ayer before that, but it isn't really necessary. The rest outside of Black Adam lean heavily on the campier themes and get away from Zack's levels of intrigue

After 20 years of crime fighting, seeing losing good guy Alfred and impacted by the event of Black Zero deeply impacted Bruce Wayne who still has PTSD.
@Tippotipo So he isn't Batman then. The whole basis of the character is the fact that he has integrity, strength of will, and one of the greatest minds on the planet. His pain haunts him, he punishes and blames himself, but his resolve doesn't move. That's the whole point of the character. That's why even gods, like Darkseid, respect him. Affleck's Batman plays more like an elseworlds version. If the character was written better, Affleck could have really shined. Instead, he was left committing to a Batman no one would follow and would leave people doubting if he could really be trusted
Batman here is bad@ss! Totally wicked. Shame the new batman sucks. He should have stayed a vampire. Suits the actor better. Really Lame.
I refuse to ever submit to this moving being shit. I think it’s a misunderstood masterpiece. Don’t understand all the hate people have for Zack and his work. He takes things seriously, and is sincere, and he also has one of the most interesting eyes for visuals. So this pairing was a match made in heaven for me. I am SO happy to see when smart people get it.
