Not only Injustice isn't the only comic that includes a conflict between Batman and Superman, it isn't the source material for this movie. It's clearly Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, not only for the fight itself, but also the whole Batman character in this movie, along with many visual details and inspirations, including the armor suit.

    Masterpiece 🔥.
The movie is perfect, the continuity too, I understand at certain point some critics but come on the movie explain its self and it is what it is, if you don’t like certain things that’s cool but that opinion doesn’t make it bad. She cried, she didn’t need 10 movies to feel something or to understand or empathize with him or his dead as many didn’t and still don’t need it to, including my self, I will never get the rushed comments, the new characters were perfectly introduced BvS was the perfect movie to open the universe, if we would have had MoS 2 what would have you gotten from there? Superman isn’t that complex, as a character the only thing they could have had played with could have been him not killing again, MoS presents you Superman and all what he is. MoS 2 could have been epic but that’s all, a lot action and that’s it, eventually new characters would have been added and for the character it would have been hard to grow in that kind of story, but with BvS you have him struggling with public opinion, his meaning as Superman, and at the end giving his live for that people that even questioned and hated him, it is poetic. And the fact they made the story too comic accurate is just perfect. Then you have ZSJL the perfect continuation for his story, the world still mourning his dead, needing him, and superman being inspiration for many due his sacrifice, it was well planned, at the end it was an arc with a lot of spin offs but then WB panic. Just because marvel did it in a certain way it doesn’t mean thats the way or perfect formula to build up universes. I’d love to see the public opinion play a role again like it did in MoS and BvS in a JL 2 now that he is back or even in MOS 2 and I think now that BvS and ZSJL happened that’s the perfect time to explore and play with his character, now he has a second chance, can have a wedding, lois is pregnant he is probably more confident etc etc, now his character can actually evolve due to his return from his death as Snyder planned but for that #RestoreTheSnyderVerse !

THIS! People have been almost tricked into thinking everything has to be done like the MCU. The studio may have forced them in a direction they wouldn't have done so soon but my god what an amazing movie they made with it!

I agree with your analysis again. They really ruined the rest of the franchise trying to rush it. I hate the fact that they also got rid of Ben Afleck and Henry Cavill. They should restart the whole thing but there's a lot of good ideas and time wasted. Studio excutives have never learnt, no wonder there was a strike. Good video as always!

In the DC universe, there are dark beings that are made of pure negative energy - violence or evil or greed. Doomsday and Darkseid are among them. There is no such thing as redemption for them. People seem to always want a multidimensional character, someone relatable even when they are villains but they don't understand not all villains in the universe could be like that.

I think it would have been more interesting to see what your mom thought about the movie first before explaining her everything that happened with the movie and your own opinion to get her honest reaction to it on what she liked, what she didn't, what she understood, etc.
    Still, good reaction!
For me, this one has become my favourite out of the three Snyder movies. It takes risks, it has layers, all the main characters have an arch, the action sequences are great, the score, the visual storytelling and the metaphores. The whole thing feels more than just another superhero movie. Even with the theatrical cut I didn't get people having such issues with it, so even less with the UE, or people saying it is edgy. You need to take your characters, your heroes, to a darker place in order to show how they will come out of it and inspire us. To have hope that things can be better. "Men are still good".
Refreshing after having the same copy-paste formula in so many of the Marvel (and now DC) projects.
Also, if we didn't need a movie for each Guardian of the Galaxy or each hero in Watchmen, we didn't necessarily need them to get to a Justice League movie. There are different ways to tell a story.

  • @tonysoto8949

Zacks idea along with Chris Tereo, and David Goyer had plans to make several movies before tackling Justice League, however the studio made the decision that they wanted a movie that would launch the Justice League immediately so they could catch up to the MCU. So they did the best job they could under those terms and conditions

I disagree on it not working because it was rushed and the characters needed solo movies first. X-Men, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars didn't need solos first. Yes the MCU did a great job starting their franchise but those 3 franchises prove it doesn't have to be that way.
Superman dying so soon isn't too early either. Again LOTR and SW. Obi-Wan and Gandalf die in the first movie. Is that too soon? It makes sense to not do it too soon if they are never coming back but they are.
Hell, Nolan's Batman retires once in the 2nd one and then stops for good in the 3rd.
I also think Batman and Superman fighting each other from the point of not really knowing or understanding each other and fueled by Lex's schemes makes much more sense than them doing it later on in life.
It's a shame this movie was so judged on how people think it should have been and not simply on its own merits.

These are characters who have been around for almost a 100 years, someone like Iron Man, Ant-Man, Black Widow were c-list characters at best in the Marvel comic universe, that's why it was necessary to give those characters solo movies. Basically what I'm saying is, Justice League characters for the most part didn't all need solo movies for people to understand who they are, or what's going on.

He's a Marc Zuckerberg/Jeff Bezos/Elon Musk/Bill Gates type villain. Not imposing, not charming, but awkward, but also has so much money that playing God is his ultimate goal.
He is also the son of Lex Luthor, not the standard Lex.
I get the hesitancy, but I thought it was an interesting twist of Lex. It was more true to the our reality and how these billionaires act. Too smart and rich for their own good, and lost perspective on how to interact act with us peasants.

There are so, so many things wrong with this movie...
The Ultimate Edition fixes a few things that were more or less completely nonsensical in the theatrical cut, but it's still a bad movie.
There are too many things to bring up in a comment section, and there are a lot of videos and whole essays out there that detail exactly what went wrong.
    My favourites, though:
Superman takes Batman being "Judge, Jury, Executioner" at face value, and doesn't look into it, in either edition - even though the guy in the photos was still very much alive and sent to prison. (Side note: Why would a Bat-brand be a death sentence in prison? Wouldn't it be the exact opposite?)
Batman blames Superman for blowing up Congress, even though it's reported that it was a bomb that did it, and Batman identified Wallace Keefe being there, for no apparent reason, with a new weelchair, a new suit, and after all the Wayne Enterprises cheques to the guy had been returned with messages on them.
These things, of course, need to happen in order for there to be a fight. Meaning that the investigative reporter/godlike superhero and the "world's greatest detective" both need to pretty much completely lose their investigative abilities for a while.
Lois throws the staff in the water. Batman says that he needs it, nowhere near Lois, and Lois goes in the water to get it - even though she just threw it in.
The "if we believe there's even a one percent chance that he is our enemy we have to take it as an *_ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY_* " line gets completely wiped out by "It's his mother's name!"
Jesse Eisenberg seems to be playing Joker rather than Lex Luthor, except Joker's plans tend to actually have some kind of logic to them; however twisted it may be.
Superman manages to get from the Fortress of Solitude to Metropolis in about 5-6 seconds and save Lois because he can hear her being in trouble, yet he can't hear his mom while she's kidnapped and he's in the same city; or zip around the city to look for her.
Heh. This post got a bit longer than intended. Oh well. 🙂
The really sad part is that this post doesn't even scratch the surface of how dumb this movie is...

    • @changsangma1915
      @changsangma1915 7 місяців тому +2

Yeeah, let me shed some insight.. This whole tirade began from the fact when Man of Steel happened the world got a taste of what impending Doom is from an invasion attack by powerful humanoids from another world. Something the likes of Batman never faced. He never saw who started it, to his eyes superman fighting his own kind destroying the city in process made superman an equal possible threat. Hence the hate on metahumans along with the citizens.
Clark Kent have been hearing about the Batman vigilante thing during his early years & have wanted to be in a news reporting firm to keep track of this elusive human ("keep my ears to the ground") who equally scares the scums & the citizens, also making him a nuisance to Clark's perspective.
Superman taking Batman at face value is equally your misplaced judgement/narrative....Clark isn't known as a detective to "look into it", not even in comics. Like mentioned, his perspective here is Batman is causing enough nuisance being just a human in costume making his own judgement call & getting in the way of police...no wonder why police searches for Batman too.
Batman may be the greatest detective, he's still a Human & has a load of stuff going besides knuckle busting in a costume. What makes you even think Batman got the early menu to see something going on with Lex & that cripple guy while being in the office the day Lex approach the cripple to plot the plan of blowing the Congress vis a vis Superman evil/bad narrative ploy to get Batman go after him ??
Lex writing some red markers on paper or erratic talking...doesn't make him a Joker unless Ledger is still what you consider a standard measure of Joker acting LoL.
Oh & the Martha thing, sure it was shoehorned in but it was another crux of the story to show Batman is again a Human who for a moment forgot in his rage against a metahuman who also has a step mother that raised him like a human with values. Batman was about to become the monster by killing Clark who he thinks is the one.
Obviously the only problem people have is that it says Batman v Superman, but turns out they end up teaming with Wonder Woman cameo to defeat a poorly designed knockoff Doomsday by Lex (canon story suggest real Doomsday was created in Krypton, hence the scout ship warning Lex to bring life to a deformity).

    • @The-Batman
      @The-Batman 6 місяців тому +3

I've watched a lot of these videos saying exactly what went wrong. They tend to just sound like they are picking and missing stuff. There are just as many videos doing the opposite.
You say he doesn't look into the "Judge, Jury, Executioner". Look into what exactly? They get marked and then murdered in prison. The way to stop this is to stop Batman from torturing the criminals. Not start a murder case in a prison he has zero access to.
The Senate was blown up because Superman was there, at no point does anyone say he blew it up. He was also unable to stop it on purpose.
Bruce sees Wallace is there and starts to dig into his situation, which is why he has the cheques in front of him. Wallace states why he is there on camera.
Lois, at the docks, gets rid of the spear for obvious reasons. Then AFTER Doomsday is released she realizes it might be needed so she goes to reclaim it, at the docks.
Batman needs the spear and is presuming it is where he left it, at the docks.
The ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY line is based on where Bruce was mentally at that time. He believed that. Granted it may have been him trying to rationalize his fear of Superman through it. Blinded by his rage, Superman is a possible unstoppable alien threat to the world.
Superman triggers Batman's PTSD and he sees himself as a would-be killer towering over a helpless individual who has parents just like he did. He has become what he has despised for 20+ years.
I think Lex Luthor's plan in this movie is one of the best thought plans and with back contingency plans. I'd be curious to hear what doesn't work on it.
Superman is on the mountaintop when Martha is kidnapped.
We don't know where Superman is when Lois is pushed.
If you don't like the movie that's obviously fine but why attempt to tear it apart if you can't even get objective factual information correct?

I will add that with this Batman over 20 years of activity, he has tons of rouges that have come and gone that have pulled the very angle he is commenting on, on top of Joker's antics, all of which is obviously summed up by the Robin costume and his absolute certainty comment.
This is very much how Batman behaves with history before meeting Superman in anything, which is why I love this film.
It is the best introduction between these two characters, and with the Wonder Woman bonus, which is awesome.
All the while Darkseid is hovering around the aether, which had me really excited.@@The-Batman

      To Address your nitpicks.
Superman takes life at face value. That's the point. He is a new superhero, naive and not jaded. Every iteration of Superman does things like this, which is why Lex gets the better of him so much in comics.
Batman blames Superman for Congress because he is blind by rage and believes what he wants to believe. It just confirmed his bias. It's the same reason he doesn't even listen to Superman when he approaches him about Lex. He is beyond reason. The second point is, and it's what the movie spent time doing is, the media is manipulating people into believing a narrative. If you listen to the news after the bombing, they insinuate that Superman may have been involved. Batman is not himself anymore, so he is motivated by rage, not logic.
Lois throws the spear, but sees what is fighting Superman and deduces that the spear may be needed. Batman had the same thought. It only showed Lois's intelligence. She didn't hear Bruce. Such a ridiculous nitpick.
Batman has PTSD. Words can trigger people that are damaged like that. Listen to any solider back from war and hear them talk about it. Their behavior can switch just from trigger words.
Look up "the one percent doctrine" The Bush administration formed this as policy to act against terrorists in the middle east. They felt, even if there was a one percent chance terrorists were building bombs, then they have to act." In the movie, it's a play on this idea.
Jesse wasn't playing the Joker, he was playing a Marc Zukerberg/Bill Gates type. Go listen to those men speak. It's like they are autistic and don't know how to act in public, because they are so rich and out of touch, but they also desire the power to control people. lex acts different in the beginning than he does at the end, which shows the audience it's an act. His plan makes perfect sense. Joker's doesn't make plans.
Superman wasn't at the fortress, he was just up north. The fortress is the ship from Man of Steel. Also, he was there during the day. When he saves Lois it was at night, which indicates that time passed.
I mean, just say " I hate this movie and I nitpick it because of it." It's ok if you didn't like the movie. It's ok to not like casting choices, or character motivations, or the story. Everyone has their taste. But, you reasons are nitpicks that only tell me that you are finding things to hate in order to justify why you don't like it.
