Pfft the practical suit didn’t look right to me. Because the way the body was built, the way the arms were too stubby, the glow is what makes it awesome, and many more reasons. I get we all have opinions though so yeah.

I wish they kept the season 4 suit for at least a season longer I absolutely loved that suit it kept the show different from the comics slightly with the lighter red from the show but darker from comics and the golden parts of the suit looked very clean and personally I really liked the leather jacket kinda looking suits

The only changes I’d make to current suit is to add the gold boots and smooth out the symbol to be a bit more like the one in the newspaper (so just removing the golden trim) but overall it’s fantastic I also forgot how incredible the S4 suit is
I don’t like the spandex texture they went with, my favorite was the hard shell leather cowl they had like in season 4, they should’ve just kept that one while added gold boots and even could’ve made the suit brighter like in season 6-7

I know savitar was using the speed force as a jumping in and off point, but in my opinion savitars first appearance was the closest we got to moving at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second) especially compared to snyders 2021 flash. Keeping in mind that it takes a second for light to travel the earth 7 times, now just confine the space to ONLY central city not to mention ciscos (carlos valdes) line “that’s impossible, it’s saying that he’s in multiple locations all at once”
I've always loved The Flash since when I was a kid and always knew that he always had an open jaw in his cowl but the CW's chin strap has grown on me and I love it.
The only thing they got right with the S2 suit is that the suit got the white background on the emblem. The S6-S8 suit looks so amazing. The suit finally got the gold boots in Season 8.
Not gonna lie, I don't hate the season 5 suit. Yeah, the head piece looks like a helmet, but I like the simplicity and the aim they had of homaging the pre New 52 suit. Season 6 and 4 suits are definitely better though.
Something people seem to forget about the season 1 suit is that it was (at least partially) designed by Eobard Thawne. Meaning that the season 1 suit is a Flash suit designed by Reverse Flash. The suits used until season 5 are all designed from this inital suit With that in mind, the season 5 suit really becomes more of a rebrand suit-wise, stepping away from Thawne's influence with more colour and eventually ending up with the season 8 & 9 suit with the yellow boots, the full comic-accurate look (which I'd argue would knock every suit on this list down a spot)
I'd actually put the season 1 suit on my number 3 spot. Not because really that comic accurate (compared to later versions at least) but for what it was supposed to be (a beginner Flash suit, showing snipbits of what the hero will one day be) it did an amazing job. Also unpopular opinion: the red emblem looks alot better on the dark crimson than the white does. Especially since back in season 1 they didn't seem to artificially darken the suit (looking at you season 3).
I miss the flash having a darker tone like arrow like now something like zoom killing Barry's dad or savitar killing iris infront if him would never be allowed the show is too chiled freindly now
We see that the OG Future Flash suit is different in the newspaper and in the actual scenes he's in, in season 1. I think that the suit in the newspaper may have been one of OG Future Barry's first suits and Iris of his timeline got a picture of it, similar to season 6 when Iris had a picture of our Barry's current suit. The suit he wears at "that night" may be a recent suit obtained from Star Labs maybe.
The change in Savitar's suit from CGI to practical was understandable though. Not only did the CGI version represent the fact that Savitar was still partially in the speed force it also would cost a lot more to keep animating a CGI suit. So practical definitely was the way to go.

Although I'm not a really a fan of the leathery look I do like the kinda dark, tinted colors. Call me edgy but bright, vibrant colors just don't appeal to me when I'm trying to take a character seriously. It's just me personally but brighter colors just give off a more "cartoonish" tone which is why I'm okay with not much yellow and more of a gold color
The reason I love the Season 4 suit and put it over the Season 6 suit is because it mirrored the Reverse Flash suit better than any other was able to. In the comics Thawne just takes Barry's suit and color swaps it. When Barry was wearing that Season 4 suit I can see exactly that. It felt like a little nod to the comics to me. Still like the new suit either way just nitpicking
Season 1 suit was supposed to be muted/lacking white and gold because it was meant to leave room for the evolution of the hero and in the canon reason was because it was a recycled fire-fighter tech suit
Speaking of suits, you know who could really use a new suit? Reverse Flash. Not only he got called out for having the same speed but he should've been called out for having the same suit as always too. I remember that some concept art was released some time ago of Tom Cavanagh on an updated version of the Reverse Flash suit. One closer to the New 52 suit that Eobard used for a while. Not necessarily want that one, but he could use a redesign.
I really liked the leathery look of the fourth suit, but the 6th suit looks awesome. I think though that both could maybe improved by taking the lightning ears from the fifth suit. As bad as the head piece is, the ear bits I think look really good. Very solid, like a coin.

In my opinion, the season 4 suit is the best. Even compared to the season 6 suit. I know Season 6’s suit is more comic accurate or whatever, but it looks silly when it’s actually being worn in live action and not on a comic panel. It looks like red and gold pajamas really. I really do prefer the leather design of the first 4 seasons. And like the Season 4 suit looks like the ultimate evolution of all the previous leathery suits. In my opinion all they should’ve done is kept the season 4 suit and just brightened the red a bit, and made the boots gold and it would’ve been a perfect suit that they could’ve kept for the rest of the show.
Honestly wish they kept that sort of leather smooth hardehell suit like in the future flash news article, the flat lightning bolt with the white emblem and no gold border coupled with the sort of bright red in season 7 and with gold boots and gold streaks on the suit would make an amazing comic accurate suit. Edit: wish they messed with the reverse flash suit and give him some upgrades, one thing I want to see is in injustice 2 the reverse flash has these metal shoulder pads and metal plates somewhere around his suit, it would be nice if Barry had the suit I mentioned above this edit with those corresponding metal shoulder pads and silver/gold streaks around the suit so that their suits mirrored each other and didn’t look completely different. It was just really weird seeing Barry having the only spandexy onsie suit while every other character wears leather
2:25 I even think that when Oliver said "Oh, Barry, what have you done this time" was in comment to the suit, or maybe the freaky friday situation, but it's fun to think about it like that
I agree with most the rankings and also he noticed all of the small details that no-one else notices that I do notice mainly the first to suits he talked about But I also with for the season 6 suit they made the head piece more similar like the first 4 seasons
I love the current season's suit, it shows the clear learning curve the people working on the show have been on. It is not only comic accurate, but unique in it's class, arguably I'd say such a look it's hard to pull off without making it look out of touch in "real life", not even Marvel Movies have such a suit (and although I am aware their art direction is veeery different, I surely appreciate having that uniqueness here). I can't wait for those golden boots. (ahem and hopefully a better story direction hehe)

I have a theory that I saw someone have a few years ago but if you didn’t already see it then…. When thawne goes to kill Nora Allen, you see the flash leave and a portal open up, then thawnes powers stop working after. This is because when Barry leaves nobody else has a connection to the speed force, and the negative speed force doesn’t have a power source.
Something that they added to the suit for season six that was very understated at the time of release that I really love is the ear pieces. They are very comic accurate and look amazing.

The season 5 suit is laughable. Season 4 is the best suit over all Second best is season 6-7 Season 1 suit I really liked I did not care about the season 2-3 suits at all.
Season 4 suit is my favorite. I think it looks best on live action. I do really like the current suit, but it needs more detail work to take my number one spot. The ear wings need to to be a bit larger and angled straight back. The chest logo needs to be bigger. The dumb open lightning things on the arms need to be replaced with solid lightning that loops all the way around, like the belt. And for the boots, either the lightning points need to go all the way around and meet in the back, or they just need to be solid yellow already, with smaller wings on the top of the cuff.
seriously, why is it such a bad idea for the flash to wear a helmet?. I always thought it would look pretty cool if it was made of a resistant material and not just rubber (which doesn't make fucking sense because a speedster's head should be protected) but with an aesthetic close to the flash mask of the new 52, bright red with gold ray details, and I don't think it would look bad if it was accompanied by a spandex flash suit with a contemporary comic book esthetic. and i know it didn't look good in ezra's flash, but that was because the actor's face wasn't the right one for any flash suit at all, plus he was accompanied by that horrible armor.

I think it would've been perfect if they just put the yellow lines and the brighter red from the season 4 or 6 suit onto the season 2 suit bc I like the cowl better in the season 2 suit also I like the mix of leather and cloth on the season 2 suit. Season 4 suit is to baggy and comparing the season 6 suit to s2 suit Grant looks fatter in s6 suit. (My Opinion and I respect yours) :)

Season 4 suit is my fav for sure. It has the most detail and the perfect balance of brightness between the before and after suits for me.

Season 4 suit has been my favourite since it appeared in season 3
Although I'm not a really a fan of the leathery look I do like the kinda dark, tinted colors. Call me edgy but bright, vibrant colors just don't appeal to me when I'm trying to take a character seriously. It's just me personally but brighter colors just give off a more "cartoonish" tone which is why I'm okay with not much yellow and more of a gold color

The reason I love the Season 4 suit and put it over the Season 6 suit is because it mirrored the Reverse Flash suit better than any other was able to. In the comics Thawne just takes Barry's suit and color swaps it. When Barry was wearing that Season 4 suit I can see exactly that. It felt like a little nod to the comics to me. Still like the new suit either way just nitpicking

Not only he got called out for having the same speed but he should've been called out for having the same suit as always too. I remember that some concept art was released some time ago of Tom Cavanagh on an updated version of the Reverse Flash suit. One closer to the New 52 suit that Eobard used for a while. Not necessarily want that one, but he could use a redesign.

I really liked the leathery look of the fourth suit, but the 6th suit looks awesome. I think though that both could maybe improved by taking the lightning ears from the fifth suit. As bad as the head piece is, the ear bits I think look really good. Very solid, like a coin.

In my opinion, the season 4 suit is the best. Even compared to the season 6 suit. I know Season 6’s suit is more comic accurate or whatever, but it looks silly when it’s actually being worn in live action and not on a comic panel. It looks like red and gold pajamas really. I really do prefer the leather design of the first 4 seasons. And like the Season 4 suit looks like the ultimate evolution of all the previous leathery suits. In my opinion all they should’ve done is kept the season 4 suit and just brightened the red a bit, and made the boots gold and it would’ve been a perfect suit that they could’ve kept for the rest of the show.
I feel like season 3 was good. It just had 2/3 very big miss steps…. 😅😅
Honestly wish they kept that sort of leather smooth hardehell suit like in the future flash news article, the flat lightning bolt with the white emblem and no gold border coupled with the sort of bright red in season 7 and with gold boots and gold streaks on the suit would make an amazing comic accurate suit.
Edit: wish they messed with the reverse flash suit and give him some upgrades, one thing I want to see is in injustice 2 the reverse flash has these metal shoulder pads and metal plates somewhere around his suit, it would be nice if Barry had the suit I mentioned above this edit with those corresponding metal shoulder pads and silver/gold streaks around the suit so that their suits mirrored each other and didn’t look completely different. It was just really weird seeing Barry having the only spandexy onsie suit while every other character wears leather
the arrowverse has some pretty sick suits.

I love the current season's suit, it shows the clear learning curve the people working on the show have been on. It is not only comic accurate, but unique in it's class, arguably I'd say such a look it's hard to pull off without making it look out of touch in "real life", not even Marvel Movies have such a suit (and although I am aware their art direction is veeery different, I surely appreciate having that uniqueness here).
I can't wait for those golden boots.
(ahem and hopefully a better story direction hehe)

I have a theory that I saw someone have a few years ago but if you didn’t already see it then….
When thawne goes to kill Nora Allen, you see the flash leave and a portal open up, then thawnes powers stop working after. This is because when Barry leaves nobody else has a connection to the speed force, and the negative speed force doesn’t have a power source.

Something that they added to the suit for season six that was very understated at the time of release that I really love is the ear pieces. They are very comic accurate and look amazing.
i don't like the s6 version as much as the s4 one, because i feel like it looks kinda like pajamas on him. same with the new RF suit.

I do really like the current suit, but it needs more detail work to take my number one spot.
The ear wings need to to be a bit larger and angled straight back. The chest logo needs to be bigger. The dumb open lightning things on the arms need to be replaced with solid lightning that loops all the way around, like the belt. And for the boots, either the lightning points need to go all the way around and meet in the back, or they just need to be solid yellow already, with smaller wings on the top of the cuff.
The latest suit just looks sooo flash i love it especially with the gold boots, its sooo good and so eye appealing

seriously, why is it such a bad idea for the flash to wear a helmet?. I always thought it would look pretty cool if it was made of a resistant material and not just rubber (which doesn't make fucking sense because a speedster's head should be protected) but with an aesthetic close to the flash mask of the new 52, bright red with gold ray details, and I don't think it would look bad if it was accompanied by a spandex flash suit with a contemporary comic book esthetic. and i know it didn't look good in ezra's flash, but that was because the actor's face wasn't the right one for any flash suit at all, plus he was accompanied by that horrible armor.
