- The Crisis on Infinite Earths definitely brought a lot of cool new changes to the Arrowverse, but one of the biggest ones on The Flash was the earlier introduction of Barry's lightning throw technique. Problem is, who taught him how to do that?

In season 2 Barry originally travels back in time to talk to Thawne about the speed force equation. It could be possible that we are actually seeing season 2 Barry wearing the season 1 outfit to pretend to be season 1 Barry. Obviously a lot of things could have changed beyond that, and we don’t know for sure, but it still lines up with Barry learning to throw lightning and having the red logo. Also congrats on becoming a dad!

Barry originally went back in time for the speed equation on the day he fought Hartley right? Is it possible that something happened to past Barry and Future Barry had to take care of Hartley after he already learned how to throw lightning?

Maybe Thawne told barry how to throw lightning and that was the speech that made Barry figure out who Thawne actually was.
And then Barry learned to phase afterwards, so they kind of swapped times that Barry learned these things.

Obviously this introduces the problem why didn't Barry remember not to trust Wells and "Jay" and know who is Savatar and know all the people De Voe would absorb and that kind of stuff

I think I may have worked out why Eobard Wells would have taught Barry how to throw lightning, what if Sand Demon happened earlier than normal, being created from the particle accelerator instead of coming from another earth, and since Eobard (I think, it’s hard to tell what version of him knows what) would have come from the future where this has/will have happened then he would remember Barry taking out Sand Demon with lightning (possibly real or weather wand) which from Eobard’s future/past/will have been encounters with the flash he would know the flash can throw lightning.
That makes a lot of sense.

I always just assumed that the Flash that threw lightning was the S2 Flash who had come back. And for whatever reason S1 Barry was instead knocked out longer than expected.

My theory is that in post crisis. Sand Demon was affected by Thawne's particle accelerator. Then Thawne taught Barry to throw lightning. This happens the episode before Sound of Fury. That episode would take place at the same time it normally does.

I was under the impression that team flash still had the memories of the pre-crisis timeline and that's why he could throw lightning.

There's something that's been tinkering around in my head still that I remember from season 1 of Flash, that there was a letter sent to Barry that never had to do anything with the storyline after that it only made an appearance at the end of an episode

During the Barry n Reverse Flash fight in the stadium
Reverse Flash threw lightning at Barry, after the fight
Barry probably figure he could probably do it too since they both have similar abilities (their fight happened before the Hartley episode)
Barry discovered the ability by accident, similar to how he discovered Flashtime

It’s a pretty easy answer he gained all his memories back so therefore he remembered how to throw lightning
But if there was no multiverse then where did Zoom get the idea of “Jay Garrick”. There is a lot of holes in the post crisis history
Edit: Also Zoom’s origin would be different since his dad killed his mother because he was traumatized because of the “War of the America’s” so even if his father was traumatized by a different war you would think the timing and stuff would be different
Easy, Jay Garrick exist on Earth 2 post-crisis, or rather he did exist up until his (potential) death at the hands of the Injustice Society a decade ago as seen on Stargirl. That would perfectly allow for Zoom to pretend to be Jay when he arrives on Earth Prime. The only obstacle would be that Zoom would need to create another version of Jay's helmet since it's still stored in the JSA headquarters which wouldn't be a problem considering he was able to make an entirely new costume pre-crisis. He also would've needed to strictly only pretend to be Jay on Earth Prime because if tried doing it on Earth 2, the Injustice Society would've caught wind and killed him. I they would kill him rather than could considering they managed to wipe out most of the Justice Society, including Jay Garrick as The Flash
Ace of Games But Zoom never arrives on Earth Prime, he was born there in the post crisis timeline. In the post crisis Zoom nor any member of Team Flash comes in contact with another Earth. We see from Cisco’s board that Zoom is born on Earth Prime and gets his powers from the particle accelerator explosion.
@@dantemorales2493 they should've said that Martian Manhunter took all of Barry's Memories of Pre-Crisis and gave it to Team Flash. That would've explained Zoom better.

@@mrtuck1341 no, they are dead. Post Crisis Paragons (PCP) still have their memories from before crisis, so the PCPs that lived in the timeline before have completely been overridden by the now PCPs
I thought since he was a paragon he retains his memories of the original timeline, when Earth Prime was created, remember how he didn't know anything about the post crisis timeline and had to ask everyone and Gideon, thats what I thought at least lol.

Comic I have a theory about the Multiverse hear me out.
Barry finally gets the new Speed Force working and wants to test it out. And as we heard, Stargirl and Flash have yet to have a crossover. Just like what Barry and Kara did, Barry accidentally travels to Stargirls Earth and realizes the Multiverse still exists. Then travels back to Earth Prime and tells Team Flash and so on and so forth.

Weird idea. Jay Garrick was confirmed to be on earth prime post crisis so what if he joined team flash as a mentor after Thawne gets erased so maybe Jay taught Barry a couple of speedster tips(yes this kinda has a lot of holes)

Agreed. Barry on several occasions has mentioned that he doesn't know what's going on, because he ONLY remembers the pre-crisis timeline. Nothing post-crisis has effected the paragons memory.

Robert Falk but they didn’t relive the past as paragons. They jumped ahead. So the only time their pre crisis memories were in effect was the present. Their past selves in that timeline didn’t have those memories too.

Zoom's movement power isn't based on speed, it's based on time. He moves through time at a different pace than everything else. He doesn't really go that fast, he just completes what he's doing ahead of when he should.

Theory 4: when Barry travelled back instead of stopping Hartley from escaping he let everything happen as it should that’s how they ended up in the bridge , but there were henchmen there now so he used the lightening trick and that’s how thwane found out he was from the future post crisis. I think it makes sense

Barry was a paragon so he has all of his earth 1 memories that is why he and how he can throw lighting
congrats on baby comics, we all are happy for u dude. to answer this question, everyone who took place in crisis on infinite earths still has their memories from before crisis began, which means, Barry still remembers how to throw lightning when jay garrick aka Hunter zolomon aka zoom taught him.
Maybe you addressed this elsewhere, but here's other things about the Crisis that can't be ignored. Jay Garrick is apparently coming back in the new season. Is he the same Jay Garrick introduced at the end if season two who was Henry Allen's doppelganger? What about Nora Allen and Joan Garrick? Also what happened to Nora and Henry's graves?
Season 2 finale of Arrow had to play put differently thanks to Oliver saving his mom from Slade, as well as his Half-Sister later in the series.
Supergirl history is also wonky being added to the New Earth-Prime, especially given how Superman & Lois has unfolded: What Happened to the OG-Morgan Edge that plagued Kara in season 3? What about the Kryptonian Plot from season one?
Even the continuty of Batwoman is suspect, given her first appearance in the Elseworlds crossover and when the first episode of her show taking place.
The aftermath of the Crisis just raises too many questions.
