It was even kinda shown Zoom originally had red lightning because the time wraiths wiped the V9 side effects from his system and his lightning went back to red from his transformation to the Black Flash.
What no one brings up is that Zoom manage to CATCH up to Flash and Nora despite them significantly having a faster head start. Once, both Nora and Barry have to run in a straight line to go back in time, Zoom travels faster then then in order to CATCH up with then is insane
There are so many theories out there and when i listen to them i just feel like people are always trying to find some complex reasons why everything is happening. What about fact that Barry is just running at same speed as Nora to protect her just in case Zoom gets too close and fact that Barry and Nora dont have their suits so if they run at their max speed their clothes might start burning from friction. But Nora can reverse time to escape. Nora did the same thing to outrun the time wraith after getting the piece of Savitar and she did the same thing to catch up to Barry when she was hypnotized to kill Barry earlier in the season.

Barry is protecting Nora but he also cant move that fast because he is not wearing his suit. Speedsters need their suits to deal with the friction problem.

People always talk about him outrunning the nuke, but never mention that he was running around in Flashtime for like an hour while the nuke was going off and about halfway in he sped up the explosion! That's some incredible speed.
What doesn't make sense is that zoom was taken by the time wraths earlier and somehow doesnt change the time line.

Maybe Barry was running slower then he can, else his clothes would burn like kara in the supergirl crossover and when he showed his speed to felicity (he almost burned his shoes then)

First of all his clothes were nearly burned back when barry went to visit arrow so if barry could keep up with zoom his clothes would instantly burn and moreover now that barry has such a deep connection to the speedforce , i believe it protects him

The reason in that one scene in the speed force where Zoom was faster than Barry was because he was feeding off his lightning trail from behind him, it was mentioned a couple times in past seasons

Yeah some things in the Flash dont add up, like when Barry told nora at the night of the enlightenment "you were moving so fast I couldnt even see who you were" and now she is slower than zoom. That just doesnt make sense.

Zoom can't siphen speed. Thats only a power of the Negative Speedforce. Zoom has a regular (drug enhanced) speedforce.

It was even kinda shown Zoom originally had red lightning because the time wraiths wiped the V9 side effects from his system and his lightning went back to red from his transformation to the Black Flash.

What no one brings up is that Zoom manage to CATCH up to Flash and Nora despite them significantly having a faster head start. Once, both Nora and Barry have to run in a straight line to go back in time, Zoom travels faster then then in order to CATCH up with then is insane

There are so many theories out there and when i listen to them i just feel like people are always trying to find some complex reasons why everything is happening. What about fact that Barry is just running at same speed as Nora to protect her just in case Zoom gets too close and fact that Barry and Nora dont have their suits so if they run at their max speed their clothes might start burning from friction. Just simple guess. Also i suppose there are different rules for speedsters after they entered Speed Force portal to travel in time (inside Speed Force portal they all might be running at same speed).

It was probably because zoom was super close to then when they started running so that’s probably why zoom was able to tail them like if someone was a faster runner then you and you race then you would be able to match them for a little bit then they begin going ahead of you it’s like when Barry and reverse flash had thier first fight and Barry was chasing him Barry was able to get close but then reverse flash sped up and Barry couldn’t catch up to him again so zooms not faster it’s just he was able to match them for a little bit
