I have a stock 2016 so I have to swap out everything ? I can't just buy the gy6 motor ? Idk what happen it started shooting pool out everywhere.... But I wanted to swap it anyway
Hey Nick, i have seen your Ruck around town. (Venom) why no more videos? ive been driving my stock orange ruck. im usually around mama marias too. would bee cool to meet up after my GY6 swap.
Raul Reyes hey man! Haven’t been able to put up any videos lately cause my GoPro is currently damaged and need a new one. But now that winters up I’m gonna be getting the channel going again soon! I’m planning on getting some group rides goin this summer.

I’m not going to do a stretch or a gy6 swap to mine. I will do mods but not a stretch or the gy6 conversion. I want to be different and just do the mods.
hey Nick nice set up, i am really new to these gy6 engines and just swapped my ruck over to a 150cc. quick question that oil line that is connected to the cylinder head and runs along top of the cvt cover. My engine came with a line fully connected to the back of the crank case and yours isnt. does that matter?
I was reading through your comments wasn't able to see if this question was already asked. But how hard is it to get registered? I live in california. I want to build my own as well. I want to know if there are proper items I should get to make registration hassel free
Eram Ahmed not hard at all. the front frame is the ruckus itself so as long as u buy a front frame local then it will easy. other wise you will need to get a title tranfer if you buy from different state. but then again i dont know the rules of cali.
Is the 150cc the way to go or are the larger motors worth the additional money? couple hundred for the 150 v. a couple grand for the Taida 232. Your opinion?
so how do you like the motor on it I was looking at one of those on eBay for about 300 bucks with the carburetor and CDI. so do you ever think you would ever change the cam and the carburetor on it just asking thinking about upgrades
I like the 150. a 171 feels just like the 150 but the 171 keeps climbing a litter faster after 55. it's fun riding the 150 cause u can use more of it all the time. and yes ur right about the 228 and 232 they are straight drag racing motors. especially when they are all full taida parts. 228 and 232 have crazy torque compared to 150. especially with stock gearing. I can cruise 60 at qr throttle on my 228. on the 150 I gotta hold 3qr - full throttle so for i got the 150 to top out at 67 so far 228 Tops out at 83.
Gy6 Nick i have nothing but cash lol but i need it to go at least 75mph where i live i have to drive on some highways where the speed limit is 65mph i dont wana build one to go only 65 because i feel like topping it out all the time will be too much strain on the engine so i figured if i can build one to go 75mph i cn still go highway speeds whilst not running the engine at full throttle for extended periods of time any idea what size engine id need to do this and where can i start buying frames and everything
ray howard you're better off buying a ninja 250 for 1500-2000 imho. Waaaay funner and will get on the highway without any issues. Blue collar bobbers also make a cafe racer kit if you're into that kind of stuff
ray howard i wouldn't say a ninja 250 is more fun but its definitly safer and more reliable on the highway. but doing 70+ on the highway daily is not really recommend for a gy6 ruckus. once in a while maybe but not every day thats a lot of stress on the motor.
Gy6 Nick true, fun is subjective but bang for buck you can't deny the ninja would get the tasks he wants done with less problems. I have built a ruckus and they are an absolute blast. sweet build
jonsy simmons i explain most of the parts in the video and what sites i got them. but i used amazon, drowsports, ruck shop, monstergy6, gy6store, mnntbx, steady garage, ruck house, ebay, makoa
that would be dope but the mount alone is 600 bucks. I tried to spend little money as possible on this build. only thing I paid a lot for was the wiring harness.
in all honesty it would have been cheaper for you to just buy a icebear maddog 150. and you would have the exact same thing, just without the "Honda" brand name.
Everyone is putting a stretch on their ruckus and a gy6 motor. So many do the same thing but nobody wanted to keep the original motor on it or anything. It’s so boring seeing everyone doing the same things to their ruckus now days. Basically doing the same thing everyone else has done.
i love the ruckus, but i hate the engine, its a freaking 4 stroke. these awesome bikes deserve a quick and responsive 2 stroke screamer. my 50cc scooter can go faster than this 150cc slow stroke.
Wilco Muurling me to man the ruckus is life haha your right the ruckus desereves a 2t. i feel the main reason to switch to gy6 is cause there CHEAP motors that go faster than the stock GET engine.
I could put a 70cc 2stroke engine on it, including a properly tuned 17,5mm carb for it, and it wil outperform any tuned 150cc 4stroke engine. And for less money. In the long run, 2stroke engines are WAY cheaper than these horrible performing 4stroke engines
Wilco Muurling you may be right. if only the manufacturers created more known mounts for 2t if would change the game. they are all about mounting that gy6. prob since stuff breaks and u have to keep buying more parts haha
cant wait to get my gy6 set up my get motor will do 80 kph but it takes so long to get there
wheres the mirrors??
sick man I'll post some video when my parts come in right now I'm powder coating my from and I'm going wit vynl wrap for paint job lol
I have a stock 2016 so I have to swap out everything ? I can't just buy the gy6 motor ?
Idk what happen it started shooting pool out everywhere.... But I wanted to swap it anyway
Id like to do the same thing but have a question ,,,does the new frame come with a title?
Greg Ashcraft just buy a complete used ruckus from someone and change what you don’t like and sell the parts you take off and change.
Hey have you ever cam across a 161QMK long case motor are they good motors and do they bolt up to regular gy6 150 mounts
Hey Nick,

@@gy6nick883 would you suggest just getting the TRS gy6 bundle or should i piece it together? i do plan on going 171 bore later down the road as well.
@@gy6nick883 let me know what you think, should i get the ruck house gy6 kit or bundle it together?
Nice ride, Whats the top speed?
I could not find the link to your handles bars they look Slick! What are they called and where can you get them?
These ones are a mnnthbx set up. Check mnnthbx website
is there many options for aftermarket motors for these things? like can you fit lawnmower motors in em or is it a specific motor that only fits it?
Hey nice video man, love the way it sounds on the road!
I’m not going to do a stretch or a gy6 swap to mine. I will do mods but not a stretch or the gy6 conversion. I want to be different and just do the mods.
Where did u get those foot pegs at if u dont mind me asking ive been looking for sum that extend out a little farther like those do
Great bike! I usually love these stock but this one looks mean man.
you should do a skyteam monkey build or Suzuki pv build
hey Nick nice set up, i am really new to these gy6 engines and just swapped my ruck over to a 150cc. quick question that oil line that is connected to the cylinder head and runs along top of the cvt cover. My engine came with a line fully connected to the back of the crank case and yours isnt. does that matter?
I think you are talking about the oil overflow. if u were to put to much oil in it, it would come out that hose.
Hey Nick, great vids!
i need dis.
whats the black bike in the back
Austin Zolecki thats my harley forty-eight
Where did u buy the engine mount kit?
I was reading through your comments wasn't able to see if this question was already asked. But how hard is it to get registered? I live in california. I want to build my own as well. I want to know if there are proper items I should get to make registration hassel free

awesome thanks ill do a little more research, they dont ask for motor size or spec sheet?
Eram Ahmed they shouldnt since a ruckus is registered as a 49cc scooter so unless you tell them and ur insuracne u should be good
this is exactly what i want. a moped that passes cars on the streets
What header is that?
Do you miss having a disc brake setup on this one? I know I would.
honestly it's actually not to bad. so far I haven't really wished I had them.
Is the 150cc the way to go or are the larger motors worth the additional money? couple hundred for the 150 v. a couple grand for the Taida 232. Your opinion?
I hear the 171 is less finicky, the 232 is a race motor and requires constant attention
the 150 is fast enough
so how do you like the motor on it I was looking at one of those on eBay for about 300 bucks with the carburetor and CDI. so do you ever think you would ever change the cam and the carburetor on it just asking thinking about upgrades
yea it's gonna be around 300 bucks anywhere. but yes u can change the cam and the carb I actually have an Oko carb on this.
Hey what did you do about wiring the gy6? Did you buy a plug n play harness or buy a generic Chinese harness? Thanks
Robbie Bertheaume makoa wiring harness. most relibale but expensive
Where u get the wire harness
Sokphak Ouk makoa harness. probably the best harness out there for the swap. i ordered mine offline from there website
How do you like the 150 compared to say a 171 or 228? Whats the top speed on that 150?
I like the 150. a 171 feels just like the 150 but the 171 keeps climbing a litter faster after 55. it's fun riding the 150 cause u can use more of it all the time. and yes ur right about the 228 and 232 they are straight drag racing motors. especially when they are all full taida parts. 228 and 232 have crazy torque compared to 150. especially with stock gearing. so far 228 Tops out at 83.
BrockGrimes check out my gy6 big bore comparison video
Do you have a short axle on there? Also is it an 11 pole or 8 pole stator?
Giancarlo Casiano yes there is a short axle on this one. 11 pole stator.
Makoa harness is the way to go. havent had one wiring issue on either bike.
So you could have just bought a new ruckus or even a used one for what you paid to build yours.
how much do you got into it looking to build one myself with the same engine
ray howard 2600 total to build this bike starting from nothing. if you already have a ruckus then 1500
Gy6 Nick i have nothing but cash lol but i need it to go at least 75mph where i live i have to drive on some highways where the speed limit is 65mph i dont wana build one to go only 65 because i feel like topping it out all the time will be too much strain on the engine so i figured if i can build one to go 75mph i cn still go highway speeds whilst not running the engine at full throttle for extended periods of time any idea what size engine id need to do this and where can i start buying frames and everything

Yes
Where did you order everything fromr
jonsy simmons i explain most of the parts in the video and what sites i got them. but i used amazon, drowsports, ruck shop, monstergy6, gy6store, mnntbx, steady garage, ruck house, ebay, makoa
Man I need to make some money and gy6 swap mine . But I also need to get my own car since that's more practical. Nah definently gy6 ruckus
When you bought your harness did you add all the additional options or did you just buy the harness?
Maxime Cormier the harness itself is plug and play. I didnt add anything
Ok and is it for a 8 or 11 pole stator?
Maxime Cormier AC 11 pole stator
Ok thanks
yo guys i was just wondering is that 67 mph or kph
jeff gallant mph
Nice video, alot good detail
what speeds are you maxing
ejb 84 67 is the top speed so far.
Good lookin bike man !
why dont u put a reliable motor in it like a zuma 125 then slap a bbk kit from rcscooters? atleast No GY6life
that would be dope but the mount alone is 600 bucks. I tried to spend little money as possible on this build. only thing I paid a lot for was the wiring harness.
@@gy6nick883 how much was the harness , 300$
Beautiful job
would love to know where you bought the chassis parts/pieces
I have the same eBay $20 muffler
I've see that bike around before

Lol. I got a whole ruck for 400
Joseph Galanin yea a 49cc ruck. Still thats a hell of a steal. Nice find
Gy6 Nick Yeah, I'm pretty sure the motor is shot tho, but I was gonna gy6 it anyway. What did the gy6 part of yours cost?
Joseph Galanin for just a gy6 motor is gonna be 325+
i love the ruckus, but i hate the engine, its a freaking 4 stroke. these awesome bikes deserve a quick and responsive 2 stroke screamer. my 50cc scooter can go faster than this 150cc slow stroke.

Wilco Muurling you may be right.
if only the manufacturers created more known mounts for 2t if would change the game. they are all about mounting that gy6. prob since stuff breaks and u have to keep buying more parts haha
ray howard thats the thing. theres not a lot of known mounts for it. you wooukd have to fabricate your own or get one custom made i believe
What size rear wheel ?
