@@thesilent6915 It's been a while since I put them in so I'm not 100% sure because I bought several different weights to try. I think it's the 6 gram Dr Pulley sliders, but might be 5.5 gram instead. I tried rollers and sliders in different weights and the sliders have a much better power band and they last longer. I only weigh 170 lbs so the 6 gram ones might not be perfect for you. My advice is to just buy a few sets in different weights and try each one for a week or two and see what you think. They are easy to replace, but make sure you get a good spanner wrench, use a torque wrench when tightening stuff and never use an impact wrench. Also tighten the nut by hand first and then turn the variator slightly by hand and then you'll be able to tighten the nut a little more by hand. Repeat that step until you can't tighten it anymore by hand and then use the spanner wrench and torque wrench. You do NOT want to damage that crankshaft so take your time and don't take any short cuts.
Nice video and Thank You. At 21:10 when the air filter is going in, be aware of a few things. Only use a genuine Honda air filter, the correct part number. The shape is the same as some Honda generators and mowers and the same as some filters for Briggs or other engines at Home Depot or Lowes. It is not. Also, reuse the metal frame from your original filter. Mostly, be VERY careful to get the plastic cover on correctly. It's almost better to put the filter in the cover and then present it to the base, hold firmly and install the screws. I say all of this as a Honda tech who has a dozen years of experience making a mistake or helping others who have made a mistake with this fine little units air filter. The cover MUST fit properly with the correct filter or you will have a lean condition. Scooter will start and idle but open the throttle and it falls flat on its face. See the video where the guys from Revzilla ride the Ruckus and Zuma and try to modify the air box of the Ruckus for more power...fail. IMO, the belt and valve check could have waited but I like cleaning the rollers and they will flat spot over time and reduce performance. Change Oil frequently! (500-800 miles ish and these will last a very long time. Had a customer with 24K miles! On a Ruckus!)
Mopeds actually last much longer. I had Royal enfield 49cc back in 1980s (in India). This would go like a motorcycle. I was riding to commute on highway and it would go 60km easily (60km speed limits there, yeh, too many people and super crowded). Royal enfield stopped making it long while ago, but I still see them on the road (on you tube video). This little beast would go off road and muddy area in monsoon was no biggie. Never seen such a fuel efficient, dual sport like vehicle again.
That must be a rare thing. A standard ruckus. They are a cute little thing. We only got them in the UK for a couple of years. They were expensive at the time. So extremely rare here. Only seen a couple on the road in the last twenty years.
Haven’t you forgotten something? Liquid coolant. But thank you for such a detailed service video. I am thinking of buying ruckus. BTW, is this safe to drive in urban areas and downtown?
Hey I’m in Vermont I’m about to buy one of these but I wanted to extend the frame out with a better shock can you do that kinda of work stupid question I know haha
I own a ruckus and I can say it does 114mpg but the bigger the rider the lower it will be. I wanna stretch and lower mine with a motor swap but I also think it would be easier just to dump that money into a cbr 600
That’s incredible that it gets that kind of mileage. I wouldn’t mind owning one of these little bikes! I’ve seen some modded Ruckus’s and they look like a lot of fun but yes money would probably be better spent on a bigger bike like the cbr600
When I had mine apart to put in new Jets I detailed everything underneath all that plastic and ordered a new Fuel Filter and replaceable parts. Because why not? Honda needs an access panel easier to remove for maintenance. 🤔🧐
If you got all the air out and it’s still soft I’d say you either still have a leak or possibly a bad master cylinder. Did you pull the brake line off anywhere? I’ve seen people pull lines and forget to put the copper washers back on correctly.
Just one small point - but an important one - in an otherwise excellent maintenance movie... ALL Japanese "cross-point" headed screws are likely to be J.I.S. (Japanese Industy Standard) and NOT Phillips #2, as you thought when removing the Air Filter cover. If you own and maintain any Japanese vehicles, then you MUST invest in a few JIS #2 Driver bits - a company called Vessel makes the best range - plus perhaps a #1 and #3 if necessary. The good news is that these driver bits will fit Phillips-headed screws much better than a standard Phillips driver - with little or no "Camming out" under high torques. Of course, you should use JIS bits in the JIS screws on your bikes - and these are identified by the small "dimple" between two adjacent radial "slots" in a JIS screw head. YOU SHOULD NOT USE PHILLIPS DRIVER BITS ON JIS FASTENERS.
Neat. There is no separate scooter license down here in Georgia. Just a driver's license. No insurance no registration no regulation. But anything bigger than a Ruckus requires a separate motorcycle license, registration, insurance, etc.
Wonder how long Honda is gonna drag out the Ruckus in the United States? Wonder when they are going to give us the Zoomer 110? It’s been in other countries for years…. The (SLOW DRIP) Feed to us is getting out of control…
Never seen such a detailed service on a Ruckus, enjoyed the video 😊
I hade a 06 yamaha bws. In quebec we can get a moped license at 14 years old. Gave me freedom. Built it to a billet 80cc thing would do 120 kph
That’s cranking right along!
Just bought one yesterday it's amazing a lot more horsepower than my tao tao pony
Definitely a cool looking little machine
I love these type of videos u working on stuff
I see you rocking the ruckus 👍
You bet!
Howdy duty from indiana just stopped to say hi I’ll watch this later keep up the great work
Thanks man, have a good day!
Always enjoy your content buddy.. thanks!
Glad you enjoy it!
I can’t give more power to the warp drive, Captain, she’s breaking up! The ruckus is a little beast. ✌️
I changed the variator weights in mine and now it'll do around 45 mph on a flat road.
What size weights you use in about to buy one but I like 220lbs so wanted to know if you knew what weights were good

Nice ride!😊
I have Two ruckus’s a 2019 and 2023. Love riding them. My other bike is a CRF450R.
You have to be careful riding it through towns. Women tend to throw bra,s and panties at you 🤣🤣
Rode them before, pretty fun. At one point about 20 people around me had them just to play on together.
Oh wow! I’ve never actually known anybody that had one.
Drywall and work table , really looking professional! (editing too!) not sure I've ever seen a vehicle where the ECU is the same size as the engine!
Thanks! And yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing about that ECU haha.
Hey rock! Got any quad test rides coming up??? love your content, keep going!
I’d like to do some, I’m trying to get caught up on work right now but will have some videos coming soon!
Very good sir.
They are cool. I like the wheeler videos. But always a good video.
They’ll be more wheelers to come.
@rockspowersports I'm getting a 570 ace this weekend. Any summer videos of a ace?
That honda is so quiet 😮

Another great video an if your interested I’ve got 2 3 wheeler I’m looking to get rid of one is a Honda 200s an a Yamaha 200 shaft drive
Here to watch and i never owned a ruckus lol
Glad you’re watching anyways!
Cute little valves 😂

Nevada doesn’t require a motorcycle license and it’s optional for insurance, it’s a one and done deal for registration, no yearly renewal

Keep an eye, on those 10mm ,they always seem to slip away Rock. lol ☃️👍👍

Wish they would have made them do do 45mph without mods so they could fit in with the normal flow of city traffic
The feet close together thing seems super awkward but let’s face it, anything with a motor and wheels is fun.
Definitely a little awkward and not as balanced as a motorcycle, where your feet are apart.
My jeep tj has broke down...and I have been driving the ruckus all summer...now the ruckus is breaking down......the carb jets keep plugging up.

I got a question i bleed my front brake on my 2004 Yamaha kodiak 450 there no more air but brake or still dont brake good what could it be ty
How does your brake handle feel when squeezing it. Soft, like almost can bring it towards the bar or does it feel normal?
@@rockspowersports really soft need to pump a lot to get it to stop

Do you need an insurance to be legal on the street?
My sister hade the 4stroke bws she put 80 thousand km on it befor fuel pump stoped
Wow that’s impressive for that little engine!
I was sure you were going to clean the under-seat plastic cover that the bag sits on. Oh well.
no license required depending on where you live
I thought people never work on Hondas.
It's not a moped in the least bit. People need to quit using the term "moped" for small scooters. Mopeds have pedals.
