    Hey Drew!! I had to come see what the heck a frog chicken was!! So cool!! It sort of looks like a frog but of course frogs don't have wings..Hehehe. Gosh it came out so juicy and golden brown!

      You’re right, it’s not as tedious as removing the spine for sure. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment.

    This is much smarter than trying to saw through the bones the other way. Also as an aside, anyone ever cut into a chicken/turkey and found green meat inside? Its a thing sadly

    • @outdoorindoortexan
      @outdoorindoortexan  10 місяців тому +1

      Yup I've found green meat in a whole chicken before. I've also opened a whole chicken fresh from the store and within the expiration date that was completely rancid inside. Yuck! Definitely have to be careful.

      @@outdoorindoortexan that's macabre. I wonder what's going on in terms of quality assurance with these meat companies

    A must in my to do list! Never cooked chicken on BBQ. And I bet it will go very well with cajun mix and your habanero sauce! Thank you.

      Definitely BBQ some chicken, and soon. Once you have the basics down, it’s so easy to throw together and always a crowd pleaser. I can confirm the habanero sauce is perfect for smoked chicken! Thanks for watching and leaving the comment!

    Sweet!!! We're still making hot sauce off your habanero recipe. It's been a hit in the family and I use that as rub for samon burgers

    Nothing wrong with using a water pan. Its just another tool, the key is knowing when and where to use the tool

    Use a boning knife to remove breast meat. You'll get more than that short chef's knife.
    Interesting technique. I use a 12" cast iron skillet in the oven, so I think I'll stick to spatchcock for now.

    Ribbit! I will definitely give this a go the next time I grill a whole chicken. I'm a big fan of spatchcocking.
    Have you ever tried separating the skin from the meat and putting your rub under the skin? I think it helps get the rub flavor into the meat more, if that's something you like.

    • @outdoorindoortexan
      @outdoorindoortexan  Рік тому

      let me know what you think, Greg! It seemed very similar to my regular spatchcock method, but quite a different presentation lol I haven't tried removing the skin, but that sounds like a great idea! I'll give that a go next I smoke one. Hope all is well on your end!

    • @gregdevlin905
      @gregdevlin905 Рік тому +1

      @@outdoorindoortexan I don't remove the skin, just use a finger to separate it from the meat. The skin holds the rub in place.
