  • Thank you for watching my frog style smoked turkey video. On this video, I took a 14.5lb turkey, cut it up frog style and smoked it on my Yoder YS 1500 pellet smoker. This can easily be duplicated on a YS480 or a YS640 or any pellet smoker. If you've never smoked a turkey frog style, you have got to give it a try.
    Thanks for watching

    Hey Joe, could you clarify your cook time? You rotated the bird after 1 hour 15 minutes. Then you come back and say "it's been an hour and 45 minutes" right before you put the butter on and said that you were going to cook 10 more minutes.. That would make cook time 3+ hours, but in your summary you said total cook time was 2.5 hours. I know all cooks are different, but since my bird is similar size as yours, I want to make sure I have an accurate understanding of your experience.

    You used two different methods when cutting the paper, seems deceptive.... :-) The first was just cut from the outside of the paper and the second you pierced the paper and drug the knife down while pulling (dragging) the blade through.... 🙂

  • @kirkgeahlen5532
    @kirkgeahlen5532 Рік тому

    As much as I love your videos and I am a subscriber I have to call shenanigans on your knife sharpening tool ad. To show how dull and I was you were slicing at the edge of the paper and it was actually cutting and even though you said it was tearing, and then to show how "sharp" it was, you hold the paper at the top and then stab the sheet right in the center which of course is going to let the knife appear to slice right down to page instead of cutting at the edge like you did your first test.

    • @SmokinJoesPitBBQ
      @SmokinJoesPitBBQ  9 місяців тому

      @junegreene192 Who washes the turkey?
      What You Need To Know
      Washing your turkey could spread germs from the kitchen sink, nearby food, or the turkey itself
      Germs that can make people sick are common in the guts of healthy poultry and are legally allowed to be on raw turkey and chicken
      It’s possible that two common causes of food poisoning - salmonella and campylobacter - are on the turkey, said Mindy Brashears, a food safety official at the U.S. Department of Agriculture

  • @biggrizz4447
    @biggrizz4447 Рік тому

    Why didn't you stab into the paper and try to cut it before you sharpened it cause most dull knives will still cut a piece if they are stabbed thru it.
