    C'mon man! Killing me! That looks awesome! I LOVE chimichurri, and the touch of spice has to be phenomenal! Thoughts.... So the beer has all the drippings. Add some of that Nashville spice & a dab of honey and cook down? Maybe something nice to spoon over! Another awesome cook Ron! I'm telling ya, I may need an Egg!

    Thank you Captain Ron, another winner. I cooked your Frog Chicken yesterday for a post football game dinner with friends and it was loved by all. Please don't call me a whiner but the printed recipe is not up to your high standards, nothing is mentioned in either your video or on the recipe of quantities, I guessed and made entirely too much nor does it mention the 375 cooking temperature or approximate length of time. Keep up the good work, I look forward to you videos every week.

      Hey, I just double checked and all of the info is right there in the link to the blog. There isn't an exact measurement for the rub but everything else is pretty much written into the recipe. Let me know if you have more questions, I am happy to help.

    I went to wood> like oak, hickory, peacan, and mesquite. screw the charcoal and charcoal briskets. There hard to light and they don't burn worth a crap. Plus the wood puts real smoke and natural flavors on the meats and things. The tastes is much better. Plus it don't cost me a dime. I have trees of it. Also screw the charcoal lighter fluid. I use my left over old cooking oil for a fire starter in the grills and things. It don't burn up like gasoline does, it stays on the wood until its on fire

    But how was the skin? The moisture from the beer, no direct heat, and only 375°… probably not all the skin was crispy ?

    • @FOGOcharcoal
      @FOGOcharcoal  2 роки тому

      That is a really good question, thanks for bringing it up. It was actually just fine. Because of the shape of the Egg, the heat is always moving over it so it acts almost like a convection oven.

    But the backbones can be frozen and saved for hella good chicken stock also. BUTTTT, this looks so much easier if we don't have time to make chicken stock, even from frozen bits. LOL! Excellent video! Thank you so much. Now I just need to find someone that has cooked a spatch/frog cocked...errr...that sounds bad..but I'm immature.....HAHAHA!... on a gas grill dang it! I'm afraid the direct heat will not only burn the skin but overcook the breasts.
    Edit: You've never been a thigh eater? FWATTTT?!?! Dark meat in yard birds are always soooo incredible! LOL!!! Glad your girlfriend steered you the right way. HAHA! (I tend to worry about cooking dark meat enough though. I'm always afraid it's undercooked so I tend to over cook it I think because I've seen so much "redness" come from it at times. 🤢🤮 But dang it tastes so good when I get it right.)

      @FOGOcharcoal  Рік тому +1

      ok, first of all, I LOVE your sense of humor. I giggle every time I hear the word too. Second, gas grill is simple. Bring it to the curb and get a charcoal grill! LOLOL Seriously, simply light one of the burners and cook the chicken on the other side away from the flames. No problem

    • @CarolinaGirlCreationZ
      @CarolinaGirlCreationZ Рік тому +1

      @@FOGOcharcoal OMG LMAO at roll that sucker to the curb! TOTALLY agree!!! Charcoal is ALWAYS better. I'm in the market currently for a gas/charcoal combo grill. Gas for heating up quick when I need it, and then turning that trash off so I can charcoal cook my meat. 😅

So i don't have any use for a dam pizza oven either ~ Are you a grill HOARDER? I'am a HOARDER to. Like leather coats, cloths, boots, shoes, and hats> I got 3 big walk in closets full he heee.
