the abyss watchers were an army of undead who fought against the spreading abyss. they would bury and ruin entire kingdoms at the mere indication that something involving the abyss was located there. we'll get more into the abyss as it becomes important, but the abyss is a slowly growing tidal wave slowly swallowing the earth. it only really became a problem after the linking of the first flame though. those infected by the abyss go mad and lose their sanity, attacking everything around them wildly. eventually the abyss watchers were affected by it too and started all slaughtering each other. it's likely the abyss watchers were thrown into the fire to link the flame as a way to get rid of them. abyss affected abyss watchers started killing each other, and sane ones started killing each other as soon as they realized they might be affected by the abyss, and they got stuck in an eternal cival war where everybody kills each other, rises back up from the dead because they all are undead, and keep killing each other. they were obviously not in any kind of mental capacity to relink the fire upon resurrection, hence why this lord of cinder abandoned the throne
Damn they have a cool backstory. They sound kinda similar, to me at least, to the hunters in Bloodborne. Where they kill beast because of the blood usage but eventually get affect by the blood as well. Btw, the place leading to the abyss is the worst area thus far to me lol as you’ll see in the next vid. Appreciate the lore my guy!
Listen, I’ve been a dark souls/ from software fan since ds1. I always love watching newcomers to the series experience any of the games for the first time. You’ve earned a sub from this souls veteran just from your enthusiasm for the games and hilarious commentary. Keep it up bro . I’ll be watching this playthrough
Siegward is a really cool NPC but his questline won't continue unless you help him at the tower where you met him. He will give you a drink if you did it correctly. Also, there is a separate path that takes you to a new erea in the swamp with the giant crabs.
Awww, now i am nostalgic. it was my first souls game and still my fav to this day. love your interactions with npcs btw. you are doing a great job and have yourself a new subscriber keep it up😄
Hey, it's great to see you enjoy DS3! It's my 2nd favorite Fromsoft game after Bloodborne! A few tips in case you missed these: 1. You can talk to Yoel (the NPC you saved with the stone on his back). He can give you 5 level ups for free - after you get one level you just have to die a few times for him to offer the next one 2. There's a very useful vendor NPC in the high wall area locked in a cell (you get the key also in high wall). You can save him to buy plenty of useful consumables and weapons 3. You can buy the Abyss Watcher's armor from the old lady in Firelink Shrine. It's pretty expensive though from what I remember 4. If you're at all interested in magic, you can already access all 3 main magic trainers - you can google their locations if you're interested: - Orbeck for sorceries - Cornyx for pyromancies (dedicated fire magic system that fromsoft removed in Elden Ring) - Irina for miracles (faith magic)
Here's more tips but mainly you missed a bonfire near the boss. By taking the stairs up instead of going straight go right, there is a small door which leads to a bonfire Rings are the main part of anyone's build, they can increase the speed of stamina regen, or just increase max health or any stat. Equip the covetous silver serpent ring because it increases the amount of souls you get From the second bonfire in the road of sacrifices, take a left which leads you to the crystal sage boss fight and the cathedral of the deep and also nearby is also a guy named orbeck who teaches sorceries The exiles greatsword is a good weapon and will carry you through most of your playthrough The ability on the straight sword is stance and if you use the light attack it will do a faster but weaker attack and heavy attack is slower but stronger Titanite shards are found throughout the world, twinkling titantie is dropped by some of the small crystat lizards and scales are dropped by the big lizards
When you met siegward , that elevator has to platforms , just activate elevator that goes down and jump off , the other one comes from the top.. when you go to the top , in the middle of the road you can jump off the elevator into the small area 🤝 13:28
I just binge watched your entire BB playthrough and I am excited to watch you play DS3! The moveset of the farron GS is so nice, I remember loving it too ^^
In case you're wondering why I haven't been detailing the lore; it makes NO sense untill you play ds1, so I'll explain it then. I know it seems like a bunch of nonsense terms are being thrown at you, but I promise it all clicks once you know the lore of the first two games. I can give you a basic, non-spoiler rundown, though, if you want.
Sup i started watching you when you started your bloodborne series. Me myself think your videos are super interesting and energetic. It makes my day happier keep it up!!!
Abyss watchers are my favourite boss in this game and im only 26 seconds in the video and you deserve already my like Bro this is so fun to watch im glad I discovered you 😆 thank you for putting the awesome Nier music in the last video this soundtack is such a masterpiece. btw. I heavily recommend you to play Nier Automata if you havent yet just only for the music alone its so good and such a mood. this game is not so long but you must play it mutliple times to understand everything about it, its such an underrated gem. Cheerio :)
10:06 I’m gonna say this now that you’ve seen up to phase 2… Widen your gaze, there is more than just one white thing… his elbow, his thigh, his back, his foot, his calf, his wrist all have one, each pop does damage
im starting ds3 aswell today and im going to watch you as i progress in the game i have to note that theres something weird in the voice maybe its the mic idk but its kinda weird tho in the bloodborne series the voice was great hope that you can fix that in this episode its better than the last one but i can still hear the difference from the bloodborne one hope you the best my guy
It always cracks me up watching people new to the game take on the CRG for the first time. I imagine all of them watching someone else's playthrough afterwards...seeing them storm in with a fire weapon and take out the ballzack x2 and finish the boss in a minute or two...and just fume. I know I sure did after my first encounter with him :D
Something you should know. Try finding undead bone shards in previous levels that you've already been to. They increase the amount of hp and fp restored when drinking Estus. There aren't many in the game, but I believe you should be able to get at least 3 of them at the point you are at. They help out a ton with later bosses that only give time for 1 heal in between attacks.
10:30 Yes, unfortunately, not all fromsoft games are as good as bloodborne. In the Dark Souls trilogy, you'll want to watch the enemy's attacks, learn their moves, and take advantage of the ones you can attack after.
A good advice I can give you is that in most cases, when you get grabbed, you can get away from it earlier if you spam R1 and L1, or RB and LB that is, good game :)
I know this video is from 5 months ago, but the exile great sword is one of the bests. Hits heavy, consumes not a lot of stamina and is fast. One of my all time favorites. Next would probably be the great mace.
The elavator has two platforms so just send it down and get on the top one to go up, also i'm glad you enjoy the watchers drip. And the spin attack has a combo if you keep presing it ;)
Hello! Newish to your channel. DS3 is really fantastic. It has it's ups and downs, but I find it to be the best on giving players a proper progression on the difficulty curve compared to any other Souls game. Also, expect a few gimmick bosses like the Cursed Rotted Greatwood. Though when I say like I mean gimmick in general. I personally think the giant tree boss is pretty bad.
Undead boneshards increase how much your flask heals you btw. not sure if you went back to farron swamp to get the one by the big door where the torches are lit before Abyss Watchers (bunch of slugs surrounding it). I'd recommend going back to older areas and exploring. Lots you missed including some good stuff and an NPC or two in undead settlement.
when you talk to the npc's in the shrine properly you could have known about what to do in the swamp, but i think your search about that game considered only the cheesy tricks and every secret that you don't have to solve yourself! I know it is easier to beat this game this way because every thing is known about it by now but believe me the experience you could have without the Solution guide is a lot more satisfying!

That’s such a cool lore piece tho. So whenever I ember up, lore wise I’m kinda restoring my soul and when I die I lose that bit of soul. I also love the correlation between rage quit and hollow lol, give me more reason to not do that. Thank you my guy!
Use the last swords ability wise because it open you up for a counter hit that can be deadly against wrong foe and like many have said you missed a miniboss that siegward helps you in but nice progress
You missed the bonfire at minute 14.30. Also the weapon that the guy at 14.50 dropped is an extremely good weapon. Same goes for weapon at 16.38 and also 16.48. Also you kind of skipped 2 bosses. Before you went down the stairs in that upper area is another boss and if you go passed him you eventualy find the cathedral of the deep, a beautiful level with boring boss. Because you skipped those 2 the abbys watchers were so hard for you The weapon you end the video with is also great i heard but i have no experience with it myself
Fire and chaos later game are the best weapons for PvE. I have two lothic straight swords. One chaos and the other Dark. Also the Dark Axe at the beggining of the game is really good.
Now that you recruited Yoel of Londor you should progress his quest before advancing past the Adish Washers, otherwise he dies. He gives you 5 levels for free (over how many times you died after accepting his first level up).
This is it, you got the best greatsword of the game, you just need to level your stamina to use the full combo, its an OP dodge+atack with lots of damage
I love watching other people first blind playthrough because of stuff like this. Took me like half an hour to fully clear the area between the swamp door and watchers first time and loot it. This guy is like a raging bull, door to watchers blind run world record 😅
It was a near 3hr recording thus I’ve to cut out a lot of things and save the most “action-packed” scenes for the video. Also, I tend to go back to things when I’m done so I’m pretty sure I got most of the areas that I’ve missed covered. Thanks for letting me know anyways my guy
Should've fit in some light attacks in between his attacks as well during the last bossfight. It's not needed sure but you might have killed him sooner.
Absolutely obsessed with ER... but, then i played DS3 and think that the overall aesthetic of DS is TOP TIER! I like the dark fantasy flavor in DS better than ER, tbh.
By the way if youd like, the Great sword that Guts uses is in a place called Farron Keep, so keep that in mind when you get there ! Its up on a broken stone walkway, hope that helps! Have a good one
Abyss Wachers without big frosty bonk. Bad, very bad xD It's fine. There is a lot of weapons to try and enjoy. A lot. Also don't be scared for the 28 Strength points. Two handed it's like you have x1.5 on Strength and you can equipo things with 28 Strength 2 handed with 20 Strength.
actually, if you use both hands on a weapon, you are increasing your strength by 50%, so to use something that needs 24 str with BOTH hands, you'd only need 16
cant get enough of watching people roll through DS3 for the first time especially as their first literal dark souls game. youve got the stuff, ashen one. try parrying bosses! parryable bosses are real and the abyss watchers were one of them. low key gundyr, the "tutorial boss" was also parryable and you tried but just barely missed the timing. that also plays into this fact, a lot of enemies have hidden weaknesses along with other unique quirks that can allow you to get the upper hand on them. dont let fromsoft get you more than you get yours 😂
Zelda ocarina of time for rupees no idea stoned but Zelda is og best game ever 💯play that blind lost so many hours in that as you had like 2 games a year if lucky! Great content 100% elden ring and now bloodborne but will need to buy ps5 which is terrible as I'm xbox better controller but zero games for xbox x and I brought elite controller so its not been on for like 2 years shocking! 💯👏

its the best one in my humble opinion. I have been playing it for over 10 years and still enjoy doing it over and over
25:00 They call that "Lorewalking". It's something humanoid bosses sometimes do. It's meant to intimidate the player, don't fall for it.
Hmmmm…… I’m gonna start doing that myself lol

love the series, the ending was perfect vibe ❤❤❤
mr lore man here to explain how undeath works in this game!!
so just like bloodborne, elden ring, and sekiro, coming back to life every time you die is a thing in the lore of the game
you, and the VAST majority of the population of the world, are undead. undead are banded by a mark on their body called the "darksign" that triggers on death and brings them back. this is an actual item in your inventory too
being undead doesn't mean you are like a zombie though. there is a thing in the dark souls universe called "humanity". it's a physical soul with special properties called "The Dark Soul" that was torn to pieces by someone back during the war with dragons in the previous dark age and given to every single human in the world. it's what gives you your personality and makes you you, hence the dark souls nickname: humanity (this was a mechanical item you could collect in dark souls 1, and is replaced by Embers in this game, and bears a similar resemblance to it, hinting that they are probably related)
However, one branded by the darksign loses a tiny piece of their humanity every time they die and come back to life, this can be circumvented by intense motivation or purpose. if someone dies so much and loses all of their humanity, they become a "hollow" which are all the undead zombies you fight throughout the world. they are people who have been stuck in a perpetual loop of living and being killed for so long that they've lost all their humanity and sense of self. conversely, people with intense purpose such as your blacksmith andre can essentially live forever. andre was the main blacksmith of dark souls 1, which means he's been around smithing swords for tens of thousands of years. this is a core theme and motif in dark souls as a series, and often why people will relate it to mental health
cannonically, if you ever rage quite the game and stop playing, your character has become hollow, because you've given up
That’s such a cool lore piece tho. So whenever I ember up, lore wise I’m kinda restoring my soul and when I die I lose that bit of soul. I also love the correlation between rage quit and hollow lol, give me more reason to not do that. Thank you my guy!
Use the last swords ability wise because it open you up for a counter hit that can be deadly against wrong foe and like many have said you missed a miniboss that siegward helps you in but nice progress
bro that tree jump is lucky af though. every time i played i always need like 50 tries though😢
DS3 has the best bosses among all of the series hope you enjoy them my guy
Fr cant get enough of this 😭
Ay bro you forgot the stuff at bird girl at firelink
You missed the bonfire at minute 14.30.
Also the weapon that the guy at 14.50 dropped is an extremely good weapon. Same goes for weapon at 16.38 and also 16.48.
Also you kind of skipped 2 bosses. Before you went down the stairs in that upper area is another boss and if you go passed him you eventualy find the cathedral of the deep, a beautiful level with boring boss. Because you skipped those 2 the abbys watchers were so hard for you
The weapon you end the video with is also great i heard but i have no experience with it myself

be careful, there are also NPC Invaders in Dark Souls 3. They can also come without ur Ember active

cant get enough of watching people roll through DS3 for the first time especially as their first literal dark souls game. youve got the stuff, ashen one. try parrying bosses! parryable bosses are real and the abyss watchers were one of them. low key gundyr, the "tutorial boss" was also parryable and you tried but just barely missed the timing. that also plays into this fact, a lot of enemies have hidden weaknesses along with other unique quirks that can allow you to get the upper hand on them. dont let fromsoft get you more than you get yours 😂
Bro pls upgrade ur healings also u missed one in the first level
him/him tho lmao
