With the ULEZ charge introduced, and the congestion charge being extended to electric cars - Johnny goes on a quest - to find a way to drive across London without having to pay either charge.

this just proves we need a small mobility device thats cheap, cheerful and useful to counter the rise of oversized SUV land yachts that are infesting our roads, the C5 was all of that and didn't need a full license to boot shame it was 35 years before its time... there would be a real hunger for electric assisted small pedal cars for 1-2 people

They should tax cars based on size. Too many massive SUV's with one person driving. Smaller cars need to make a comeback!

Too much risk to purchase used battery cars because of reduced EV battery life and being stuck with having to replace the EV battery for more than the worth of the vehicle!

I really dont understand how you did that without being arrested for driving an electric vehicle that does not have pedals on the public highway.
They even arrest people for having a twist throttle on an electric bike.

Tell me you never owned an EV without telling me you never owned an EV. Range anxiety goes away as soon as you realise that you very rarely drive 300 miles non stop, and that if you ever do fast chargers can get you enough range in 10-20 minutes to go many miles more.

410 watt solar panel panel as a roof cover and this will drive all day, i have checked the numbers with a mobility scooter.
£700 for plastic, with exposed wiring ha. I would changed out the battery for a larger one, added a solar panel at the front and brought a power bank to father increase range. Ha

@@gearknobchannel Mobility scooter, min 4mph max 8mph, you don't need a licence nor tax/test/mot, with a bigger shell of the Porsche body or any other shell to be fair, mobility scooters can go around 8-12 miles on 1 charge.
I beat ULEZ by driving my Mitsubishi with a 2 litre petrol engine or my Beamer with a 3 litre petrol engine. I don't beat ULEZ very often because it's so much cheaper and easier and more enjoyable going around London on public transport.

Connect a couple of batteries in Parallel or have a battery change over switch. Batteries in Parallel the way to go.
Hack the BMS too! So another battery in Series! 2S 2P or more

@@gearknobchannel I started on UA-cam looking for DIY builds to make myself, can find parts lists in description, but ended up getting an all in one bolt on unit. DIY go karting stuff could be a good start

I know what it's like to get noticed, I ride a 1929 Matchless, it turns all heads, and to cap it, it's ULEZ free, CC free, TAX free and MOT free. Plus, I can insure it for 5 years for the price of that little Porsche. To be fair though, it it worth 10x more.

Fucking brilliant from start to finish..... New subscriber here :) Sir Clive Sinclair did have the right idea, all just was a bit too soon, I actually owned a £400 C5 electric car ! Back in 1986, cost £400 new back then :) I had a MK2 RS2000 also, 19 at the time, good times :)
