It's all about the cost too. Keep in mind, anyone who needs to hear it, that you can buy this body, the three sigma primes, and a gimbal for the cost of just the FX3 body.
Very value laden for the aspirant videographer.

Absolutely. I always live by the law of diminishing returns. Will the fx3 or fx6 make me substantially more money than the fx30? Nope, not with the video work I do.

@@darpinomedia9619 I have both but that's just because Sony was locking crop out of 4k60, which is a framerate I think is very important for what I do.
Had the 30 and 3 came out in tandem, I would be like five grand ahead and owning just the 30.
Its real-estate. Clients are gonna watch on a phone and the video is going to get chewed up by MLS's encoder anyhow.

4:36... and you are absolutely on point. Reminding everyone that about 80% of big production films we see are produced with Super35 sensor cameras is crucial, because it's more than time to understand they are tools. And same as for all of them : if you know how to use them properly, the job shall be more than clean. Even more than that if the operator has some sort of talent !
I would not trade my FX30 for another camera, it gets me more than I need and my next lens (in a few days, hopefully) will expand this to a degree. To achieve the same results with a 24x36 sensor, it would more than triple the cost and double the mass.
I gave a try at photographing with it and the results were brilliant. A phone call from a costumer recently confirmed it.
This camera belongs to the very few pieces of gear we can objectively say have changed the way we create. Did anyone out there thought, 20 years back, it could be possible to have such an amazing result, from such a small size thing and at such a reasonable price ? I did not, even in my darest dreams !

Would love some insight since I just got this lens but am a little nervous about controlling the distortion. Would you also not suggest panning left to right/right to left and keep the shots mostly focused in the center to decrease that effect?

I'm thinking that I need to upgrade to the A7 IV but if this will give me the ability to record 4k 60 without a time limit, I can still use my current lenses that I have for my A7 III, no overheating problems and its cheaper then I'll get this instead. Does this lens cause distortion??

@@darpinomedia9619 well, if we are to discuss FX30 seriously, I don't quite understand why would you want to buy if you have A7IV. The only reason is 4K 120P as I see it. So I tend to think ppl just buy (or rent) the thing for the YT videos. This is not to blame you or anything, I'm fine with any legal way to create more content. The only target group I see is the videographers who have older A6000 bodies and lots of crop lenses. Then FX30 is a perfect choice IMO
